Story
Meet Bojangles! This loving bully mix is just five months old and already the happy go lucky kind of dog that people dream of having. While adventuring and floating on the river are his favorite activities so far, this fella is also down for playing with other dogs. Despite his adventurous nature, Bojangles will also settle well in a crate and is totally up for snuggling with his person. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. Story
🎶 Bow wow yo yippee yay — meet Bowser! 🎶 Bowser is a 6–7 year old pup who is more than ready to find his forever people. He’s one of those dogs who makes you want to squish his face and smother him with love — and the best part? He lives for it. Bowser once had a family, but when he ended up in the shelter, no one came to claim him. He waited and waited… until we stepped in to give him the second chance he so clearly deserved. Over the last three months in foster care, it’s been incredible watching him blossom, learn to trust, and fully settle into home life . And let’s be honest — Bowser doesn’t think he’s a dog. He’s basically a small, furry human in a dog suit. He loves dressing up (and fully embracing the moment), believes snuggling is a competitive sport, and considers himself a full-time member of the household — not just a pet. He’s a 100% certified snugglebug/house hippo who will happily curl up next to you for movie night. Heated blankets? Elite. Squeaky toys? Also elite. He sleeps in bed when invited (manners!) and takes his role as Professional Cuddle Companion very seriously. Bowser is completely house trained and has full freedom in the home when his foster is away — no mischief here. He even has a standing four-week grooming appointment and is learning, with patience, that the nail dremel isn’t so scary after all. We love a growth arc. He walks beautifully on leash in open spaces and enjoys peaceful strolls, though busier areas with lots of dogs can still be a little overwhelming for him. (He has been known to “defend the household” from dogs on TV — security is important, after all.) A home that understands he’s still navigating some dog reactivity will help him continue to succeed. In the backyard, he’ll surprise you with joyful zoomies before returning to his true calling: being attached to his human. He does well with calm canine friends but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only sidekick, soaking up all the love and attention for himself. Now entering his golden years, Bowser deserves a home where he can bask in sunshine, security, and endless affection. His fur may be black, but make no mistake — Bowser is a golden boy through and through. Truly, we cannot understand how he hasn’t been scooped up yet. Could you be the lucky one to finally claim him? 🖤🐾

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation FREE if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Mei is the kind of dog who bounces into your day with pure joy and a big smile that makes everything feel lighter. She is a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a playful spark, the perfect mix of medium-high energy when the toys come out and soft cuddles when she’s ready to settle in. She is a natural comedian. Mei gives full body hugs, showers you with kisses and chases her toys with so much enthusiasm that she sometimes tosses them for herself. At about 2 years old and 45 pounds, she is a charming mystery mix with perky ears, a chocolate and tan coat and a stocky little frame that only adds to her character. She might have a hint of Doberman, maybe some Australian Kelpie and some Pit Bull Terrier. Mei already knows how to sit for a treat and she learns quickly. She is doing well with housetraining when kept on a routine and she trots happily into her crate for a treat, settling after a little whine. She loves to zoom around the yard and will play fetch for as long as you want. If you love watching a dog light up with pure joy, she is your girl. Mei does have food allergies and needs to stay on a hydrolyzed protein prescription diet. When she arrived she had no fur and was miserable, but with proper care she has blossomed into a shiny, happy pup. She will need to stay on her special diet to keep feeling her best. She gets along well with friendly, submissive dogs, seems neutral with cats and enjoys every person she meets. She rides well in the car and would benefit from a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her zoomies. After a tough start in life, Mei is more than ready for the fairy tale ending she deserves. If you think you might be her match, reach out to us for more information.  Interested in adopting? (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption.
