Story
Kai came to us as part of a cruelty investigation by ACPD and ACPO. He came to us starved, body score 1/9. He had a loving home for much of his life but fell on hard times when his owner died. Fortunately, with police intervention, he was rescued and came to our shelter for care and re-homing. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and fully vaccinated now. Kai is a good boy. Easy to be around, very calm. However, he is dog selective, so we recommend that he be the only dog in the home. We also recommend a home with no small children. Kai is pretty good on a leash and knows basic commands. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Secondary Color: White Age: 6yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
If you are interested in OLIVIA or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. This adorable girl is OLIVIA! She is a sweet, sweet girl who can be a little shy when you first meet her. However watching her personality bloom as she becomes comfortable with her new surroundings is incredibly rewarding. OLIVIA is perfectly content to spend a lazy day on her dog bed watching a movie with her person, or, if you’re in the mood for some exercise, OLIVIA is there and ready. She absolutely loves going for walks and is learning how to walk well on a leash. OLIVIA is absolutely fabulous with other dogs. She is exponentially happier and more confident with canine companionship, so she is only available to forever families who have at least one other resident dog. She will fill your heart with joy and your life with happy memories for many years to come. Her $540 adoption fee covers her interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area. For an adoption application on OLIVIA click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Have you ever met a person who just exudes joy at all times? Well FREYA is the dog version of that human. She is happiness personified. Being with her, you can’t help but feel her bliss and smile. She herself always has a smile on her face and loves to soak up attention from everyone she meets. Whether she’s outside playing or inside lounging on the couch, she loves to be where the people are. She’s doing wonderful in her current foster home with her two doggy foster brothers, a 95 lb cane corso mix and a 75 lb lab. She loves to cuddle with them as well as play with them in the backyard. She also has a cat foster brother who she gets along great with and even hangs out with him on the bed when he’s in the mood for cuddles. FREYA also loves to go on car rides and just take everything in. She would love to be your sidekick for every adventure that comes your way. She likes to talk to you and let you know what she’s thinking! Her little “ooowoo’s” are absolutely precious! She tends to talk to strangers as well , but it’s just her saying “Hello!”. She is crate trained and is used to being in her crate while her foster parent is gone. She is truly a one of a kind with a heart of gold. She’s an affectionate, fun loving, loyal girl just waiting for her new forever family to love.
