Story
Wesley has a mild temperament free of extreme personality traits. He is not overly affectionate nor terribly skittish. Wesley exudes an air of intelligent laid-back mystique. He gets a kick out of playing in cardboard boxes and gets a charge out of chasing leaves. Wesley rolls over to be petted, does not mind being picked up and held as long as you have the muscles to hold this big boy! He tolerates combing and nail trims pretty well! Wesley gets vocal when in a pet carrier. He is reserved and bashful in a new environment. Wesley's ideal home is with an individual, couple or family. It is unknown how he will interact with other cats and dogs. Wesley is a 7-year-old American Shorthair with a black coat. He is large, weighing in at 14 pounds! Story
Mandy is a social kitty toward people and will come to her human companion for attention. She will be comfortable in her human companion's presence where Mandy feels safe and comfortable with you as she knows you are her source of reassurance and security, and she wants to be close to you. Along with Mandy's adoring behavior, she communicates with vocal "meows!" Mandy treasures climbing a cat tower as she likes to climb to high places to observe her surroundings and cement her status! She certainly secured her position by climbing up and coming down a chimney!! Mandy's ideal home is with an individual, couple or family. She is not relaxed around other pets, at times she will hiss, growl or bow up. It would be best if Mandy is the only feline in the home. She is a 6-year-old solid black American Shorthair with a sturdy and broad build. Mandy's adoption fee is $60. Story
Miranda is calm, gentle and a quiet kitty. She spends her day in a favorite place. Miranda takes in the day by lounging around, she is inactive, somewhat of a “couch potato!” Miranda welcomes petting especially on top of the head. She is ideal for someone who is not home often as she does not require constant attention and has her limits of petting and holding. Miranda does not like to be over stimulated and will make you aware with a “meow.” She is independent and not needy. She is not a lap cat (that's the British in her!), but she does like to be near her human companion. Miranda’s ideal home is with an individual, couple or family with older children as she will not be playful with the younger kids. Miranda is accustomed to being around other cats but would be fine without cats. Miranda will do okay around a dog that does not overly interact with her. She is a 12-year-old blue American Shorthair/British Shorthair with a tiger tabby pattern. Miranda has a broad face, stocky body, thick coat and dainty paws. Story
Dexter is calm, composed and untroubled. He is a loafer and big ole couch potato! Dexter will sit next to his human companion; head bump your hand for petting and then goes on his way. He spends his day lounging on a windowsill or on a comfy cat bed. Dexter doesn't require much attention and prefers it that way. He goes for cat treats and burns up the calories by chasing the red dot from a laser light. Dexter's ideal home is with someone that would enjoy a tranquil companion that doesn't need special treatment or attention. He doesn't mind other cats or dogs as long as they can coincide without much interaction. Dexter is a 5-year-old buff tiger tabby weighing in at 13 pounds! He is too heavy to carry around and he is absolutely okay with that! Dexter's adoption fee is $60. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats.
