Meet Pookie, a 10-week-old male pit puppy who is basically a tiny ball of energy wrapped in wrinkles, kisses, and mischief. Pookie is in his full-on puppy era, which means he wakes up ready to play, learns something new, plays some more, and then crashes hard like it’s his job. He has lots of energy and will thrive in a home that’s excited to keep him busy with playtime, enrichment, and all the adventures a growing puppy deserves. If you’ve been missing a reason to laugh every day, Pookie is happy to volunteer. He’s already working on his manners and is off to a great start. This little guy is learning the basics like sit and lay down, and with consistency (and snacks), he’s proving he’s a smart cookie. He’s still a baby, so he’ll need patience, guidance, and continued training, but he’s eager to learn and wants nothing more than your attention and approval. Pookie loves people and craves interaction. He’s the kind of puppy who wants to be involved in whatever you’re doing, even if he’s not quite sure what’s happening yet. He’s playful, curious, and always ready for the next fun thing—whether that’s chasing toys, exploring the yard, or practicing his new skills. This little pit pup is looking for a family who understands that puppies are work, but also understands how rewarding that work can be. This cream-colored boy is as handsome as they come, and he knows it! Arthur is the definition of a lovable, clingy, oversized marshmallow. If he could melt into your lap, he absolutely would… despite being roughly the size of a small horse. He just wants to be one with his person—is that really too much to ask? Arthur is mellow, sweet, and wonderfully clumsy, trotting around like a baby giraffe who hasn’t quite figured out where his legs end. He longs to please his people, be adored, and get all the belly rubs his big body can possibly soak in. And water? Oh, this boy LOVES water. He doesn’t just splash—he submerges his entire self like he’s auditioning to be a sea creature. A water-loving family would be his absolute paradise. HISTORY Arthur was found as a stray puppy with 2 littermates in Richland, WA. At the time that they were found, they were estimated to be roughly 4 months old. Since we don't know their true DOB, we have designated 3/27/25 as their DOB. Arthur is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. He is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide he should join your family! SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING Arthur is thriving in his foster home and is doing wonderful with the resident dogs (100lb Akita, and 20 lbs mixed breed). He enjoys playful canine friends and is growing more confident every day. He is also fostered with a toddler and has been pretty gentle with her—no jumping, no knocking over, just requests and appreciation for tiny human affection. Arthur is also fostered with a cat, but we do not believe him to be a candidate for a cat home at this time. While he does not mind the cat being in high spaces, he chases them as soon as they hop down to his level. Though his chase can be called off, we don't believe this to be his ideal environment. Arthur LOVES meeting new people and will gladly lean his entire body weight into anyone willing to pet him. He’s a velcro dog through and through. He would thrive in a home where someone works from home or is around often. Being close to his human is his love language. Arthur is around 8 months old, which means he is officially entering the doggy teenage stage—also known as the “I forgot everything I’ve ever learned but I’m still very cute” phase. Think of it as his goofy middle school era. He may test boundaries, get distracted by a leaf blowing across the yard, and have opinions about things he didn’t notice before. It’s all normal, temporary, and honestly pretty hilarious. With consistency, patience, and fun training sessions, he’ll grow right through it and come out the other side an amazing adult dog. HEALTH STATUS General info Arthur is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, sterilized, and dewormed. He appears to be in good health. Once full grown, he will likely be somewhere in the 50-70 lbs. range. ADOPTION The adoption fee for Arthur is $425. Meet lovely Saiga! Born approximately July 26, 2021 she came to us via Tri City Animal Control. We initially treated her for parvo while in the care of animal control-she was lined up to go to a rescue in western WA when her former owners came forward and took her back into their care. Fast forward a bit and she landed back at animal control, we couldn’t let her remain in the shelter and so here she is! Saiga is amazing with people-she has the best kisses and loves human affection. Saiga's only weakness is that she's not good with other animals so will need to be in an only dog home. Even after training she is not safe around other animals so it's very important that she's adopted as an only pet. She will require a secure 6 foot fence - no chain link and no exceptions. Saiga has a lot of love to give and will make a great companion. Her best fit home will be an adult only one. Applications to foster or adopt Saiga can be submitted at www.mikeyschance.com
