Story
Meet handsome Wilmer! He's a striking tabby with a full, round face and gorgeous green eyes. Wilmer has a remarkable story and we consider him extremely lucky. Wilmer showed up on a volunteer's deck in early January. He was friendly and looking for food. Realizing Wilmer was not like the unsociable farm cats in the neighborhood, he was taken inside. Shortly after Wilmer's rescue, his foster parents removed two steel BBs lodged barely under his skin. Upon closer examination, more BBs were discovered and he was seen by our vets. X-rays revealed Wilmer had been shot 5 times and while one BB was easily removed under surgery, the others are located in deep muscle tissue making them risky to remove. While Wilmer is extremely outgoing, friendly and playful, he carries the trauma of being mistreated. Because of this, he needs an experienced family or person. Wilmer is exceptionally curious and wants to investigate anything new. He is extremely playful and loves any interactive toy, but can entertain himself for hours. Wilmer loves chin rubs and doesn't mind being picked up. Wilmer does not get along well with the other cats in his foster home and given his background, we are recommending he be the only cat in a home. We think he might be tolerant of an easy going dog, but he has a tendency to be aggressive towards other cats. We also don't recommend him for a family with young children or a couple intending to include him in a future family. Wilmer is a special dude, but he is going to be a work in progress because he was injured by people early in his life. Wilmer is about 1 year old, neutered, up to date with yearly vaccinations and negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV. For more information about Wilmer, please email Lori at apcatrescue@gmail.com

Story
Nutmeg is a handsome boy who is looking for a special, quiet home where he can gain his confidence and become the kitty we know he is. He is super playful with volunteers and loves treats, just not so much petting and definitely no holding, but we believe he is open to change in the right environment. Do you have a spare window for him to gaze at the birds? Do you have a quiet spot to read a book and allow him the time to know he is safe and loved and he will snuggle next to you? He has been with us for going on 2 years and has made huge strides! We want him to spend the rest of his life with his person/family giving him all the love and attention. We know his home is out there someplace. Nutmeg and his sister Joy both came to us as feral 14 week old kittens who were not ready to be indoors. Their wild side was harder to tame, which it has, but the trust in people has been slow to earn, but once you get it, they both provide love and entertainment. They just need that special home, special family, to give them a chance. Nutmeg is neutered, up to date with vaccines, deworming, flea/tick preventative. He is negative for feline AIDS and leukemia.
We'll also keep you updated on Joy's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Joy loves to play and loves her Churu treats! She must get all the treats lol. She gets along well with other cats and finally is coming around to volunteers to play, which she loves. She is human shy and will take time to warm up, but we know there is a special home out there willing to take on a kitty that just wants to play and explore and learn that people are wonderful! She doesn't want to cuddle, mostly just sleep and demand food and treats. But she is sweet and open and in the right environment we know she can grow the confidence to become the sweetheart she already is! Joy and her brother Nutmeg both came to us as feral 14 week old kittens who were not ready to be indoors. Their wild side was harder to tame, which it has, but the trust in people has been slow to earn, but once you get it, they both provide love and entertainment. They just need that special home, special family, to give them a chance. Joy is spayed, up to date with vaccines, deworming, flea/tick preventative. She is negative for feline AIDS and leukemia.
