You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lucy, a one-year-old girl who is the perfect size at a sturdy and manageable 36 lbs. With a unique heritage—her father was an American Eskimo and Great Pyrenees blend, while her mother was a Pit Bull—Lucy is a beautiful mix of intelligence, loyalty, and charm. Lucy came to us from a home where she lived with other dogs, but her previous family realized they could no longer meet her needs and made the decision to ensure she found a home that could give her the life she deserves. Because of her transition, Lucy is a sensitive soul who takes a little bit of time to warm up to new people and unfamiliar surroundings. She isn't the type to jump into a stranger's arms immediately, but for the patient owner, the reward of her trust is well worth the wait. She is looking for a dedicated family committed to her ongoing socialization and willing to help her master her house-training skills. With a consistent routine and a gentle hand, Lucy’s confidence is sure to blossom.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2026, 5:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Olive, a sweet girl who is ready to bring a whole lot of joy to a lucky home! At around just 5 months old and weighing in at 26 lbs, Olive is a unique blend - featuring an American Eskimo and Great Pyrenees mix on her father's side and a Pit Bull mother. This delightful blend has given her a one-of-a-kind personality that is as lovable as it is sweet. As a young pup, Olive is at the perfect age to bond deeply with her new family. Because she is still in her formative months, she is looking for a home that is fully committed to the 'puppy life'—which includes plenty of patience for house training, basic manners, and all the curious energy that comes with being a youngster. While she can be a little shy when first meeting new people or exploring new places, her affectionate nature quickly shines through once she feels safe. Olive has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and is currently awaiting her spay surgery, which is scheduled in the coming weeks. We expect her to be ready to join her forever family around April 24, 2026. If you are looking for a growing girl to join your adventures and you're ready to put in the work to help her become the best dog she can be, please submit an online adoption application to meet Olive!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 13, 2026, 5:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Birch, a handsome young fella who is ready to find a family to grow up with! At around just 5 months old and weighing in at 21 lbs, Birch is a slightly smaller but equally charming version of his sibling Olive. He shares the same unique heritage, with a father who was an American Eskimo and Great Pyrenees blend and a mother who was a Pit Bull, resulting in a one-of-a-kind boy with a heart of gold. Being a young pup, Birch is looking for a family that is ready to embrace all the excitement and responsibility that comes with raising a puppy. He is incredibly lovable and sweet, though he does take a moment to find his courage when meeting new people or exploring unfamiliar spots. He will thrive in a home committed to his continued socialization and house training, helping him build the confidence he needs to navigate the world as a well-adjusted adult. Birch has been brought up to date on all his vaccinations and is currently awaiting his neuter surgery, which is scheduled in the coming weeks. We anticipate he will be ready to head to his new forever home around April 24, 2026. Story
Logan is a Miniature American Eskimo puppy born  May 2025.  She is about 15 pounds.  Logan is looking for someone that will be home the majority of the time.  She would love to have a canine buddy in her new home.  She also does well with cats.  Her foster reports that she is potty-trained and doing great.  She sleeps all night in bed with her foster mom.  She is an active girl and needs a fenced in yard.   Here are some general traits of American Eskimo dogs: Intelligent, alert, and friendly companions with a thick, white double coat.  Loyal, energetic, and eager to please - which makes them highly trainable, though they can also be stubborn and prone to barking if not properly trained.  Affectionate with their families, possibly wary of strangers at first. Prone to having high energy levels that require regular exercise and mental stimulation. The suggested adoption donation for Logan is $525, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  [Muddy Paws can also suggest a vet with a reduced cost for alters.]  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. ##2604814##
