She was found in the woods eating a rotten deer carcass so we took her in along with another dog with her that is 1/2 her size. The vet said she was born around November and we have had her since late April. We hired a trainer from Concerned Canine’s and she has improved a lot but here are her problem areas: She has anxiety and is on trazodone. She's not the biggest fan of strangers and is often nervous or scared around them before she gets comfy, sometimes on leash she barks. We think she is okay with dogs but the other one is 1/2 her size and she plays too rough with him, so she needs to be with dogs her size or bigger (and no children smaller than teens) and be able to get the exercise and mental stimulation that she needs to thrive. Sometimes she gets sick on car rides over 30 mins so she will need medicine for that as well. Overall she is very sweet and loving and VERY SMART. We don’t want to give her up, but we cannot give her the life she needs. So we are asking anyone that will

She has made so much progress and is a completely different dog than when she was first brought in...we could not be happier. Charas has such a sweet, loving personality. She is going to make someone a wonderful dog. She has become very comfortable here. She is well behaved in her outside kennel. She is great on a leash and enjoys walks. She enjoys treats, a chew or bone and a peanut butter kong. In the afternoons, we put her out in the play yard with Bruce...they get along great! She does enjoy a dogs company but is ready to come over for lovins and head pats from us whenever she has a chance. She loves to be loved and snuggled. She is definitely a lovebug. She is playful and enjoys running around and engaging with us and Bruce. She is crate trained, as she is in a crate at night and does not potty. Never makes a sound. Hoping she gets her second chance. Introducing Charas to new people, she may be a bit shutdown/timid until she warms up to you. She is also kid friendly.

This sweet boy was born around 8/4/2015 and was living outside. Thankfully, those days are now behind him and Malachi is learning how nice it is to live indoors! This sweet brindle boy is a Boxer mix who hasn't had much time or training spend with him, but sure has a lot of love to give. He is doing great in his Amazing Foster home. He was never house trained so he is getting the hang of going potty outside. His Amazing Foster Family say that Malachi is a very sweet, energetic, playful dog. He is friendly and outgoing with both new and familiar people. He loves belly rubs, pets, and nearly any kind of treat. He would be the perfect companion to take on walks or to just spend time playing with. Malachi gets along well with with most of the dogs we have introduced him to, so a proper introduction is a must. Malachi is not a fan of small animals so he would not do well in a home with cats. We are looking for a patient forever home for Malachi since he had such a sad past, but he's so grateful and appreciative of everything his fosters have introduced him to so far! Since he was a forgotten about yard dog, Malachi came to us heartworm positive, but we are so excited to share that he has completed his HW treatment and is now Heartworm FREE!! Despite her young age, she hadn't been properly cared for and is heartworm positive. She is currently undergoing slowkill heartworm treatment and is responding very well.  So Duchess was previously in a home where we were told there were a bunch of dogs and cats. Thankfully, one of our Volunteers convinced the owners to surrender her so we could get her taken care of and find her a great family. Duchess would love to be in a Foster home while waiting to be adopted. Duchess is good with other dogs we have introduced her to but so far, she shows too much excitement in cats.  Since Duchess is a medium sized dog, we like to recommend a home with a fenced in yard so she can get daily exercise. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.This handsome, good boy is Truman and he came to us as a dumped stray.  We believe Truman was born around 1/18/22 and is a stunning black with white Boxer/Bully mix.  Truman is very sweet, friendly and loving and will make a wonderful addition to almost any home.  Truman is a young boy and likes to play with other dogs but we have not had him around cats (if you submit your application, we can cat test).  We took Truman to our Amazing Vets because we noticed his tail looks 'wonky'.  Well after x-rays, it looks like he has a congenital issue with some of the vertebrae in a couple spots on his tail. This deformity in his tail is not bothering him at all now, but we want to mention that he may need amputation of his tail later in life, if it causes arthritic related problems. Truman is a medium sized dog, so we like to recommend a home with a fenced in backyard and/or plans for daily exercise and socialization. If you're not in a position to adopt, Truman would love to be in a Foster home while waiting for his forever home!
