Story
Charley is a joy to be around! She’s blossomed beautifully since coming to the shelter and now greets everyone with a happy tail wag and an irresistible smile. With her calm, quiet demeanor, Charley is ready to be the cherished center of attention in a loving home.In foster care, Charley has been an absolute star—housebroken, crate-trained, and always polite. She is a fantastic houseguest, enjoying cuddle time, cozy spots on the bed, and behaving perfectly when left alone. Her foster described her as `the sweetest girl` who is always grateful for any attention, treats, or outdoor time.Charley’s volunteer buddies adore her and describe her as friendly, easygoing, and a great leash-walker. She’s an ideal walking or hiking buddy and loves an adventure, but she’s just as content snuggling up at home. While she’s met other larger dogs with ease, Charley is looking for a home where she can be the only pet, soaking up all the love for herself. If you’re ready to meet a loyal, affectionate friend who will fill your life with happiness, Charley can’t wait to be your perfect match!

Story
Poptarts aren’t just for breakfast anymore! Nope, this Poptart is much more versatile (though he will be happy to share your breakfast if you’re willing). This Poptart is ready to be your new best friend at any time of day, for any meal, and for forever!!Poptart spent some time in a foster home where we learned that he is a quiet houseguest, likes to sleep near his people at night, and is housebroken. He loves balls and playing fetch and takes good care of his soft toys (no spontaneous combustion here!). Poptart’s foster said that he loves to be right by your side and is very mellow. Here`s what volunteers at the shelter have said:“Poptart quickly settled into a brisk walk around the lake. He noticed other dogs but didn’t seem very interested. He sat for treats and is pretty good catching them midair, and he likes pets and affection.”“This was my first time walking Poptart and he was a DREAM on leash. Perfect loose-leash walker and he checked in regularly. I stopped at a picnic table, and he jumped up on the bench for some scritches, then eventually laid down. Poptart really is a sweet, mushy boy who needs to be seen out of his kennel to appreciate what a good boy he is.”“Poptart was easy to leash and once outside he was relaxed and ready for a nice walk. Poptart was a great walking buddy, loose leash with a nice steady pace next to me. He went potty and did lots of sniffing. He took treats nicely and gave me some very sweet kisses.”Poptart has been social and appropriate when meeting other similarly sized dogs in playgroup. He’s looking for a home without small dogs or other small pets and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Poptart is medical for Valley Fever and is seeking an adopter to provide him with twice daily medications and bi-annual check ups for his management. Ask to meet Poptart today!

Story
In search of an exotic pet? How about a Monkey?? Ok, fine- he’s really a dog, but he’s just as fun as a whole barrel of monkeys!! Monkey spent several months in a foster home where he did well with another resident dog, was housetrained, and was described as a cuddly couch potato. He loves stuffed animals and Kongs and enjoyed sleeping near his foster people at night. Here`s what some of the Monkey keepers at the shelter had to say:“Monkey was easy to leash and we went to a yard with his kennel mate, where he approached for lots of affection. He is a very loving boy who considers himself a lap dog. He sat perfectly for treats, took them nicely from my hand, and was very friendly and respectful of his male kennel mate of similar size. Monkey will make a great dog for an active family, he`s so sweet. Return to kennel was easy.”“Monkey LOVES squeaky toys, but he doesn’t chew them up. He just really enjoys getting all the squeaks out of them. He’s a really friendly guy and likes to make new friends. He is eager to please and he’s a great cuddler.”“Monkey was very easy to leash and quickly settled into his lake walk. He takes treats gently and did not press for them.”Monkey also participated in a public dog walk and got a rave review:“Monkey is a very good pup, no barking and little reaction when other dogs passed. Friendly and A+ manners. Likes sniffs! Monkeys’ ears flap like a bird when walking, very cute.”Monkey would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it`s a good fit. Ask to meet Monkey today!!
