Story
-I had to have both of my eyes removed and am completely blind- Meet Hope - A Sweet Spirit Ready to Bring Joy Hope is a 7-year-old Cocker Spaniel weighing 25.4 pounds, and she's as lovely as her name suggests. This gentle girl is full of sweetness and loves soaking up attention and gentle pets from her favorite people. Even though she is blind, she doesn't let that slow her down. She will eagerly listen for voices or wait for smells of her favorite people to seek them out for kisses and cuddles! She's also showing her playful side - toys have started to catch her interest, and it's a joy to see her curiosity and personality shine. Hope is ready to find a loving forever home where she can be cherished, spoiled with affection, and continue to enjoy the simple joys of life. If you're looking for a loyal, tender companion to brighten your days, Hope is waiting to meet you. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Florence is a 6-year-old Cockapoo weighing just 13 pounds, and she is a sweetheart in every sense of the word. Once she trusts you, she becomes the biggest cuddle bug — a true Velcro dog who loves her people (and her dog friends) with her whole heart. She’s gentle, affectionate, and gives tiny “thank you” kisses after pets, but only once she’s decided you’re part of her circle. She also has the funniest little morning routine: after her first potty break, she LOVES to tuck her butt and zoom joyfully around the yard. It’s impossible not to watch her without smiling. Florence is a total couch girly, too. Dog bed vs. couch? She chooses the couch every time. And she secretly loves being tucked in — a soft blanket over her makes her feel safe and cozy. She adores being included in all the small daily rituals. In her foster home, she gets to sniff the food before the humans eat — not to steal it, just to be part of the moment. It’s her little tradition, and it’s adorable. She rides well in the car, especially when she can settle in her dog bed near her people. She’s still learning how to walk confidently on a leash, and stairs can give her some “performance anxiety,” but she’s making progress. She does wonderfully for grooming and is still figuring out how to play with toys — right now she prefers carrying one for a few seconds and then dropping it somewhere new. Florence truly has one of the biggest hearts we’ve ever seen. When she loves, she loves so deeply. She wants closeness, connection, and a person to call her own. Because Florence is shy and anxious in new situations, she gains confidence from having another friendly, well-adjusted dog by her side. She also struggles with being left completely alone, so a canine companion will help her feel secure and supported. Florence also has degenerative valve disease, but it is currently low-risk. She simply needs periodic monitoring by a veterinarian to ensure it stays stable. She’s looking for a patient, gentle adopter who understands her sensitivity, embraces her quirks, and is ready for the powerful, loyal love she gives once she feels safe. If you’re searching for a devoted companion, a snuggle expert, a morning zoomie enthusiast, and a dog who will love you with everything she has — Florence might just be your perfect match. ---------- Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet.
