Story
My husband and I rescued Rye from his previous situation hoping to have him quickly placed elsewhere. While we love him to death, our 2 elderly dogs want nothing to do with him. To keep him safe, we have to keep him separate, and it’s not ideal for anyone (one dog or another is always crying and lonely). Rye has come a long way in the time we’ve had him. Before we took him in, he was tied outside, scared of raised hands, and constantly looking for opportunities to run away. Now, he simply wants to play tug and take naps. He is still learning his own strength, but he is very eager to please and a quick learner. He still has remnants of ‘stranger danger’ when meeting people through fences and on walks, but he loves meeting new people inside the house. Once he knows you, he loves you. What Rye really needs, is a patient home that understands pitties and will continue training him. He has no adoption fee, but every applicant will be thoroughly vetted.

Story
Petunia was a stray I took in over the summer. She is around 1-2 years old. She loves all people and gets along with dogs when given the time to meet them. I have to rehome her because she has a strong prey drive and cannot live with my 2 cats. She is mostly potty trained, but tends to have an accident when left home alone for longer periods of time (6-8hours). She has lived with another dog before and loved him. She loves children but forgets shes a big girl. She loves tug of war, cuddling, walks, and car rides. She is not a fan of being crated and becomes stressed when put in one (destroys bed/tries to break out). She currently has her own room she stays in when I leave because she will get into things if she has access to the whole house.

Story
Meet Gibson: A gentle soul with a show-stopping coat and an even sweeter heart. On the small end of the medium-size range, Gibson is a loving, affectionate boy with striking orange coloring that absolutely glows in the sunlight, accented by bold black markings and a charming, boxer-like blocky face you won’t forget.Gibson is a dream on leash — calm, quiet, and easy to walk. He enjoys taking his time, especially if there are people around. If someone stops to say hello and offer a little attention, Gibson is delighted to soak it up. He’s social without being pushy and truly enjoys human connection. One of his most endearing traits? His hugs. Gibson isn’t a jumper or a bulldozer — he’s a gentle hugger, standing up just enough to lean in and softly snuggle, like he’s wrapping you in a warm hello. He also enjoys playing with other dogs and would be happy to have a canine friend to share playtime with.If you’re looking for a dog who is affectionate, beautifully unique, and full of quiet charm, Gibson might be your perfect match. Story
******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Addie, 4.5 year old, spayed female pitbull terrier mix, 45 pounds. Addie is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Addie was saved from the streets of a north Houston neighborhood known for being a dumping ground for unwanted pets. When she was rescued, she was nearly hairless from mange, massively underweight and had experienced only a lifetime of struggle and raising litters. Addie is still learning what it means to be a loved house dog, but she is a willing and promising pupil and is loving her new lease on life! She is crate trained and stays in the kennel while her foster is at work for up to 8-9hrs, as well as sleeping in there at night. She has been trusted to sleep loose on occasion and has not had any issues in the house. She's still perfecting her house skills and may have the occasional accident until she settles into her new Furever home's routine. We do not have history with cats or children. In general, we recommend homes with kids who are old enough to understand and respect animal behavior cues and would always suggest supervised interactions until all parties are well accustomed to the other. Addie is a sweet, gentle girl, so she would likely do well around young kids, but may prefer older, calmer pre-teens and teenagers. Addie never had doggy "friends" before so she's not super playful. When she does interact, she greatly prefers her male friends of equal to bigger size (40-60lbs) and picks up on their cues to cease playtime. She is very curious and pulls towards the female dogs she's encountered but has yet found a girlfriend she enjoys playing with. This cutie has not shown any aggression around food or other resources but she is very much is a hungry, hungry hippo! She will try to eat everyone else's food, so we do recommend feeding her separately. Her foster says she is realizing that she will be getting another meal, and is getting much better with this. Addie has a few wishes for her new home: *walkies for 20-30 mins twice a day *a yard to roam and run around in *a male dog sibling to cuddle up and sleep next to *couches aplenty since she's in her Soft Life Era *all of the love and affection she missed out on while fending for herself on the street Although she is timid at first, but once she trusts you, Addie is overflowing with love. She is a survivor and has proven that the resilience of dogs will not be diminished, no matter how unfortunate life or unkind humans have been to them. We all can’t wait to see her living her best life with her new family! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
