You won't catch me trying to steal your shoes or chew up your remote. I won't require constant training and daily reminders. You won't wonder how big I am gonna get or what my personality will be like when I grow up. I know outside is for the bathroom and inside is for relaxing. You have to head out? No problem, I will be here waiting when you get home. Do you want to go for a walk? Let's take a stroll. Do you want to stay home and relax instead? I'm here for that too! If you want to hang out with a buddy who gets your vibe and will be the best therapy a heart can buy then pick me! My name is Dos and I'm a 12 year old mix breed with a heart of gold and a smile that will light up a room. I am up to date on vaccinations, neutered and ready to settle right in. I get along with other dogs and older kids. My adoption fee is $100 and believe me my sugar face is worth it.

Story
Introducing: sweet Mr. Charlie (formerly known as Pansy)! This handsome little guy had quite a rough beginning to life…as he was diagnosed with parvo at 7 weeks old. He was hospitalized for over 2 weeks, and in those 2 weeks he showed his true strength and resilience…as a fight for his life he undoubtedly had! Charlie was heavily medicated, tube fed, and monitored by the hour. When he was stable enough to be released from emergency care, his current foster family took him in in-order to keep him separated from his siblings. Fast-forward to today, and Charlie is healthy, happy, strong, and thriving! His care costs were expensive…but you can’t put a price tag on a precious little life. And for Charlie’s life we are SO thankful! Born on 1/1/24 (a New Year’s baby! ) to mama Rosie, Charlie (male) is now over 5 months old. He weighs-in right around 30lbs; our best guess is that fully grown he’ll reach 60-65lbs. Charlie (with all of his cuteness ) is SUCH a lovable little guy! He has lots of energy, loves to give out kisses, and gets along so well with other dogs + humans of any/all ages! He is kennel-trained, usually sleeps through the entire night, knows how to sit, shake, high five, and lay down! As a bonus, he is highly food/treat motivated AND extremely smart! He is bell-trained and will hit the bell hanging at the door when he needs to be let out to potty. Because Charlie’s stomach continues to heal from the toll his illness took on his body, he does tend to have some digestive issues. This may/may not continue for the extent of this sweet boy’s life (good veterinary care will need to be established by his adopters ), but as of right now he’s on a special kibble diet that has proven to be beneficial for his tummy troubles. He would love a family who can exercise him regularly (he’s an active, energetic guy!), and — although not a requirement — would especially love a fenced-in yard to run and play in. He most loves being outside and sunbathing in the backyard! Charlie is being fostered with children ages 6 and 9, and has been around kiddos as young as 5. He loves them all! Though as with any pup, young kids should be taught respect + proper puppy boundaries! As of right now, it is unknown how he’d do with kitties. Charlie loves to play, loves snuggling up in cozy blankies, and just loves being loved. He is such a sweet boy…and a survivor. He will make a wonderfully loving addition to a family he’s able to call his own. Apply now + reach out via private message…just ask for Charlie! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Charlie’s $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, and microchip. ##1970301##

Story
This handsome lad is Boober (any Fraggle Rock fans out there?! ) & is a SPECIAL NEEDS adoptable boy who was born deaf. He is just under 1 year old (born on 10/21/23), and comes from mama Mokey’s litter. Our best guess is that he’s a boxer/lab/pittie mix. He weighs in @ 50-55lbs.  Boober is an AMAZING boy who — despite his inability to hear — has an undeniable zest for life! He is guaranteed to make you smile! He is crate-trained and completely potty-trained. His on-leash skills are a work in progress; he does well most of the time, but does tend to pull when he gets excited. Boober has been working very diligently with his foster family on learning sign language commands. So far he has mastered: “outside, potty, quiet, sit/down, no,” and of course a LOT of: “good boy!” This social, happy-go-lucky boy simply loves EVERYONE he meets! From humans (adults & kids), other dogs (of all ages & sizes), to cats…he is a friend to all! Boober’s all-time favorite thing = playing in water! Whether at the river, in a kiddie pool, from a bucket, or even straight out of the hose…he can’t get enough! He rides on the boat like a champ and can’t wait to get to the sandbar (to play in the water, of course!). He’s also a good copilot on car rides, though could use a bit more practice getting in & out of the car on command. He is simply the best, most lovable boy…with endless potential! We can’t wait to see him absolutely thrive in the forever home he’s been so patiently waiting for… BOOBER’S HOME REQUIREMENTS: 1 A fenced-in backyard (for his safety + secure containment) 2 LOTS of toys! He is a super-chewer, so needs plenty of tough toys (balls, tug toys, strong chews, pig ears, etc.) 3 A family who is PATIENT, provides him with plenty of adjustment time + grace as he transitions to a new home, and [of course] forever unconditional love! 4 Experience with hearing impaired/special needs pups isn’t necessarily required, but is a major perk! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Boober’s $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##1879999##

Story
Chun-Li is and Extended Stay Friend. Her adoption fee is $125. Meet Chun-Li, the sweet old girl who’s the best of both worlds! She's the perfect mix of calm and playful! Chun-Li walks nicely on a leash, making her a pleasant partner for leisurely strolls. While she may not be interested in toys, she never says no to treats or some good butt scratches. Chun-Li treasures the affection of her people above all else and is happiest when she’s close to you. If you're looking for a gentle and loving companion who prefers quiet moments of togetherness over the hustle and bustle, Chun-Li is the perfect match for you! **Here are some words from her foster family!*** "She has been absolutely flourishing here and has turned into a fairly active pup! We have been working on her stamina with walks with her joints in mind and are now up to about 1.5-2 miles at a time. Her joints don’t seem to bug her at all, she no longer has trouble hopping on the couch. She demands walks every day (it’s quite funny) and has a blast. We have loved fostering her again, she is a true queen!" Chun-Li would do fine in a home with children of all ages. We are not sure of how she is around cats Chun-Li can be selective with her doggy friends so a dog-to-dog meet is required before going into a home with other dogs. Chun-Li recently went on a Doggy Day Out with one of our volunteers and did wonderfully. She did great in the car, enjoyed a pup-cup and did lots of exploring. She was described as sweet, gentle, kind, beautiful and inquisitive. Here is what our volunteers have to say about her: "Chun-Li is a super sweet, docile, gentle girl. She did great riding in the car and going to the parks and exploring. She is such a sweetheart. I hope she finds an amazing "furever" home very soon." Chun-Li is a 7.5 year old female Pit bull who is fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and currently weighing 66.5lbs. *If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Meet Remington, a reserved and selective Pit Bull Terrier who takes his time getting to know new people. During his stay at CHRS, he’s shown that he only trusts those who are patient and willing to build a bond with him. Remington is gentle when taking treats and will even offer a polite sit for you. He loves toys that make noise and is great on the leash. Because he sometimes forgets his size during playtime, we recommend a home with children aged 13 and up. We are not sure how Remington would do in a home with cat friends. Remington should do great in a home with other dogs given a proper introduction. Remington has recently done excellent on a few field trips out of the shelter. He has visited coffee shops, gone to parks, and hiked trails. He has been described as attentive, super friendly, and calm. He does great with walking on a leash and likes to stick close to his human. Here is what our volunteers have to say about him: "He did super on his Doggy Day Out! We walked by a few people at the marsh and no reaction towards people. He stayed right at my side ignoring them. Remington is a perfect pup who remains calm and very quiet being out. He is very attentive and aware of where you are. Love this pup and any home would be happy to have him." "Remington did great on his Doggy Day Out!! He warmed up real quick to me and liked to be near me, he always seemed to check to see where I was on walks when he was in front. He does great on walks and stays right by your side nice and easy. He is very friendly and loves lounging in the grass catching some sun. Remington loved being out exploring and getting to know one another. He is a wonderful pup. Love this dog!" "Today for a doggy day out, I had Remington! I was warned of stranger danger when I picked him up and he was pretty stand-off-ish with me for the first 30 minutes or so and then he had zero issues with any bypassers. I read his bio and used extra care and patience with him, and then he warmed up to my daughter and I and ended up being the most gentle lover cuddly boy ever! My daughter actually cried when we dropped him back off at 4 at CRHS. He got a pup cup, and we hiked the Great River Trail by David Reays for a few miles and then went to another park. Remy walked very well on a leash and waited for me if I was stopped for a minute. He was very attentive to us and always made eye contact to make sure he knew where we were and what was going on. He was alert but also very mellow and is such a trusting soul." Remington is a 3-year-old pitbull terrier. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and is currently weighing 56lbs. If you’re ready to earn Remington’s trust, he could be the perfect companion for you! *If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
