Story
Galleta is a sweet middle-aged gal who ended up at PACC after living in one home for five years. As you can imagine, that must have been pretty confusing for her, but this girl has shown herself to be incredibly resilient and she has adapted well, looking forward to her walks with volunteer friends and yard time with her kennelmates. But, she is surely dreaming of having a family of her own again! While her former owner surrendered Galleta when the household dynamics changed and they could no longer care for her, they loved her and said the following:“Galleta is an amazing dog. I truly hope she finds someone that will spoil her!” We hope so too! Could that be you? Galleta was reportedly house and crate trained in her former home and was described as an affectionate pup who loves toys and car rides, is playful, and loves to stick close to her humans. Galleta spent about a month in a foster home- here’s what her foster said:“Galleta was a joy! This lovely girl has truly blossomed, revealing her playful, affectionate, and calm nature. She loves to play fetch, chew on toys, and go for walks. Galleta doesn’t bark, travels calmly in the car, and is relaxed during grooming sessions. She also did wonderfully with our six-year-old child, who adores her (and the feeling is mutual). Crowds and strangers don’t faze Galleta either; she recently joined us at the Tucson Jazz Festival, where she was a calm and friendly star!”Galleta was housetrained in her foster home, loved to play with tennis balls and stuffed toys, and reportedly gives the best kisses! Her foster described her as obedient, smart, and low maintenance, saying “she has been such a pleasure to have in our home. We`ll miss her when she`s adopted, but we`re excited for her to find her forever home.”Here`s what one of Galleta’s friends at the shelter said:“Galleta is a sweet little lady. She is easy to handle, she doesn`t pull on her leash. She loves treats and takes them softly.”Galleta would like to meet any future furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit. If you’re looking for a calm, sweet, and affectionate companion with excellent manners and a big heart, Galleta is ready to bring love and joy into your life! Ask about her today!

Story
Betsy is cute middle- aged sweet potato with tons of personality – she’s active, energetic, and loves attention! Betsy spent several weeks in a foster home where she LOVED any kind of toy, was working on her potty training, and was described as friendly, cuddly, and quick to bond with her people. She also did great with kids in another short-term home and was described as an affectionate couch potato.Betsy is a day trip and volunteer favorite too:“I took Betsy to a yard to play. She loved to play with a squeaky toy, but it didn’t last long. She was very friendly and affectionate.”“Betsy was the perfect house guest and loves to cuddle up with you when given the chance.”“Betsy got to go on a hike today and hang out at home. She is playful and curious. She is a very calm sleeper but is still energetic and playful.”Betsy would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit and she may do best in a home without cats. Ask to meet Betsy today!

EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE5PM Wednesday 08/13/25AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR FOSTER THROUGH PACC Name: FawnAnimal ID: A856841Age: 2 yearsWeight: 55.5lbsWeb Link: 24Petconnect: Lost, Found, and Adoptable Animals About: Fawn is a beautiful two-year-old fawn-colored Pit Bull who is patiently waiting for her fresh start. She first came to us in November of 2024 as a stray with her eight puppies, all of whom have since found their forever homes. This sweet girl is still a puppy at heart and needs a loving and patient family to give her a quiet space to decompress and continue her training. Fosters and volunteers describe Fawn as an affectionate and quiet dog who loves to play. She walks well on a leash, especially with a harness, and gets so excited about her squeaky toys that she`ll do happy zoomies all over the yard!Fawn has a bite history from a previous foster home where she snapped at her foster within the first hour, leaving moderate marks on both arms. Due to this, it`s crucial to give her time to decompress and become comfortable in her new environment. In the beginning stages of adoption, you should allow her to go at her own pace and avoid forcing affection or involvement. A quiet home is a very different experience from the shelter, and she`ll need patience as she adjusts.Due to her high prey drive, she needs a home without cats. When it comes to other dogs, she can be a bit assertive during greetings, so it`s essential that she meets any resident dogs in the household to ensure everyone gets along. Fawn has some specific needs to help her feel safe and secure. She has some anxiety, and when left to her own devices, she can be quite destructive. She`s a known escape artist and has broken out of kennels before, so a sturdy, reliable crate is non-negotiable for her safety and your peace of mind when you`re away. Because of her impressive jumping abilities, a securely fenced-in yard is a must. Fawn would do best with enrichment activities or having the TV on to keep her mind busy and prevent boredom. Fawn would do best in a home with older, dog-experienced children. This loyal and loving companion just needs the right family to give her the happy ending she deserves.
