Meet Irondale: A Loving Soul Waiting for His Forever Home Hi there! My name is Irondale, but you can call me "Iron" for short. I'm a 4.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit that just can’t be contained. Even though I’ve spent most of my life in a shelter, I haven’t lost my zest for life or my hope for a family to call my own. Let me tell you a little about myself: I’m a friendly boy who absolutely adores people. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch or running around in the yard, I’m happiest when I’m with you. I have plenty of energy and love to play, so I’d be a great match for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. Water is my favorite—give me a kiddie pool or a hose, and I’m in heaven! Rope toys are my jam, and I recently discovered something called a spring pole… let’s just say it was love at first swing! I’m also a pretty smart cookie and I take treats like the gentleman I am. Walking on a leash? No problem—I’ve got that down, too! I’m eager to learn and love making my people proud. I won’t lie: after being in the shelter for so long, I need someone who can be patient and give me time to adjust to a new home. I’m working on making new doggy friends, but I can be a little unsure around other big dogs at first. If you give me a proper introduction and don’t rush me, I’m learning that other pups (and people) can be pretty awesome. What I need most is a loving, understanding home where I can experience all the good things in life. I’ve already shown that I’m full of potential—I just need someone to help me shine. The shelter environnment is hard for this boy, and he`s showing it through overarousal and frustration while in the play yards. He has started exhibiting jumpy and mouthy behavior--including tearing clothing when he gets overstimulated. Initially, Chili was a very social boy, relaxed, and enjoyed hanging out with people and going for walks. The chaotic, unpredictable environment is proving to be too much for him and we think he would be best in a home that understands he needs a bit of time to decompress to show his true self. Hello this is my loving dog Queen she is a 7 year old American Staffordshire Terrier that will melt any and every heart. I have had her since she was 5months old, unfortunately do to my current work schedule and time away from home it saddens me greatly to have to put her up for adoption. She is good with children of all ages and people of all kinds. She is a bit on the smaller side currently and will have to eat a special prescription diet of Royal Canin dog food due to her sensitive stomach which she will need to stay on unless you plan on making food for her. I have almost a full first bag that you can take with you as of now to start. She loves to go on walks, loves to be rubbed and is just the most all around biggest baby you could have. I don’t want to have to put her up for adoption but I know it will be best for her in the long run to be somewhere she can receive the attention and time she deserves. My beautiful girl is waiting for you to give her, her new forever loving home.
