You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Georgia! This delightful pup wagged her way into our hearts on March 25, 2024, arriving from the local dog pound. Initially a bit timid, Georgia quickly adapted and now radiates boundless puppy enthusiasm, approaching each day as an adventure waiting to unfold. With her insatiable curiosity and infectious joy, every walk is a lively escapade! Georgia is not only spirited but also incredibly affectionate. Petite and lean, she loves playtime and cuddles. She does well with adults and kids, and while she’s done fine on a leash around cats, she may be tempted to chase them—it’s hard to know for sure. Georgia enjoys running along the fence with her neighbor dogs and may thrive with a male dog or a non-dominant female, as she prefers not to be dominated. One of Georgia's cutest traits is her endearing head tilt when you talk to her, as though she’s genuinely trying to understand every word. Despite her Lyme-positive diagnosis, Georgia responded well to treatment, is symptom-free, and fully Lyme-vaccinated. She’s up-to-date on all her health needs and ready for a life filled with growth, discovery, and love. With her beauty, charm, and big heart, Georgia is eagerly waiting to become a beloved member of a forever family. Are you ready to open your heart and home to this remarkable pup? Story
Allow us to introduce you to ROSCOE. He is a 2 year old owner surrender to our pound. His owner got into some legal trouble and could no longer care for ROSCOE. ROSCOE is a great dog. He is extremely athletic and loves to run and play. He can chase a ball for as long as you are willing to throw it. He will often bring it back to you, but when he does, it means he wants you to throw it again so he can take off running. ROSCOE is housebroken and neutered, and is extremely treat motivated to please. His rabies vaccine is current but his DHLPPC will need to be updated. This boy is active and would do best with an energetic family, but ROSCOE likes to cuddle up and snuggle too. He is good with kids and seems fine with the other dogs at the pound, but a meetngreet will be necessary. He will be protective of those he loves and will alert you to anyone coming around. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Open: Monday-Friday 10am-4pm; Saturday 9am-2pm; Closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions welcomed. Applications are available at the pound and online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers, org. Apple users must access our website and submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee.

Story
POE is now available for adoption! POE is short for GRIPPO, but we have been calling him EL CHAPPO. Why, you ask? No reason, other than a volunteer started calling him that and it kind of stuck! POE has not had much stability, luck or happiness in his 3 years on earth, but we are dedicated to changing that. He was originally part of a cruelty case where he was found in a locked basement as skinny as he is now, unsocialized with nails grown into the pads of his paws, and skin and ear infections. He didn’t do well in the shelter environment where he was for a number of months so he was moved into foster care where he blossomed and learned how to become the amazing, loving dog he is now. His foster families (he had 2) were wonderful and we are grateful for all the love and care they bestowed on him. In November, he was adopted by a family in Tusc Cty who made the 8 hour round trip to adopt him. When they got home, they insisted they were given the wrong dog and that POE was not the POE they wanted. Then they refused to respond back. Two weeks later, POE was spotted on Gundy Ridge in Bowerston. He ultimately found a hide out in a saw mill where he ultimately had to be trapped. And that is the short version of how he came to be at the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH. POE has won all our hearts. Even if he didn’t have such a sad life, he still would have won our hearts because he is the sweetest and most loving boy. His fosters were working on housebreaking. When you spend your life in a locked dark basement, you get to pee and poop wherever you want. With us, he hasn’t asked to go out, but in his kennel, he uses his doggy door and in the office, he goes right to the drain in the floor in the other room and pees in it! POE is so treat motivated, you might be able to train him to use a toilet. He also has some separation anxiety. He wants to know where you are at all times and follow you if he can. His foster crated him when she wasn’t home, put a blanket over the crate and played soft music for him, and he was fine until she returned. He loves other dogs and would do best with a family who has at least one. He will play and run with them, and loves to cuddle with them (and people too). We don’t know about kids or cats. POE does have a sensitive stomach. He’s been eating Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach and the tooting has stopped. We’ve been adding pumpkin to it as well. He’s up to date on vaccines and neutered. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907. Open M-F 10am-4pm; Sat. 9am-2pm. Closed Sundays and holidays. Out of state adoptions welcomed. Apply online at harrisoncountydogpoundvolunteers.org. Apple users must submit application using Google, not Safari. $40 adoption fee. 740-942-4080

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello! My name is Keely. I came to the Olive Branch as a stray. A nice man found me and brought me here in hopes of finding my owner. Sadly, no one came looking for me, so here I am looking for a new forever home. I have been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, combo tested (I tested postitive for Lyme Disease and have had my 30-day doxycycline treatment), and I am also up to date with my preventives. I may be a bit shy at first, but I'm a sweet, active girl that loves attention. Once we become friends, I just wanna give you lots of kisses. A doggy friend might be nice, but I would like to have a meet and greet with any dogs I would live with before you take me home.  I am unsure what to think about cats, so please no cats. If you are interested, please visit olivebranch.wv.org to fill out an application! I would love to take long walks and be your snuggle buddy. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 30, 2024, 4:48 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello Friends! My name is Ringo. I was found roaming not far from the Olive Branch and two teenage girls helped an employee bring me here while I waited for my owner to come and claim me... Unfortunatly, no one came to claim me and now I am searching for my forever home. I am a shy timid guy when you first meet me, but with a little patience and attention, I'll come give you kisses and love. I am an active guy that loves to run and play with toys in the fenced in yard. I know how to sit and walk well on a leash properly. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and my combo test was all negative.  If you want a sweet mannered and loving companion visit our website (www.olivebranchwv.org) to fill out an application! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello everyone! My name is Phineas, I was at a county shelter that was full and needing space, when two amazing women showed up and rescued me. I was brought to the Olive Branch to  search for my forever home! I have been neutered, fully vaccinated, and my preventatives are current. I have also had my combo test- heart worm/Lyme Disease/Erlichia/Anaplasma. I tested negative on everything except Lyme Disease and I've had my 30-day doxycycline treatment. I have enviromental allergy which can be taken care of with my allergy shot and sometimes I only need it every other month if im not itchy or red. I also recieve a medicated bath once a week or only once every week. I am a very chilll and laid back guy. I do love to run and play with toys in the fenced in yard here. I am good with most dogs but would like a meet and greet before you bring me home! I love, love, love to chase cats, so no cats for me!
