We adopted sweet Freya from the shelter in May 2023. She loves people and her super chewer toys. She is very food motivated and trainable! She is house trained and crate trained. The vet said she is "healthy as a horse!" Unfortunately we have to move out of state for a job and can't take her with us. Her adoption fee includes a crate, bed, food, toys, leash, harness, and car seat.

She has made so much progress and is a completely different dog than when she was first brought in...we could not be happier. Charas has such a sweet, loving personality. She is going to make someone a wonderful dog. She has become very comfortable here. She is well behaved in her outside kennel. She is great on a leash and enjoys walks. She enjoys treats, a chew or bone and a peanut butter kong. In the afternoons, we put her out in the play yard with Bruce...they get along great! She does enjoy a dogs company but is ready to come over for lovins and head pats from us whenever she has a chance. She loves to be loved and snuggled. She is definitely a lovebug. She is playful and enjoys running around and engaging with us and Bruce. She is crate trained, as she is in a crate at night and does not potty. Never makes a sound. Hoping she gets her second chance. Introducing Charas to new people, she may be a bit shutdown/timid until she warms up to you. She is also kid friendly.

He is the sweetest natured dog I have ever owned. He is great with kids and other animals, I am unsure of cats for lack of exposure. I have relocated and he is now in an outside kennel and no longer in my home. He is going to be a big boy when fully grown. He needs a yard and a-lot of attention. He will lay in your lap or sleep by you until you take him outside. My work schedule and living arrangements have changed and I simply want to find him a loving home.

Meet Roadie! This boy was found by a Good Samaritan in the worst condition. He had lacerations all over him. He was badly emaciated and loaded with parasites. After good vet care and lots of TLC from his foster mom he has made the most amazing transformation. Despite the neglect and likely abuse this boy has faced in his life he doesn’t let it get to him. He’s the sweetest dog that always greets you with a tail wags and covers you with kisses. He’s great with other dogs. He hasn’t been tested with cats. He adores children and wants nothing more than to be with his family at all times. He’s great on a leash and great in the car. He’s a wonderful boy who has truly come so far and deserves nothing but the best. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . August is a 4 year old girl who came to the City of Mobile Animal Services late last year. Cyclists reported seeing a dog in the woods in a rural location over the course of a week. Someone had left food and water for her, and she was emaciated and scared. Animal Control Officers investigated and found her peering at them from behind a tree. I'm scared, she barked at them! They laid in the leaves with her, tossing her treats until she moved closer and closer. Soon, she was tentatively eating food from their hands and they were able to slip a leash on her. Today, she has learned that humans are alright again, through working with our staff. August absolutely loves other dogs! She will play and play with any new canine friend, large or small. She loves toys and treats. She would enjoy a home with other confident playmates who can continue to show her the way.
