In his 3 short years, SCRAPPY has fathered a number of children, at least twice with the same baby mama and produced 9 adorable kids the most recent time. Luckily for SCRAPPY, he doesn’t have to pay child support since he’s unemployed anyway. SCRAPPY isn’t looking for work. What he’s looking for is a family. Once upon a time he had one but last August, they brought him to the Harrison County Dog Pound in Cadiz, OH and said they found him and SCRAPPY has been looking for a new family ever since. There will be no more 4 legged kids in SCRAPPY’s life because he parted with his family jewels a number of months ago, but he wouldn’t mind some 2 legged kids in his life because he lived with them before and loves them. SCRAPPY’s motto is “don’t worry, be happy” and he’s got the whirling tail to prove he practices what he preaches. He’s a happy go lucky dude who is highly treat motivated and wants to be wherever you are. SCRAPPY is good natured and plays dress up with us. Neika is a 2 year-old sweetheart who was surrendered to Pet Search. She weighs approximately 50 pounds. She is house broken, and can ring a bell when she wants to go outside. After being adopted, she came back to us--she became the alpha/protector at her new home, which resulted in being aggressive with smaller dogs. Pittie (3/23/19) has had so many tragedies in her life...She was a stray 9 month old puppy when she came to pet Search and was adopted a few months later by Tami and Bart. Two weeks after her adoption, Tami suddenly passed away. Pittie became Bart's center of his world as they both grieved the loss of Tami. Bart suddenly passed away in June and Pittie is grieving once again. She is back with Pet Search and we have given her some time to adjust to her loss. Pittie was raised with a cat and she was originally in a foster home with other dogs, but we are slowing working with her to check her dog selectiveness as she was an only dog for almost 4 years. Pittie has had so many losses in her short life- we are hoping to find another person or family that will provide stability and let her become the love of their life. Hello, I am currently known as Chewy. I am a American Pitbull Terrier. I am told to be 2 years old (11/19/23) I was found by my current fosters, left abandoned by a previous family who treated me poorly. My fosters guess that a man either abused me or trained me roughly from how skittish I can be towards men. I am potty trained and currently crate training. I have the tendency to get into things when I get bored. I enjoyed playing with stuffy toys and exploring. Because I am young, I am a bit of a jumper when I get excited. I'm also a nibbler, I don't mean to chomp down. I know how to sit. And will go in my crate on command. I am a little scared of the leash but I get really excited to go out. I love my snacks and am very food motivated. One of my favorite things to do is to cuddle. I just love basking in the attention and receiving all of the scratches. I like dog beds but also sneaking onto the couch. I like to sprawl out and get tummy scratches. When a car parks outside or I hear the front door open, I have a tendency to bark to tell people someone's here. Other than, I am not overly vocal other than to get attention for something I need. My current fosters believe I would be best suited to as a single dog family because I can play a bit roughly. I will probably be a bit skittish and nervous because of a new home. My current fosters also know I'm okay with toddlers but they believe I would work better with older children. I can jump really high and tend to be unaware of my size. My foster family also believes I would be best suited for an active lifestyle. I love to play. Since coming to Pet Search, I have been vaccinated, neutered, 4 DX tested and microchipped. Meet Petey Petey is described as "such a great dog" and "he deserves more than we can give him." His owner found him as a stray and couldn't turn him away. Now having just moved into a new home with three kids under the age of 8, in addition to a full-time job and college courses, Petey has been relegated to very long hours of crating. In addition, he is deaf and is being teased and taunted by neighbor kids, making his life miserable. His owner has admitted that "it’s breaking my heart to give him away but I know it’s best for him to have someone that can actually be there. It’s not fair for him to be in a crate all day long." Although he seems to be companiable with some dogs, Petey may be too much for small dogs.
