Story
Rooney might be a relatively plain cat on the outside, but she’s got a big personality! She’s brave and adventurous, and, of all her siblings, she always is the one leading the way to explore new spaces and people. Over the months, she's become a very communicative and affectionate girl. She lets you know when she wants a little bit of love, and she's always happy to jump up in your lap. She gets along well with her siblings and has always been a good playmate. She absolutely loves to chase wand toys and has gotten a lot of fun out chasing down springs and ping pong balls. Her curiosity is unmatched by any of her siblings, and she loves adventuring out of the room she stays in, when we can let her. Her mother and four siblings showed up under our porch in early June 2024, and we wanted to be sure they found good, safe homes instead of remaining strays or going to the animal shelter. We are not able to keep her long term, and her mother has not been friendly with any of her kittens.

Story
Squeaks is a beautiful orange tabby male who was born around Jan 2023. He was found with a wound on his tummy which required surgery and brought into a foster home. Squeaks was born outdoors and is shy with new folks. He lives with his foster mom and dad and their two cats. He is devoted to his foster parents. Squeaks follows them around and is a real lap cat. He is playful and loving. He loves to play with the other two cats in the household. He likes toys and would do well with any family who puts in time to gain his trust. Orange cats are thought to be friendlier and more affectionate than other cats. They tend to be snuggly. Some orange tabbies are so affectionate that they are often cat-egorized as “velcro” kitties. **Adoption fee of $140 includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Neighborhood stray (most likely dumped) who I had TNR so his ear is clipped. Estimated to be about 3 years old. Friendly after a warm-up period but dogs & kids unknown. He gets along pretty well with my indoor cats but since he lived outside for an undetermined amount of time he prefers to spend most of the day outside and comes in at night. He craves pets & attention - the poor sweet guy just wants to be loved! I have not tried to keep him indoors full time so I don't know how well he'd do as a strictly indoor cat but since I live on a busy street I don't feel comfortable leaving him outside much longer. I believe he'd do well as a cared-for barn cat, or an indoor/outdoor on a larger property away from busy traffic.

Story
Hobbs is a former feral who I trapped & had neutered 4.5 years ago, along with his female friend. Age is guessed between 6-7 years old. They were both supposed to be temporary fosters, but they kind of never left! He has transformed from a severely wounded and terrified feral to a loveable house cat. He's a lover and wants attention, and generally wants to be friends with your other cats, but it will take him a bit of time to adjust, of course. Kids & dogs unknown. He's a talker! I'm hesitant to try to rehome him without his girl (appx same age but small dilute tortie) because they're usually together 24/7, but she is definitely still fearful of people; it's taken almost the entire 4.5 years for my husband and I to be able to pick her up. I only ask that if Hobbs seems miserable without her, you either agree to take her as well, or return him to me and I will then try to rehome both of them together. He's litterbox trained and has no behavioral issues, other than talking a LOT!

Story
Nugget is 7 years old and she was picked out as a kitten for our family. She is not getting along with the other cats in our house. She co exists but is cautious and needs a home with no other cats or dogs. She is good with kids. She is shy but once she warms up to you, she is loyal and loves attention and bodily contact! She comes with her babies; which are small toys, that she carries around and mothers. We love her but know she’s not happy at our house. She has what we call a shelf eyebrow and huge green eyes. She is a beautiful gray and white color. Very big personality once you get to know her.

Story
Hello! Meet Chester. He is an 8 year old cat, we rescued him from under a car one rainy night in Virginia as a baby kitten. He is a sweet and curious cat, a true indoor/outdoor combo. His days are spent playing, napping, and hunting in the woods- but he loves to come in at night for a good snuggle. We have loved having Chester around for the past 8 years. He has traveled with us many moves, including across state lines. Now we are a young family with 2 girls (3yrs & 4mos), and we have struggled to give him the best care while we also take care of our little ones. We would love for him to find a home with an outdoor space to explore daily. (Farm, forest, etc.) Like most cats, he’s an independent guy and doesn’t love sharing a space with other cats. He has never shared the house with another pet. Health: Recently had several teeth pulled (including all back molars), so he eats a wet food diet.
