Story
The Boy Who Lived: Meet Harry Potter Born: March 2024 | Weight: 50lbs | Special Power: Parvo Survivor & Professional Cuddler They say some of the best things in life take a little extra time and patience. Harry Potter has been waiting for his "forever home" for almost two years—that’s over 600 days of wishing and hoping. A True Survivor Harry isn’t just a handsome, slate-gray charmer; he’s a miracle. Having survived the deadly Parvovirus as a tiny pup, he has a zest for life that is absolutely infectious. He conquered the odds once, and now he’s looking for a partner to help him conquer the world. Best of all? Harry is already house trained and crate trained! He treats his crate like his very own Gryffindor Common Room—it’s his safe, quiet space where he goes to relax and recharge. Because he’s already mastered the "magic" of house manners, you can skip the puppy accidents and go straight to the fun stuff! The Ultimate Tri-Wizard Athlete Are you looking for a reason to get outside? Harry is your guy! He’s a high-energy athlete who thrives in the fresh air. His Quidditch Pitch: A big, fenced-in yard where he can zoom to his heart's content, no broomstick required. His Motivation: He is extremely food-motivated. If you have a treat, you have his undivided attention (and his big heart). His Growth Potential: While he’s a strong boy who currently thinks "leash walking" is an Olympic rowing event, his love for treats makes him a dream to train. Since he’s already mastered the crate, you can focus all your training "charms" on helping him become a leash-walking pro. A Soulful Connection Harry is a "velcro dog" in the making. While he can be a little shy or "Muggle-wary" around strangers, once you are in his inner circle, you are there for life. He is looking for a patient soul who understands that the best friendships aren't built in a day, but are well worth the wait. Harry’s Wishlist: An Active Lifestyle: Someone who loves long walks or backyard play as much as he does. Patience & Training: A human who sees his "counter surfing" as him just looking for the Marauder's Map (or snacks!) and can use positive reinforcement to help him become a polished gentleman. A Quiet Start: A home where he can settle in at his own pace. The Only Apple of Your Eye: Harry is dog-selective and hasn't met cats, so he’d prefer to be your one-and-only or meet a very compatible canine sibling. Ready to be Harry’s Hero? Don’t let this survivor wait another day. If you have a fenced yard, a pocket full of treats, and a heart ready for a loyal, house-trained companion, Harry is waiting for you. Harry has spent half his life in rescue. He has the strength, the spirit, and the love—he just needs his "chosen one."   The suggested adoption donation for Harry is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Before applying to adopt Harry, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Pit Bulls. Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. Story
Sadie is a young Pitbull Terrier (born 2022) who is hoping for a new family who will play with her and teach her new things.  She is friendly with people of all ages as well as other pets.  The perfect home for Sadie would be with a family who has time to spend with her and give her the appropriate training that she needs.  She is leash trained and knows some commands.   Sadie does well in a crate, but may need a little help with potty training.   She won't make messes in her kenneI and if she's able to go outside within 30 minutes after drinking water, she'll be OK.   A fenced in yard is needed in her new home, she has lots of energy and would love to be able to run around and play outside.  When she comes inside, she'll be very happy to rest in your lap and give kisses! The suggested adoption donation for Sadie is $250, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Rhea is a sweet dog who prefers adults and would do well in a home without young children.  She is a Pitbull mix, born in 2022.  She has a strong desire to please and will be very obedient for a treat.  Rhea is protective of her family and is on high alert is anyone or anything is aorund that isn't normally there.  She currently takes medication to help with anxiety and it definitely makes a difference in her ability to stay calm. Her favorite treats are peanut butter, lick mats and rawhides.  Rhea is used to having her meals in some sort of puzzle. PERSONALITY Rhea is a lap dog and some days enjoys cuddling. Rhea enjoys being active and some days might want to go on multiple walks.  Other days she is sleepy and cuddly. Her energy level can fluctuate from day to day.  Sometimes when she's taking a walk, she will get tired and find a shady, grassy spot to sprawl out and rest.  She likes to play and sometimes plays kind of rough.   She can get "chompy" when playing or when someone leaves and she doesn't want them to.  She's never bitten out of aggression. Rhea has been attacked by other dogs and tends to bark when other dogs are around. TRAINING Rhea is in the process of being leash trained.  With a harness and some coaching at the beginning of a walk, she can do well and enjoys walks immensely. Commands she knows:  sity, lay down, wait (stop/pause), leave it and come here. She doesn't necessarily bark when left alone, but is not used to being kenneled for long periods. Rhea is fully house trained and is not destructive when left alone.  She only goes in her kennel to sleep. THE PERFECT HOME Rhea would do best with teens or adults and no other animals in the home.  She would love to take a few short walks during the day.  People who will give her attention and training when necessary. Fenced yard. Rhea prefers women and is more comfortable with women.  She is alright with some men. She is scared of younger kids and tends to herd or becomes authoritative around them.  Older kids (age 10+) would be okay.   The suggested adoption donation for Rhea is $250, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
