Story
Meet Igor (AKA Iggy)! Iggy came to us as a 10 to 12-week-old puppy back in March. At that time, we weren’t sure if he would make it or if he might lose one of his back legs. He had numerous bite wounds in various stages of infection and healing. (There’s a graphic picture on our Dogs of Del Norte County FB page after his first major surgery.) But Iggy is a true example of resilience. After multiple surgeries, daily debridements requiring sedation, bandages sutured to his skin, and wearing a cone for six months, he battled infections and allergies. He endured daily medications and several weekly medicated baths. Through it all, Iggy never lost his spirit. Iggy is now almost a year old, and weighs 59 lbs. He is dog & kid friendly and loves all the toys. Iggy thrives as the center of attention when he attends adoption events and has amazing radar ears! A fundraiser was started when he arrived, and thanks to donations from our followers and the Humane Society of Del Norte covering the remaining balance of his vet bill, this young pup and his leg were saved! Iggy is now ready for adoption. Iggy is allergic to flea bites/saliva, so he’ll need to stay on long-acting oral flea medication. He’s currently on Credelio, which costs $125 for six months. He’ll also need a couple of baths a month with Viomiox, available on Amazon for about $40 for a 6-8 month supply. There are videos and additional photos of Iggy on our Dogs of Del Norte County FB page. Come check out our adoptable dogs at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9:30AM-3:30PM, or by appointment. An adoption application will be required from those interested in providing a fab furever home to our dogs. Please call us at (707) 464-7235 for additional information. Story
Meet Quinn! She's an adult female (Pittie/Boxer?) about 3 years old and 48 lbs. Quinn came to us as a stray with severe skin issues that hadn’t been addressed in a long time. With quality non-chicken as protein food, flea treatment & medicated baths (she does well with her spa time), she is looking better already. Due to her skin looking so bad she hasn’t had her photo shoot yet…she is hoping that she will get an application & go to her new home so that the photo shoot won’t be necessary. This girl is something else. She will make you smile, make you laugh & make you shake your head with her antics. She rocked her kid testing & has been dog friendly. She went up to WA with the Transport Team & did really well. She even made friends with a cute boy dog at the rest stop. She enjoys play time with her dog buddies and would do best in a no cat home. She is a low-rider, with some speed! Quinn plays her own form of fetch, where you throw the ball, she goes after it like a rocket and comes back, but no release (she does have a soft mouth and will allow you to take the ball from her). She also enjoys a good belly rub! Quinn is basically a puppy, and her new family will need to be prepared for puppy shenanigans! Come check out Quinn and our other dogs available for adoption at 2650 Washington Blvd, Crescent City, CA 95531. Kennels are open Mon-Fri, 9AM-4PM, or by appointment.
