Oh hello there. My name is Selkie. I love toys but you know what I love even more? Cuddles! Yup, that`s my jam and what I`d rather be doing most of the day. I`m easy to walk on the leash, haven`t had any accidents in the home. Did I mention I love cuddles? Well I do. Hoping to cuddle with my forever family soon! I am low-energy and looking for a home without other animals where I can be the star of the show.

Story
Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier X DOB: 6/2013 Gender: male Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): brown/white, streak of black on tail Description: Hi, I'm Jackson, a sweet American Staffordshire Terrier X who was rescued from an LA shelter by someone out-of-state who wanted to give me a chance at finding my forever home. I was evaluated by a trainer who said I was stressed but calm. Who wouldn't be stressed not knowing when your last day might be. I accepted being touched all over my body including my paws, tail and mouth. I know sit, shake and take treats gently. I did not exhibit any food aggression when tested with chicken. The trainer took me for a 30 minute walk and I pulled at first but listened to instructions about not pulling. I walked well after that. I did not react to strangers or other dogs we encountered on our walk. I showed more interest in people. This has since changed while I was in a foster home. I need to be the only dog in the home. I jumped in the trainer's car when given water after our walk. I didn't want to get out, I thought I was going home. I've been lucky to be able to get time away from the kennel. I was quick to pick up potty training and I was a true gentleman when left alone in the home. I'm grateful and happy to be in a safe place where I'll be taken care of and given lots of love and attention. I hope the next car I jump into will take me to my forever home. Someone who hasn't even met me in person was willing to give me a chance, won't you give me a chance too? Stop by and meet me. I'll be waiting. *Thank you to Jill for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving him the chance for a better life. Available to foster or adopt!Breed: American Stafforshire Terrier / Bulldog X DOB: est 2/2016 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: short Size: medium Color(s): grey / white / tan Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online application. Hi, I'm Chula, a beautiful mostly American Staffordshire Terrier with some Bulldog, a bit of American Bulldog, and with a sprinkle of Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Neapolitan Mastiff (at least that is what my DNA report says) who is in need of a loving home. I was rescued from Animal Services where I was surrendered due to my owner moving and I couldn't go too. Animal Services had this to say about me. Chula is a petite lowrider looking for her new best friend! her owner was devastated to have to surrender her after moving and said this about her: 'Chula is protective over me. She's in tune with me when I'm sad and she's always there to comfort me. She's always playful and energetic. She's so silly and rolls around when playing.' Chula does have some fears and insecurities, especially meeting new people and having her shoulder and legs touched. In one of her homes, she was attacked by the resident dog that resulted in significant injury to her shoulder. Although her shoulder has healed well, this may be a contributing factor to her sensitivities and behavior with other dogs. It will take time, maybe even weeks, for her to become completely comfortable with a new person, especially men. She needs someone who can be patient and understand that she won't be ready to jump in your lap the first time you meet her. A quiet home with no little kids and few visitors will be the best place for her to feel safe and happy. She isn't the dog that wants to be the center of attention at a party - but she'd love to be your sidekick and give you all her love. She is working on feeling more comfortable around other dogs and has learned to tolerate wearing a muzzle to keep everyone safe if she needs to go to a vet or meet someone new and scary. If you have experience with insecure dogs, a quiet home and are looking for a partner to grow with, learn with, play with, train and love, please fill out an online application to meet her. *Thank you to the STARR Group for sponsoring this wonderful dog at the Burnice Kraemer Sanctuary and giving her the chance for a better life.May 2, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
ECHO…Echo…echo… just like the sounds that bounce off canyon walls, this fun and zippy girl likes to bounce around too! She is one spunky spitfire with the smarts to go with! Sweet and petite (she looks way bigger in her photos but is really only 53 pounds tall) she is a go getter and LOVES to have fun. Her love language? Sniffaris. She really enjoys walks and hikes where she can explore her environment. She loves to watch the world and all the exciting things happening in it! She would make a great sport partner for someone who is willing to keep her focused and make it fun for her. Some thoughts on this? Disc, Fast Cat, Barn Hunt, Dock Diving – she is fast, agile and willing. She loves to learn and try new things. She also loves to run and jump! Her nickname? Dinosaur. Sometimes she likes to walk on two legs. (Is there a dog sport where this might come in handy?) Echo was surrendered to a high-volume shelter in LA when her family decided they couldn’t keep up with her energy. Unfortunately, this is a common path for many high drive dogs, and when they get to the shelter with nothing to do, their energy doesn’t dissipate, so unless someone is ready for a skyrocket (which we are) an amazing dog like this gets passed up. We love her drive and energy and look for exactly those qualities, however, Echo is a girl with not only many talents, but many interests too, so she wanted to do other things besides just work. Although she’s not a super snuggle bunny, once she connects with you, she shows you how truly special she is and will try so hard for you! If you are looking for a funny, athletic, enthusiastic and special partner, this girl is for YOU…You…you!
