Story
Taz is loyal, loving and very smart!Taz has earned his Loving Home Taz is the definition of a loyal, loving, and protective best friend. This handsome boy wants nothing more than to be the center of your world—soaking up your affection and offering his whole heart in return. Around here, Taz is known for giving constant love, and smooches to the people he trusts. His favorite things are simple: eating meals in his crate, running free, exploring the ranch, getting attention from his humans, and hunting for lizards. He spends his days outside with 20 other dogs on our 7-acre campus and has learned to be accepting and highly tolerant, even around some of our most rambunctious rowdies. Taz will thrive in a calm, consistent home that is more peaceful than chaotic, and without small animals. He has excellent house manners, a fun sense of humor, and a sweet, snuggly side that comes out when he feels relaxed and safe. He is crate-trained, leash-familiar, eager to please, and happiest when he knows what is expected of him. Taz has been with Pets Return Home since 2020, working on his manners and socialization challenges. Today, he is ready to graduate to the loving home he has waited so long for. Taz is 9 years old and has spent 6 of those years with us. He deserves a final home, a loving family, and the one-on-one attention he craves and needs. Will you be the one to take Taz home? You will be rewarded with his love—and with the joy of giving him the family he has waited for. Back Story: Taz came from a home in Kansas where several dogs were living together in unstable conditions. He lacked early socialization, and when he ended up in the shelter, he was automatically slated for euthanasia due to his breed. The shelter reached out to Pets Return Home, and we took him in before his time ran out. One of over 1200 we have saved from euthanasia. Back Story Taz came from a home in Kansas where several dogs were living together in unstable conditions. He lacked early socialization, and when he ended up in the shelter, he was automatically slated for euthanasia due to his breed and inexperience. The shelter reached out to Pets Return Home, and we took him in before his time ran out. Since then, Taz has grown into a confident, affectionate, people-loving dog who just needs the right home. He tolerates other dogs but thrives best as the only one. What he lacks in social dog skills, he more than makes up for with his devotion to humans. Behavior Profile Once Taz chooses you, you’ve gained a loyal companion for life. He loves quiet moments and gentle affection just as much as playful yard time and games of fetch. He is a quick learner who enjoys training games, mental challenges, and working alongside his person. Taz has excellent house manners, a fun sense of humor, and a snuggly side that comes out when he’s relaxed. Taz is looking for:      ·  A single-dog home      ·  A dog-savvy adopter      ·  A home without cats or small animals      ·  A calm, structured environment      ·  Someone who wants an affectionate, goofy, devoted sidekick      ·  For families with older kids or active adults looking for a partner in fun, walks, training, and couch time—Taz is a perfect fit. Positive Attributes      ·  Extremely loving and loyal      ·  Listens exceptionally well      ·  A natural people-pleaser      ·  Quick learner who loves training and engagement      ·  Great house manners      ·  Snuggly and affectionate      ·  Fun, playful, and full of personality      ·  Loves both activity and quiet time      ·  Guaranteed to keep you smiling      ·  Crate-trained and leash-trained Behavior Challenges Needs to be the only dog in the home No cats or small animals Prefers meals and toys in his own space Requires a consistent routine and clear expectations The Home Taz Is Waiting For Taz needs someone who appreciates a loyal partner—someone who wants a dog that will adore them, work with them, and enjoy every moment shared. If you’re ready to open your heart to Taz, you won’t just adopt a dog… You’ll gain a best friend, a teammate, and a daily source of joy. If you cannot adopt right now, will you help by sponsoring monthly? You can help sanctuary, adoptable, in-treatment, and new-intake dogs by giving $10 or more each month. Story
I’m Squeaky a smart cool almost 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who came to the shelter as a stray in October 2024…man, that was a very long time ago! I need to be the only dog in your home as I have had little to no experience living with another dog.The volunteers have been getting me out of the shelter for sleepovers to help maintain my sanity. I just spent 2 days enjoying a volunteer’s home as I am a relaxed dog outside of the shelter. The other day we had a marvelous 2 1/2 hour outing and went on a hike among adults, kids and other dogs. I am so proud to report that I didn’t bark once during our time together as I was so happy and excited to be outdoors exploring and sniffing. We parked at the trail lot in the last parking spot which was right in front of the restroom and trail head. Many talking adults and kids walked by our truck and I did not react and just watched them through the window. We then walked on the road to the creek for some swim time. While on the edge of the water a man walked within 10 feet of us and I just looked up at him. On another occasion in the same area a dog on a leash walked past us and again I was happy and didn’t care to react in any way. My Momma would have been so proud of me and happy to see my great manners. I am learning that I can feel secure and safe with people I know and trust outside the shelter. Check out the photos of my most recent day playing in Oak Creek. The water was cool and refreshing and I had a blast.I am ready to polish my manners with a little more training, guidance, patience and consistency that’s sometimes tough to get in a shelter. Staff at the shelter are working with me to come when barking by saying ‘Squeaky come, no bark’ and I am listening in return for a little kibble treat. I have the potential to be a kind companion. I would be ecstatic to have a forever sleepover at your house! Here are some things to know about me - - I am 65 pounds of playfulness, affection, curiosity, and a joyful guy who thinks I’m a lap dog. I love soft stuffy toys that squeak, splash pools, fetch, leash walks, hiking on red rock trails, watching TV, hugging, and sleeping on a soft bed.I am neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and a house trained volunteer favorite. I have never had an indoor accident on a sleepover. If you are looking for a hiking buddy, happy, food motivated, affectionate companion with a heart as oversized as my head, I am your doggie

Story
I’m Millie, a gorgeous very cool looking female 5-year-old terrier mixed breed and English Staffy who has been at the shelter for over a year. I have a big happy spirit, stunning eyes and bouncy ears that will turn heads wherever we go. I am smart, friendly, curious, a good leash walker, and eager to please my humans. I am shy at first but thrive on being around people that I feel safe and comfortable around. Toys, toys and more toys, I like playing with toys of all kinds and sizes. My energy comes in small, short bursts and after a bit of fun I love to have my floppy ears scratched. I have been at the shelter for too long and want to return to the life I had before. I need to be the only dog in your home as I have had little to no experience living with another dog. Older kids are okay as I sometimes forget my manners and strength. I hope you have a yard where I can stretch my legs and play with you as I feel at ease in the fresh air. I can’t wait to get routine exercise and explore the bigger world around me. I am a fast learner and have responded well to training with staff at the shelter as I learn sit and staying focused. My rescuer needs to help me develop everyday doggie skills and perhaps a high five trick. With love, patience, trust, and training I gladly relax. In return I will add laughter, entertainment, and joy to your home. I am spayed, microchipped and current on all my vaccinations and house broken.I have been overlooked at the shelter and need a chance to find my one forever home…. that’s my dream! Come and visit me so we can start the bonding process and share adventures together. Contact the caring folks at the Humane Society of Sedona at: 928.282.4679 any day of the week 10am-4pm; excluding major holidays and come see my favorite toys!

Story
I am six-year-old Lambo, I have a slight build and black short fur with white patches and a brindle undercoat. I’m on a quest to find stimulating human playmates, companions and friends. You bet I’m house broken, walk well on a leash, take treats softly from your palm, enjoy squeaky balls and all over body rubs. I have matured from my puppy days and am friendly, happy, playful, gentle, calm and a perfect family dog! I will come when my name is called, bring my favorite spiky ball back to you and I am dog friendly. Bring your calm dog with you to meet me or I’d love to be your one and only. I don’t require a lot of special care. We can go on leisurely walks or sit in the shade and relax as the best part of the day is when we snuggle for body rubs.I am the perfect blend of curious explorer and cuteness! I am playful but not anxious and the volunteers have told me that I’m going to be a devoted and positive addition to some lucky home. I am looking for a family who will appreciate my big heart and happy smiles.I am neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Potty trained, positive and leash walk ready! If you are ready to live life with heart and a playful happy dog Lambo is a must meet! Just contact my great friends at the Humane Society of Sedona at: 928.282.4679 any day of the week 10am-4pm; excluding major holidays. I’d love a chance to go for a walk in the Red Rocks with you.

Story
Hi friends, I am Maggie, a 7-month-old Terrier Staffordshire pup and I want to meet you and your current dog if he/she wants a play buddy. I may be a bit shy warming up to people, but I find lots of comfort playing with other dogs (see photo #2). Many of them have been adopted and I think it’s my turn! I am beautiful, playful, curious, good with dogs and perhaps kids, fun, ready for training classes, and I love to play a game of tug of war. I didn’t have the easiest start in life, and I am learning to trust the people around me. Once I feel secure around you, I light up and will surely thrive in a patient, consistent home filled with kindness. I have so much puppy potential to grow into a dedicated and loving pooch companion.I am spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.I am a gentle/shy pup who wants nothing more than a safe place to feel loved. With a soft touch and a patient heart, I`ll slowly come out of my shell. Please contact the loving folks at the Humane Society of Sedona at: 928.282.4679 any day of the week 10am-4pm; excluding major holidays and come play tug with me!
