Story
Meet Avicci! ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN SPONSORED Avicci takes a bit to warm up to new people and situations, but once he does, he will demand all the butt scratches, hotdogs, and love from his new people. He will need a patient home who will work with him to expose him to new situations and build his confidence, at his pace. Avicci is working through resource guarding, so a home with no small animals is best for him. Don’t let any of this deter you, this guy has a lot of love to give to whoever becomes his new family.

Story
Meet Boss! Boss came in with pretty severe ear infections, skin infections, and very overgrown nails. After some love and care, he is looking and feeling much better! Boss does well with other dogs and his previous owner stated that he did well with cats and kids as well. Boss is regularly receiving medicated baths to help with his skin and will likely need to continue these baths in his adopted home. Boss is a very sweet boy who loves attention! Story
Meet Atlas! Atlas came in as a stray and was never claimed. He is a sweet, energetic boy who is more than ready to find his forever home! He does well with other dogs, but may be too much for a cat. He would likely do well with children, but older children may be best, as he is pretty jumpy. Story
Hey, Y’all (I’m from Texas so I can say that)! Everyone knows me as Big Poppa! I’ve been at CCHS since November 14th, 2020. Why has a handsome, charming, charismatic 80 pound lug of a dog (me) been here this long? Maybe it’s because I’m 100 % confident that I can fill all the emotional needs that a pet can provide so that you won’t need any other pets in your home. Or maybe it’s because I find food to be so tasty that I feel it should be mine, all mine! Yum, Yum! Or possibly it’s that my muscular, perfect physique needs a membership to the local gym for a daily work out. Hmmmm….that all makes me sound like a ray of sunshine. Here’s the deal though, I am a ray of sunshine! I promise that you will be my person and I will be your dog and we will live happily ever after. So, how do we get there? While we don’t know what life was like for me before entering the shelter, we do know what I’m like here. My dating profile would say that I’d like an energetic partner, one that will take me on a daily run or to a Sniff Spot (Look it up! It’s a thing!). Because I want all the food, I’d be great at stopping all your extra snacking. I have a hard time separating treats from fingers or feet – yeah, I bit a foot. Oops, my bad. I’m also quite accustomed to being in a dog kennel! My superhero strength may help me escape a standard crate but I know my mostly perfect person will have room somewhere in the house for a kennel that would normally be used outside. Kids, well, I’m neutered. How about you? So, y’all, which one of you will be my person? We can run, cuddle, spend lots of quality time together and be a happy family! The application to adopt me can be found here: https://www.cchs-petshelter.org/pet-adoption And my adoption fee has been sponsored! Yay, go me! And go you!Poppa's adoption fee has been sponsored! Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Erlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption.CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS

Story
Meet Cray-Cray! Well, as the name suggests, this girl is a little crazy. High energy, exuberant, and constant motion sums her up! Her favorite past time is playing frisbee. She also loves playing in the water! Turn a hose on and she's even happier! Cray-Cray came to us as a stray. Due to her energy level we would say that cats and small dogs would not be a fit for her. Not sure on how she feels about large dogs at this time. Cray-Cray will make you smile and get you up off the couch. There is lots of fun to be had with this girl!
