Story
Hello! My name's Putter and I'm ready to be your new best friend! I am an American Bulldog/Retriever mix weighing around 70 lbs. They tell me I am a sweet, smart dog who is considered medium energy. My favorite things include cuddling, car rides, and long walks! I would prefer a home with no kids and could do well with the right dog who can respect my space. I love to play fetch, but sometimes I don't understand that I have to drop the ball to keep playing! . I know basic commands like sit, down, paw and I walk pretty well on a leash. I'm slow to warm up but once I know you, you'll have all my love forever! You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about me on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet me today!!Adoption fee: $375 All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. ·Intake Reason: Transfer from Louisiana·Weight: 51 lbs.Known with:·Cats: Unknown·Dogs: Has done great with multiple dogs at WCHS; Rough player·Kids: Unknown·Personality: Active; Will need a job to doHowdy, my name is Cain and I am a high-octane dude who likes to stay busy. I enjoy burning some energy by romping with pooch pals, but they need to understand and be tolerant of my rough playstyle. I also like to get out and about for a walk with humans because I love to explore. Since I am still a youngster, there are lots of things that are new to me so I would appreciate accompanying you on many adventures where I can meet new people, experience new things and see new places. I do realize, however, that to be a welcome community member I must learn manners and social skills, so it would be lovely if we could take some classes together before I am fully grown. Another thing I need to practice is something called house-training. I am a smart lad, so I am sure with a routine and plenty of praise and yummy treats when I use the outside facilities, that is a skillset I can master. I am friendly, playful and affectionate; basically, an all-around phenomenal pup. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. It would be spectacular if I could have a job or two to help me stay active and keep my mind engaged. I might like to try my paw at canine sports, rally, dog parkour or nose work. I am hoping for a calm, confident and consistent owner who will provide patient and positive training to help me grow into the most magnificent dog ever. Make me part of your family and I promise to be a happy and faithful companion who will always be ready for work or playtime. #2

·Intake Reason: Transfer from Louisiana·Weight: 50 lbs. Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Has done great with multiple dogs at WCHS ·Kids: Unknown ·Personality: Initially shy with people. Really comes out of her shell when with other dogs. *WCHS recommends going to a home that already has another dogHello, my name is Cleo and I am as beautiful as Cleopatra, but not as uppity. I travelled from an over-crowded shelter in Louisiana with my brother to search for my new home in Wisconsin. I tend to be a bit under-confident so I was not sure about participating in such a big adventure, but with my brother at my side I mustered the courage and hopped aboard the transport. It is not required that I find a home with my brother but I do blossom when I am around other pooches so I would really like to have a canine sibling. I really enjoy playing with other pups, look to them to strengthen my resolve and am more comfortable in new situations when another dog is around. Although I am initially shy when I meet a new person, if they give me some time to relax and be at ease, I will warm up, become their buddy and have a good time. I do enjoy tasty morsels and they certainly help solidify a friendship, but don't be offended if I am shy about accepting them when we first meet. Once I am comfortable with someone, I rarely turn down a yummy treat and that will definitely help in our training sessions. Speaking of training, I would love to take some classes with you so I learn manners, social skills and some cues; that way I will understand what you would like me to do. I am still a youngster, so there are tons of things that are new to me; exploring new places, discovering novel items and meeting new people will help me greatly. It will be critical that you always make each new encounter a positive experience for me. I have heard that learning new skills can boost a girl's self-confidence so taking classes and participating in canine sports, rally, nose work or dog parkour would be lovely. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I use the outside facilities. I've already told you how I feel about other canines and I might even be open to sharing a house with a feline, but I do not have any experience with them; word in the kennel is that they are like a whole different species. Since I have not mastered manners just yet I should always be supervised around children and have plenty of appropriate things to chew on. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile and sensitive. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy, happiness and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you; I know we can make a spectacular family.#2

Story
Hi, I'm Bubba! I'm a 6 year old bulldog mix who has been at the shelter too long. Sadly I haven't had much interest. It may be because I don't show well in my kennel but take me out and I am a very different dog. I recently went on an adventure to the beach with staff members. Water isn't my thing but I sure enjoyed a very pleasant walk. I am a big boy who is on a special diet to help get my weight down and it is working! I will need to find someone willing to give me frequent exercise to keep me healthy in my new home.I am a bit hesitant of new people but it doesn't take long for me to warm up. I would need to be your only fur baby but I will make up for that with all the love I can give you in return. I've never been around children, so a home with older kids or adults would be best for me. I like casual strolls where I can stop and smell everything. I take my sniffing very seriously.I am a great walker, I love to get pets and scratches, I ride well in a car and I would make the most perfect couch potato. I would be such a loyal companion. All I need is someone to give me a chance. I hope it will be you. Please come visit me at the shelter.Love, Bubba Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 96.1 Age: 6yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Hello! I'm Tubby! I found myself at the shelter as a stray, so I'm looking for an new place to call home! I am a fun-loving, strong boy with lots of energy, and I could really use an active home that loves to play! I could go all day! I would benefit from some basic obedience training, but I'm pretty smart, so that shouldn't be too difficult for me! There are some dogs here in the shelter that I don't really like, but there may be a dog out there that may be a good fit to share a home with - I'd just need a proper introduction! I would probably be friendly around most kids, but due to my energy level, I may be too much for little children. Can I be your new best friend? I'd love to meet you!
