Story
Pixie & Tobias are a bonded pair of 5 year old 5 lb Chihuahua mixes. They are not beginner dogs and they are not looking for a typical pet home. These two are deeply bonded and must stay together. They are not comfortable with men and cannot live with children. A calm adult female only home is required. They are a known flight risk and will only be placed in a home with a secure, physically fenced yard. No exceptions. Doors, gates, and leashes must be handled carefully at all times. They are also a bite risk. They will bite if pushed past their comfort level or handled incorrectly. They need an experienced, confident adopter who understands small dog behavior, respects boundaries, and is committed to management over fixing. This placement is about safety and stability, not turning them into lap dogs. Please only apply if your application clearly states that you meet all of these criteria. Story
Sherman Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home!    Sherman is a sweet old man that unfortunately found himself at a local animal control.  A shelter is not the place for this chubby old man so we took him in.  He does well with other dogs, since he is not neutered yet he can be very interested in females.  A home with other male dogs or a female who will tell him off is best. He enjoys napping on the couch next to his foster dad to watch football on Sundays.  He is good in the car, sleeps in his crate at night and has does well with housetraining.   Sherman would love to spend his golden years romping in a yard, finding sunny spots to lounge in, and enjoying laid back time with a family of his own. **Due to clinic delays: this puppy will be available for adoption with the collection of an additional $100 spay/neuter voucher deposit, which will be refunded upon receipt of successful procedure at our partnering clinic.   If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today!
