Story
August is a 4 year old girl who came to the City of Mobile Animal Services late last year. Cyclists reported seeing a dog in the woods in a rural location over the course of a week. Someone had left food and water for her, and she was emaciated and scared. Animal Control Officers investigated and found her peering at them from behind a tree. I'm scared, she barked at them! They laid in the leaves with her, tossing her treats until she moved closer and closer. Soon, she was tentatively eating food from their hands and they were able to slip a leash on her. Today, she has learned that humans are alright again, through working with our staff. August absolutely loves other dogs! She will play and play with any new canine friend, large or small. She loves toys and treats. She would enjoy a home with other confident playmates who can continue to show her the way. August can be fostered or adopted. This is just one of many animals at the City of Mobile Animal Services. Story
UPDATE!! &#226&#156&#168 Meet Pua,  our resilient one and a half year old boxer/bully mix, a survivor of a challenging past. Despite facing adversity when attacked by another dog, she has shown incredible strength. This 40 lb girl wears her scars as a testament to her courage. She is getting ready to undergo training to help her build confidence and understanding that not all dogs pose a threat. She should be ready to go sometime in March. We will be looking for a  patient and loving forever home, to embrace the opportunity to offer her the understanding and support she needs.  With her gentle spirit and a heart full of love, she'll be ready to embark on a new chapter. Could you be the compassionate soul to provide her with the safe and loving forever home she deserves? Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Story
Archie is a 4 year old Boxer/ American bulldog mix that has a story to tell! He was recently found, malnourished with an ear and skin infections. His infections are being treated and he is getting good nutrition! He was found to have a microchip but the phone number attached is disconnected and no one has replied to the emails. With further digging, we found out that that he was originally from Louisiana and has been adopted out from the SPCA there twice. The second time he was relinquished was due to his ongoing skin issues. This is due to allergies and will require lifelong management by whoever wants this sweet boy in their life. Getting to know your local vet well or going to a animal dermatologist would be a great idea for him. His finder is unable to keep this love bug due to number of pets allowed where she is. He is housebroken and well mannered. He does well with kids, cats and other dogs and knows a long list of tricks! He loves car rides and is very gentle. He is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. He just got a proheart injection so he is protected from heart worms for 6 months. We are asking a $100 adoption fee. Please contact Lisa is interested at (908) 230-0411 or lisa.g.brody@gmail.com.

Story
Belle came to live with us about 4years ago. She would have been 3 or4. I took her when acquaintances of mine were moving and couldn't take Belle with them. They had rescued her from a dumpster when she was just a few months old. Belle took to me more than my 3 children, and I became her person, though I wanted her and the kids to bond, they didn't as much as I would've thought. We are hardly ever home anymore, as the family has gotten older and busier with jobs and other activities. Belle spends a lot of time waiting on us to get home, a lot of that time she is in her kennel. My fence broke down last year and I haven't been able to get it repaired, and I can' let Belle outside on her own, and I want her to have more outside time as well as more walks and exercise. She likes people, but not so much cats. She has a very assertive bark when she sees cats and small dogs walk across our yard. I want her to find a home where people are around, and can interact with her throughout the day.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This handsome, good boy is Truman and he came to us as a dumped stray.  We believe Truman was born around 1/18/22 and is a stunning black with white Boxer/Bully mix.  Truman is very sweet, friendly and loving and will make a wonderful addition to almost any home.  Truman is a young boy and likes to play with other dogs but we have not had him around cats (if you submit your application, we can cat test).  We took Truman to our Amazing Vets because we noticed his tail looks 'wonky'.  Well after x-rays, it looks like he has a congenital issue with some of the vertebrae in a couple spots on his tail. This deformity in his tail is not bothering him at all now, but we want to mention that he may need amputation of his tail later in life, if it causes arthritic related problems. Truman is a medium sized dog, so we like to recommend a home with a fenced in backyard and/or plans for daily exercise and socialization. If you're not in a position to adopt, Truman would love to be in a Foster home while waiting for his forever home! Amazing Grace Bully Rescue is a foster based rescue in the Pensacola, Florida area.  We do not have a physical building. If you would like to meet any of our pups, the first step is to fill out our online application so we can contact you. Truman is neutered, current on shots, rabies vaccine, and a registered microchip. If you would like to adopt this Amazing dog, please fill out our online adoption application at www.amazinggracebullyrescue.org If you have any questions, please text your question to 850-723-2037.  You may also send a message to our Amazing Grace Bully Rescue Page on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or send an email directly to amazinggracebullyrescue@gmail.com Disclaimer:  We are located in the Pensacola, Florida area and will consider local applicants first, especially with puppies since we use a vet in the local area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 5:36 am

Story
Miss Daylight is in search of a new home, she’s a mix between an American Bulldog and an American Staffordshire terrier. She is 1 year old, spayed, chipped and up to date on vaccinations. She is also on HW preventatives and is currently negative for them. Weighs about 50lbs and is fully grown. She is house and crate trained, she’s an oversized lap dog. Great with humans and other dogs but chases the neighborhood stray cats away. Reason I need to unfortunately rehome her is I’m barely home anymore with my new job as an OTR trucker driving all 48 states and there’s no space for her on the team truck. If anyone can take her in or help find her a furever home I would deeply appreciate it. She is currently with my wife but my wife’s actually allergic to most animals and is doing her best to care for my baby. Any questions, comments or concerns please message me here or email me xxxx@xxxx.x . Thank you for your time.
