Story
Meet Tawny Tawny entered Lancaster Shelter as a stray, and when she wasn't claimed, we scooped her up on April 9th to become a Frosted Face. She is 10 years old, weighs 15 lbs., and is very sweet. Tawny went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what she is like in a home. We received a wonderful report from her Fling Mom: "Tawny is such an awesome dog. Here are some reasons why I think she would be a great addition to almost any household... She's very sweet. Loves pets and to sleep in your bed. Was very open to meeting new people. Liked to follow me around the house sometimes. Tawny wasn't picky, but I always gave her soft food. She could probably eat anywhere as long as other animals aren't stealing her food. I fed in separate rooms to give her security, but she didn't demonstrate any resource guarding. Tawny is house-trained and will let you know when she wants to go outside to potty. She can hold it for longer, but if you are around, she will want to go out more frequently. She loves a balance of frequent walks and naps. She did great with other dogs. At first, she growled a couple times telling my dog to respect her space. After about a day she stopped growling and tolerated my dog the rest of the two weeks. She ignored him most of the time but didn't mind his presence. On walks she seemed interested in other dogs outside. She wagged her tail and tried to walk towards them. Tawny prefers to walk at a slower pace so she can sniff everything. She would do great with a fenced backyard. She's great in the car and is a very tolerant dog. Tawny is super sweet and easy to take care of. Tawny is back on-site and ready for her forever home! Come meet her during Open House on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 1:00!
