Story
Squeaky had sleepovers at a volunteer’s house…me, I had sleepovers!! I loved relaxing, watching TV and getting tons of belly rubs. I have been at the shelter for 14 months, so I needed this break from all the stress and dog noises in the shelter. I`m a 3 1/2-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who is super friendly, playful, affectionate, smart and eager to please my human companions. I love soft stuffy toys that squeak, playing fetch, leash walks, hugs, and body rubs. I am a snuggle bug at heart.I am looking for a calm, stable, relaxing forever home with people who love dogs. I do great with kids and I am learning to stop what I am doing and respond to my name when called in return for a kibble treat. I know `come` and `sit` and I am making good progress learning to `stay`. I am responsible and housebroken. I need to be the only dog in a home with a fenced in yard as I am not fond of other dogs in my space. I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Please help me say goodbye to shelter life. Come spend time with me where we can hang out in the park, share some love, and get to know each other. I’d be so thankful to have a forever sleep over at your house! My friends at the Humane Society can be reached at 928-282-4679 10AM- 4PM Monday- Friday to set up an appointment.

Story
Taz is loyal, loving and very smart!Taz – Your One-and-Only Best Friend Taz is the definition of a loyal, loving, one-and-only best friend. This handsome boy wants nothing more than to be the center of your world, soaking up your affection and offering his whole heart in return. He enjoys having his meals and toys in his own space, making him easy to accommodate in a home that respects his boundaries. Taz thrives in a calm, consistent environment without small animals, where he can shine as the household's star. While Taz tolerates other dogs, he clearly prefers being the only dog in the home. He bonds deeply with his people and deserves a space where he can relax, feel secure, and not have to compete for attention. With humans, he has nothing but love, playfulness, and a “tell me what you want and I’ll do it” attitude. Back Story Taz came from a home in Kansas where several dogs were living together in unstable conditions. He lacked early socialization, and when he ended up in the shelter, he was automatically slated for euthanasia due to his breed and inexperience. The shelter reached out to Pets Return Home, and we took him in before his time ran out. Since then, Taz has grown into a confident, affectionate, people-loving dog who just needs the right home. He tolerates other dogs but thrives best as the only one. What he lacks in social dog skills, he more than makes up for with his devotion to humans. Behavior Profile Once Taz chooses you, you’ve gained a loyal companion for life. He loves quiet moments and gentle affection just as much as playful yard time and games of fetch. He is a quick learner who enjoys training games, mental challenges, and working alongside his person. Taz has excellent house manners, a fun sense of humor, and a snuggly side that comes out when he’s relaxed. He’s crate-trained, leash-trained, eager to please, and happiest when he knows what’s expected of him. Taz is looking for:      ·  A single-dog home      ·  A dog-savvy adopter      ·  A home without cats or small animals      ·  A calm, structured environment      ·  Someone who wants an affectionate, goofy, devoted sidekick      ·  For families with older kids or active adults looking for a partner in fun, walks, training, and couch time—Taz is a perfect fit. Positive Attributes      ·  Extremely loving and loyal      ·  Listens exceptionally well      ·  A natural people-pleaser      ·  Quick learner who loves training and engagement      ·  Great house manners      ·  Snuggly and affectionate      ·  Fun, playful, and full of personality      ·  Loves both activity and quiet time      ·  Guaranteed to keep you smiling      ·  Crate-trained and leash-trained Behavior Challenges Needs to be the only dog in the home No cats or small animals Prefers meals and toys in his own space Requires a consistent routine and clear expectations The Home Taz Is Waiting For Taz needs someone who appreciates a loyal partner—someone who wants a dog that will adore them, work with them, and enjoy every moment shared. If you’re ready to open your heart to Taz, you won’t just adopt a dog… You’ll gain a best friend, a teammate, and a daily source of joy. If you cannot adopt right now, will you help by sponsoring monthly? You can help sanctuary, adoptable, in-treatment, and new-intake dogs by giving $10 or more each month. Your charitable support helps provide food, medications, veterinary care, training, and love our dogs need while they wait for a family, heal, or live in the sanctuary. Story
Brutis, or Fruit Brute as he was warmly named by staff, is a brawny boxer mix and big love bug! I adore people and know sit and shake commands but I don`t quite realize my size. When I lay my head on your leg for body rubs the look of love in my eyes will go straight to your heart and melt it.I am a delightful, silly “wanna be lap dog”. I am a sweet, easy going, affectionate, animated 4 year old and I can be ready for an adventure or a game of fetch in a minute. My zoomies are superb and feel so good. I need a pack leader who is strong and willing to teach me patience and proper walking skills. I am working with everyone at the shelter to learn to stay down and since I am smart, I am already mastering this. I enjoy meeting friendly strangers. My previous owner passed away and I sometimes cry when I am taken back to my kennel. I miss not being at home because I bloom with human connections. I am a loyal and awesome family dog, a gentle giant with a big heart that just wants to be loved - belly rubs and ear scratches are my absolute favorite things in life!I am potty trained, neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a big dog with an even bigger love to give, I am here waiting for you. Please contact the caring folks at the Humane Society of Sedona at: 928.282.4679 any day of the week 10am-4pm; excluding major holidays. I would love for us to get together for a meet and greet if I sound like a fit for you and my future family!
