Story
Little Miss Tater was abandoned. When we found her, she was only skin and bones. She has really been progressing well, and has a great personality. She was a bit sad and skeptical at first, but has really warmed up to us. She is the sweetest pit bull mix we've ever encountered. We believe because she was abused, that she appreciates our love so very much. Tater is kennel broke & leash broke and has been spayed and had all her shots. Her favorite are belly rubs! She is going to make a great friend to a special somebody. Are you her forever family?

Story
Mimi was brought to us awhile back and was nothing but skin and bones. She has really come a long way. She is house trained and walks on a leash great. She would make an excellent guard dog as she is very protective. We are unsure how she is with kids as we have never had any for her to be around. She is a wonderful pet and is ready to make you her best friend.

This sweet girl is Cookie. She is 4 years old (approx. DOB: Spring 2021). Cookie is a Pit Bull Terrier mix. Cookie needs a home of her own, a 'forever' home. Cookie is an amazing dog who likes to snuggle, cuddle and even sun bathe. She is active and playful and good with other dogs. She does guard her toys and things. Her coat coloring is tan with some brown. Full grown and sort of medium in size.  Cookie needs a calm home with adults, and perhaps older children. Coconut is about 4 years old (DOB: 2021), and a female mix breed; possibly some Labrador/ Pit Bull Terrier/Shepherd. She is a sweet girl, who loves cuddles with people.  Coconut is a good looking, medium to large size dog. Coconut is very laid back type dog, and would make a good walking buddy, or maybe a couch potato pal.  She is best with other, calmer dogs, like herself. We think she would prefer being an 'only' dog. Coconut's coat coloring is white and tan (sort of beige). You can meet Coconut at Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter. Hades is Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador mix. He is one of 8 puppies found on the road and brought to our shelter. Born between first and middle part of July 2025. Hades' coloring is all gray with small bit a white on chest. He is wearing a black velvet collar. Siblings are Apollo, Artemis, Poseidon, Zeus, Demeter, Hera and Hermes. We would like you to meet SKYE! We think she is about 5 years old (DOB: 2020). According to the Dog Scanner App, that we use from time to time, Skye is a mix of multiple breeds: American Pit Bull Terrier 21.6 %, Rat Terrier 15.9%, Brazilian Terrier 11.8% and Chihuahua 10.7%. Not sure what a DNA test would show. Skye was rescued off the streets in July 2021, by a woman who kept her awhile, then brought to Amarillo SPCA. She was an indoor/outdoor pet and is crate trained. She is doing fair at our shelter, but somewhat terrified of everyone. Also frightened of loud noises.  If you are interested in Skye, she will need multiple visits before she could go home with anyone. She will need lots of time, patience, love and socialization. But this good-looking dog does need a loving, 'forever' home. Please consider coming to our shelter at 11901 S. Coulter, Tues.-Sat between 12 and 5 p.m. to see this girl.
