Story
NOT DOG-FRIENDLYAvi was originally picked up as a stray in the town of Cicero and weighs about 68 pounds. He was adopted for several months before his new family unfortunately had to move and couldn`t take Avi with them. Avi is a sweet and gentle brindle boy with an absolute adoration of stuffies and a love of the pool (which is better with toys in it). He`s an easy walker for our volunteers and loves receiving affection before, during, and after walks. If you want a calm and easy going family dog, Avi would be the perfect choice.

Story
King was picked up as a stray in the city of Syracuse and weighs around 76 pounds. At first he had other things to do, but after getting comfortable with people he`s turned into a big cuddle bug who will sit on your feet for head scratches. King is up for absolutely any kind of play: fetch, tug, go find it. He`ll do it all! How is he for treats? Well volunteers have said he does little `hippo hops` for them because he`s so excited, but he also remembers to take them nicely. He does have some prey drive, so having him around small critters probably isn`t a good idea. But he`s a smart boy who knows sit, down, touch, and is learning spin! He`s also learning his manners when it comes to other dogs.

Story
Lily was brought in as a stray with her buddy Liam and weighs about 48 pounds. She`s been a quiet and reserved girl so far who is an absolute cuddle bug. That`s not to say she won`t perform squeaker-ectomies on her stuffies or give you a challenge in a game of tug of war. She`s also pretty smart to boot as she already knows sit, paw, down and come.NOT DOG-FRIENDLY

Story
Delaney was picked up as a stray in Baldwinsville and weighs about 85 pounds. She`s a sweet and gentle girl and an easy walker who minds her leash manners. She`s slowly been turning into a cuddle bug and showing off her affectionate side. So far we`ve figured out that while she likes treats, she`d much rather have affection.

Story
Benny was picked up as a stray in DeWitt and weighs about 80 pounds. He`s a goofy lug who likes treats but he also likes to do his best impression of an ox and pull you along for walks. Benny is also cuddly and does so in the form of gentle body slams so he can flop over in your lap and get belly rubs like the goofy boy he is.

Story
Wendell came in as a stray picked up in Baldwinsville and weighs about 45 pounds. So far we’ve learned that Wendell loves treats, although he’s still mindful and gentle when taking them, and loves to play tug and hang out with people he’s familiar with. He still needs a little work on manners but is coming around to be a very sweet and respectful boy. DOG-FRIENDLY

Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation FREE if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Mei is the kind of dog who bounces into your day with pure joy and a big smile that makes everything feel lighter. She is a happy-go-lucky sweetheart with a playful spark, the perfect mix of medium-high energy when the toys come out and soft cuddles when she’s ready to settle in. She is a natural comedian. Mei gives full body hugs, showers you with kisses and chases her toys with so much enthusiasm that she sometimes tosses them for herself. At about 2 years old and 45 pounds, she is a charming mystery mix with perky ears, a chocolate and tan coat and a stocky little frame that only adds to her character. She might have a hint of Doberman, maybe some Australian Kelpie and some Pit Bull Terrier. Mei already knows how to sit for a treat and she learns quickly. She is doing well with housetraining when kept on a routine and she trots happily into her crate for a treat, settling after a little whine. She loves to zoom around the yard and will play fetch for as long as you want. If you love watching a dog light up with pure joy, she is your girl. Mei does have food allergies and needs to stay on a hydrolyzed protein prescription diet. When she arrived she had no fur and was miserable, but with proper care she has blossomed into a shiny, happy pup. She will need to stay on her special diet to keep feeling her best. She gets along well with friendly, submissive dogs, seems neutral with cats and enjoys every person she meets. She rides well in the car and would benefit from a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her zoomies. After a tough start in life, Mei is more than ready for the fairy tale ending she deserves. If you think you might be her match, reach out to us for more information.    Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Bogart, 7 year old handsome Bulldog mix rescued from a rural Louisiana Shelter.  He was very sick and transferred to Shreveport Vet for treatment of advanced heartworm which is now completed. Bogart is now in foster care in NY.  He loves, loves people and affection.  Bogart would do well with an active family that can provide him with shorter play times more often.  The only thing he loves as much as people is playing and being a big goofy boy.  He is strong and will require continued training to be his best self.  He is laid back and does well with dogs and gentle with kids.  If you would like to have Bogart join your family please fill out an adoption application.  His $200 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY. ##2410764##
