Story
Clocking in for her 24 hour Best-Friend shift is Muffin! The name is so fitting because she is soft-hearted and there isn’t a bad time for one, in other words- hard to refuse. My favorite thing about Muffin? Well, it’s an absolute tie between the way her floppy-ears bounce when she so much as picks up the pace and the way she so gently will carry a stuffie in her mouth! Heart swell and burst level cuteness! Want to see Muffin’s floppy-ears and her gentle stuffie-carry? Here you go! https://youtu.be/NsFazUkCiWo Let’s get her “stats” out of the way, keep in mind, we can only estimate age and offer an observation on breed since she is a rescue. Muffin is estimated to be 3 years old, she weighs 54 lbs, and is likely a pittie/staffie mix. Muffin is so fortunate and is living in a loving foster home while she waits for her forever. She does live with dogs and cats but she hasn’t been fully introduced to everyone yet- they are taking it slow and letting Muffin soak in some solo time. Her foster shared that Muffin is fully house trained and crate trained and sleeps in her kennel quietly through the night. She may whine a bit when first kenneled, you can’t blame a girl for trying, but she settles in just fine and snoozes the night away. She’s also a great car rider, the kind of passenger who makes errands feel like a cute little routine instead of a whole production, though she has been caught sleeping on the job before. On leash, Muffin is easy to walk, but she can be unsure in brand-new places so she is looking for someone who can help her build confidence with gentle, steady outings, praise, and the kind of pace that says, “No rush, we’ve got time.” She’s not dreaming of a busy city environment, she has country/suburbs energy. Picture a yard, a calm neighborhood, maybe a little pet store within walking distance. A girl can dream. Simply, somewhere she can take her time and feel secure. When Muffin meets new people she likes to take it slow. She isn’t the dog that is going to run up to new people and make the first move, she is the type that will nudge up to you when you come to her and make a gentle connection. Insider-tip - treats fast track friendship. The sweetest part is how clearly she wants connection once she feels safe. She’ll approach for kisses and happily settle beside you, she is the cutest, quiet little side-kick. When it comes to other dogs, Muffin does best with slow, thoughtful introductions. She is shy at first, but once greetings are done, she is perfectly comfortably roaming alongside a calm companion. She was introduced to a variety of dogs to get a feel of her “type” and it was easy to see, she is happiest with a calm, aloof dog who isn’t trying to turn every moment into a wrestling match. She would also do great as an only dog since she’s such a couch potato love- bug at heart. It has already been mentioned but I don’t want it be overlooked so let’s circle back to my two favorite things about Muffin and why. First, Muffin’s ears are the floppiest things on planet Earth. When she runs, they bounce like tiny wings, and it is impossible not to smile. Add to that her love of stuffie toys and the way she carries them so gently in her mouth like she’s delivering precious cargo. The only time she gets a little “rowdy” with a stuffie is in a brief tug-of-war moment, and even then… she will absolutely let you win. (We love a generous queen.) We introduced Muffin to our house cat and she was curious but polite. Before determining if she is truly feline-friend material, we would like her to experience an extended visit with cats so if you are interested we will set her up for a sleepover with our Kitty-Committee to get a better report on how she does. Let’s do a quick recap on Muffin’s ideal home. She would love a yard and a calm environment. An only-dog home or a home with a calm, low-key dog friend is best. And, people who believe in the magic of Muffin Time - slow starts, gentle hands, yummy treats and celebrating those sweet, tiny wins that turn into big trust. If you’re here looking for an absolutely adorable, mellow bestie with 100% bouncy ears, a tender heart, and a love for cute stuffie toys, Muffin is ready and waiting to be your dream girl! Story
You know how some dogs you can just look at an know they are happy, friendly, and good company? That was exactly how I felt the moment I saw Hanky. It was across the yard and I just knew he was going to be a good-time boy and I was not wrong. If pure joy were a dog, it would be Hanky Baby. He is estimated to be just over 6 months old so he has his happy personality paired with the wiggles and sweetness of the puppy days. Simply, he is the definition of happy-go-lucky, friendly, affectionate, social, and always ready to make a new best friend. Take a look at his sweetness in action here then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/jEhVkHKi7FU Hanky has been so fortunate and is fostered in a loving home. This means he is both house and crate trained and has a great base of those wonderful house manners all dogs need. His foster mom said this when we asked about Hanky- “This one was ALMOST a foster fail. This dog has stolen our family’s heart and is the new mascot for our school bus stop! He is such a lover, loves to be around people, and will just sit at your feet. He’s super sweet with kids and even though he’s a puppy he does not jump on the kids and just wants to be near them. Hanky Bear cannot meet a stranger with people, dogs, and cats – he just wants to play and be in the middle of all of the fun. He’s got a sweet puppy personality and doesn’t want any drama and just wants to have a good time!” Isn’t that the sweetest endorsement for a good boy!? We saw the same thing- Hanky loves people with his whole heart and he greets everyone like they’re his most favortie person (because in his world, right then, they are!). He comes in for love and is quick to soak up any offerings of affection. He is the epitome of the dog that will make you smile even on a real bad day. Plus, he already know sit so yeah, he is pretty much perfect! If you want to teach him a few more things youll be happy to know his sweet nature is perfectly paired with a boy who will work for a treat. That treat motivation and eagerness to please makes him a dream to teach and he will quickly pick up more skills as he grows. Like all puppies, Hanky has things to learn- just the basics though. One area he will need continued guidance is on- leash walking but he is responsive, sensitive in all the right ways, and thrives when someone shows him what’s expected. Hanky is perfectly social with other dogs and adapts his playstyle beautifully to playmates of different personalities. He’s respectful with calmer dogs, happy to romp with playful ones, and shows excellent puppy communication- even backing off politely in moments when the big dogs get to be overwhelming. With a gentle, medium-energy dog at home, he’d have the perfect buddy to grow up with. He did wonderfully with the cat during his assessment and is at the ideal age to learn good manners around feline friends. With guidance and consistency, he can absolutely become a cat-compatible household member. Hanky Baby is an active kiddo who would thrive with a family that enjoys walks, hikes, outings, and positive training. Older kids would be a better match at this stage simply because he is still mastering the art of containing his enthusiasm and those jumpy with his greetings, but this will train away so if your kids know how to say NO! then he will be a perfect fit. He is sunshine in puppy form- sweet, loving, eager, and ready to grow into the very best version of himself. If a joyful companion to join in life’s adventures is what you are looking for- Hanky Baby is ready to love you and yours with everything he’s got. Ready to welcome Hanky home?
