Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Yes, Older Children Weight: 75-80 lbs Petey’s journey began as a puppy when he was rescued from parvo and given a second chance at life. Now 6.5 years old, he’s once again in need of a safe and loving home where he can thrive. Petey is about 80 pounds and has been a loyal, affectionate companion to his previous family. He loves to wrestle and play with smaller dogs, snuggle up at night, and greet his favorite people at the vet with hugs and kisses. He can be shy and fearful at times, so he needs a patient and understanding home that will give him security and stability. He may bark at men in hats until he warms up, but once he trusts, he’s full of love. Because of his size and timid nature, he does best in an environment without young children. He has lived with multiple dogs and gets along well, but he’ll thrive most with an adopter or foster who can help him feel safe and supported. Right now, Petey is really struggling in boarding and needs a foster or adopter to step up for him. He’s ready for a calm, reassuring home where he can finally feel secure. Adoption Fee: $200 - Includes Spay/Neuter, Microchip, and UTD on all vaccines.

Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: No Meet Greyson: The Sweet M&M with a Soft Heart! Greyson came to Beauties in early 2020 when his previous owner could no longer care for him, and he’s been on the lookout for his forever home ever since. This handsome boy has a bit of a tough exterior but is ready to show his sweet and goofy side to the right person! Think of Greyson as a delicious M&M: a hard shell that takes a little time to break through, but once you earn his trust, you’ll discover his loving and playful center. He has some barrier issues, which means not everyone gets to see just how charming and entertaining he can be. Greyson loves to roll around and scratch his back during walks, making him a delightful companion! While he may look tough, he has a soft spot for cuddles and makes a fantastic body pillow on chilly nights. Just be warned—this boy is not a fan of getting wet! You won't catch him splashing through puddles; he prefers to keep his paws dry. Greyson needs a patient and understanding person who can take the time to get to know him and help him feel secure. He’s the perfect match for someone who appreciates the beauty of building trust and connection. And single ladies, take note—this four-legged stud muffin might be just the cuddle buddy you didn’t know you needed! If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will bring warmth and laughter into your home, Greyson is ready to meet you!

Story
Rudolph is a stunning, independent boy who's been in boarding for a while now, patiently waiting for the right foster or forever home. Though he may not get along with felines, he’s quite friendly with other dogs and enjoys being around people—on his own terms, of course! In boarding and on walks, Rudolph can appear focused and serious, almost as if he's on a mission. But once he's in a more relaxed environment, his fun-loving and playful side comes to life! He absolutely adores playtime in the yard and lives for car rides, where he lets his goofy side shine through. When it comes to affection, Rudolph is a bit like a cat—he prefers to be in control of when and how he receives it, making him a bit of a unique character! He's a smart boy, knowing commands like "look at me," "sit," "lay down," "shake," and "stay." However, he can be a little stubborn and needs a confident leader to help guide him. A household with adults only would be best, as he can get a bit nippy when he's excited. One important thing to know about Rudolph is that he has a tracheal issue, which requires lifelong medication. Because of this, he must always be walked using a harness or harness lead to avoid any pressure on his neck. If you’re an experienced dog owner who appreciates a dog with character and charm, Rudolph might just be the perfect match for you! He’ll keep you entertained, make you laugh, and be a loyal companion on every car ride and adventure.

Story
Dog Friendly: No Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Yes, Older Children Meet Jax – a happy-go-lucky guy with a big heart and a love for life. Jax is an easygoing companion who enjoys the simple things: a good walk, a comfy nap spot, and some quality cuddle time. He does have a few allergies that need to be managed, but aside from that, he's low maintenance and easy to please. On walks, he starts out with a burst of excitement and energy, often on the hunt for a tasty patch of grass or leaves, but he settles in quickly and enjoys his time outside. Jax is incredibly sweet and affectionate, always ready to curl up next to you for a nap. He would do best as the only pet in the home, and older children are preferred to help him feel safe and relaxed. If you're looking for a loyal, lovable dog to share your days with, Jax might be the perfect match.

Story
Dog Friendly: No Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Yes Helen is a sweet, playful girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She recently returned to our care and, while we weren’t given details, she now needs to be the only dog in the home. Before her adoption, Helen lived happily in a foster home with three other dogs and loved racing around the backyard. Somewhere along the way, she decided she prefers to be the sole princess in her castle. Helen is especially fond of kids and is hoping to find a human sibling who will dress her up and host tea parties. She still has plenty of puppy energy, loves to play, and always looks forward to snuggle time on the couch with her favorite soft blanket. She walks beautifully on a leash and isn’t reactive, though loud trucks and sudden noises can still startle her. Helen rides like a champ in the car and never says no to a pup cup. We’re helping her brush up on basic commands—she’s smart, just easily distracted by all the excitement around her. Helen is looking for a home where she can be the center of attention, surrounded by love, laughter, and maybe a few costumes. She’s ready to be someone’s best friend—could it be you?

Story
Beautiful Freckle showed up at the Wichita Animal Shelter in November 2024, emaciated, dirty, dehydrated, and weak. She was pulled from the shelter with a body condition score of 1/9 (the worst physical state a dog can be in prior to death from starvation). We don`t know exactly what her history is, but we do know that it was horrific and that she absolutely deserves better. Despite being starved to the very brink of death, Freckle had a sweet disposition from the moment she came to the shelter, and that sweet disposition has remained with her in her foster home and with all the humans she meets.Freckle was on a strict re-feeding program, supervised by her veterinarian, with supplements and weekly injections to help increase her nutrient absorption. Recovery has take months, but we are so proud and excited to report that Freckle has gained over ten pounds during her time with us (weight the shelter was below 17 pounds; current weight is above 28 pounds)! She has put on so much healthy muscle and is now an active, playful, happy girl!Frecks absolutely adores people. She loves her tennis ball and will run and play in the yard for as long as someone will engage with her. When she wears out, she is all about the snuggles. This sweet girl will curl up in your lap or next to you on the couch, cuddled under a blanket, and snooze. She is such a great nap buddy. Freckle is also very smart and highly food motivated. She learns quickly and would love to find a home with an active person who will work with her on learning new tricks and working on basic obedience, who will take her for walks or runs and play fetch with her in a fenced yard. We suspect that in her previous life, Freckle was forced to compete with other dogs for food and resources, and as a result, she does not get along with other animals. She typically shows little interest in other dogs, but she very much prefers to only share her space with human companions. While not her fault at all, her past trauma means she needs to be the only dog in the family. Unfortunately, that means it will be harder to find her a new home. For that reason, we are opening Freckle’s adoption to outside the Wichita area. Please share Freckle’s story and her social media posts! We need to get this sweet girl home!Freckle is a mixed-breed, spayed female, likely between one and two years old. Her ideal weight is about 30 pounds. She is housebroken and crate trained. Story
We rescued Bourbon when he was just a puppy. Someone left him in their car in the heat of summer. He is about 4 years old or so now. Bourbon is a loving, fun, high-energy pup who’s looking for a home where he can truly thrive. He has a huge heart and an even bigger zest for life! Whether he’s zooming around the yard, playing fetch, or just enjoying time with his people, he brings joy and excitement to every moment. He would do best with an active adopter who can give him plenty of space to run and burn off energy. A fenced yard or regular outdoor adventures would make him the happiest dog in the world! Despite his enthusiasm, he’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to bond. He loves attention, loves to play, and loves being part of the family. We are sad to give him up but we cannot afford to keep him any longer and no longer have the space to keep him.
