Story
Peaches is a sweet, 3-year-old Staffordshire Terrier with a heart of gold and a calm, playful spirit. Weighing in at around 60 lbs and spayed, shes the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal friend who can enjoy gentle walks, relaxing naps, and the occasional road trip (she handles car rides like a pro). Peaches is well trained and housebroken, responding nicely to commands like sit, paw, and crate. Shes comfortable on a leash and has been taught to respect invisible fencing, so you can feel secure while she enjoys her time outdoors. While her energy level is moderateideal for both playtime and downtimeshe does best as the only dog in the home, as she isnt fond of other female dogs. Peaches came to us after her previous owner passed away while on vacation, and shes now looking for a new family that can offer her the love, stability, and second chance she truly deserves.

Story
Livewire is a beautiful female Staffordshire Terrier with a heart as big as her smile. In late 2022, she was removed from her previous home by the sheriff’s department, and it took two long years for her neglect case to be resolved. During that time, Livewire was placed in a loving foster home where she received excellent care and learned how to be the well-mannered, affectionate young lady she is today. Livewire will thrive as a family dog, kept mostly indoors with access to a securely fenced yard for playtime. She loves people and will do well with children aged 6 and older. Playtime is her favorite—she enjoys a good game of fetch, belly rubs, and being close to her people. She will do best as the only dog in the home and is not suited for a home with cats. Livewire is ready to leave her past behind and find a forever family who will love her for the sweet, loyal companion she is.

Story
Johnny is a big beefy dog looking for a big beefy guy (or gal) to pal around with! Throw on your matching tank tops and do your workouts together (you're sure to turn heads), followed by a long session tossing the ball around (he never passed a ball he didn't want to pick up), followed by maybe some weight lifting (he'll be your squatty spotter), followed by...yes, you guessed it, Johnny is all go! He's a bit of a freight train on leash and just enough of a bowling ball to knock over small kids, so an adult-only, active, breed aware home is going to be the best fit. Johnny is not compatible with other animals, so make sure you are going to the private gym (not to be mistaken with the dog park).    ~  Est DOB:  Oct 2017 ~  Intake weight:  75#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
If boisterous and beautiful is your kind of gal, meet Norma! She truly embraces life, with a long list of things she loves that includes romping in the yard, squeaking the squeak out of squeaky toys, playing tug, polishing her already good obedience skills (with a few yummy treats for motivation) and so much more. But don't feel left out - she also enjoys her people-time. In fact, she'll push through a loose gate to come be with you, so a secure yard is key. Due to her play style and energy, she is recommended as companion for dogs her own size only, kids 10+, and no cats please.  Norma has EPI, a condition that is manageable with a low-fat diet and enzyme supplements. Please ask the shelter for details.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Jan 2018 ~  Intake weight:  59#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.html  January 24, 2025, 9:51 pm
