Story
I'm a sweet girl who is looking for a quiet home to call my own. I'm tiny in stature, but big in personality. It takes me a little time to open up, but when I do, I love to play with toys and run around the yard and most of all snuggle. I love other doggos, but cats cannot be trusted. I will need some space at first to make sure I can trust my new surroundings and siblings, but it won't take long I promise. Once I do, I'm a total Velcro dog! I'm completely housebroken and I love car rides! Those windshield wipers are sketch though. Im the bestest girl at nail trims and delivery people don't bother me one bit. I love going on walks and do really well on a leash. I need a forever family to call me their own. I do enjoy kids but would do best when they are older children.

Hi, I’m Rice—aka Rice-aroni, aka Spicy Ricey (don’t let the name fool you, I’m more sweet than spicy once you get to know me). At first glance, I know I might look like a big, tough guy—but deep down, I’m a total softy with a heart of gold. Here’s the deal: I’m not the kind of dog who wants strangers running up and petting me right away. I like to take my time getting to know people. But once you’re in my circle? I’m your ride-or-die. Loyal, loving, goofy, and affectionate—I’m all in for my people. Some of my favorite things? Water. I live for a good pool day—splashing, sunbathing, maybe a little rope toy action (which, by the way, I love even more than dinner). You’ll usually find me chilling on the deck, soaking up the sun or riding shotgun on a car ride to our next adventure. I’m a social guy when it comes to other dogs—total play group superstar here. But cats? Yeah, not really my thing. And kids? I prefer the older ones. The tiny, fast-moving ones make me a little too excited. And hey—bonus points? I’m fully potty trained. No accidents here, thank you very much. I do great out and about, especially on patios, but I’ll need someone who’s confident and consistent to keep reinforcing my training. I thrive with clear direction and someone who “gets” me. I’m looking for a foster or forever home where I can be myself—quirky, loving, and loyal to the end. If you’re patient, confident, and looking for a best friend who’ll give you his whole heart, I might just be your guy. Ready to meet your new poolside buddy and rope-toy champ? Love, Rice 🐾

Get ready to scoop up some laughs with our latest addition to the pack - the one and only Scoop! This dapper dog has got it all - he's handsome, he's potty trained, he's crate trained, and he's got a personality that's full of old man energy. But don't let his mature demeanor fool you - he's still got a youthful spark that keeps him on his paws. Scoop can be a bit picky about his furry friends, but hey, who isn't? He's a dog of discerning taste, and he's not afraid to show it. But when it comes to the humans he loves, he's a real sweetheart. He's always up for a cuddle session, and he loves nothing more than a good belly rub. Now, we know what you're thinking - with all these great qualities, Scoop must be one popular pup. But surprisingly, he's had some trouble finding his forever home. Maybe it's because he's so handsome that people are intimidated by him? Or maybe it's because they're afraid they won't be able to keep up with his old man energy. Whatever the reason, we know that there's a special someone out there who's just right for Scoop. So if you're looking for a furry friend who's got it all - good looks, potty training, crate training, and a personality that's full of surprises - then come scoop up Scoop and give him the forever home he deserves!

Story
George's Story George is a 2 year old, 60 pound Boxer mix. He was rescued from an owner who kept him chained to a dog house and fed him only occasionally. The neighbor was keeping him alive and walking him when she could. In spite of this he was still suffering from malnutrition when he came to Save-A-Life. He is now neutered, vaccinated, has been treated for heartworm infestation and is healthy and very happy to be in rescue. This is a charming guy who gives sloppy kisses and has a great time at PetsMart on Saturdays. He is trained to sleep in a crate at night, does well walking on a leash and enjoys playing with the other large dogs. He and Michael, the Weimaraner play tag and wrestle whenever they are outside together. George needs a fenced yard to get sufficient exercise. He does well with children and adults. To make an appointment to meet this gentle giant, go to the savealifepets.org site and fill out a pre-adoption application and forward it to holly.rolfes@era.com.

Story
Meet Jacoby – The Gentle Goober with a Heart of Gold Jacoby is the kind of dog that makes people ask, "How has he not been adopted yet?" At around 2.5 to 3 years old, this lovable, slightly goofy soul is ready to steal your heart with his sweet crooked jaw and even sweeter personality. He’s a big ol’ ham — a medium-energy boy who lives for belly rubs in the sun and sand. Jacoby doesn’t just like attention; he savors it. Plop down next to him, and he’ll happily roll over with a smile on his face and his heart wide open. He adores his people and wants nothing more than to be near his human, soaking in the love and offering endless affection in return. Jacoby is a true gentleman. He takes treats with the gentleness of a lamb, listens to commands like “sit,” “lay down,” and “stay,” and responds lovingly to his foster mom’s nicknames — “Cheese,” “Cheesecake,” or just “Goodest Boy.” Because that’s what he is. He’s also hilariously obsessed with his squeaky toys and stuffies — not to destroy, but to treasure. He proudly carries them around and even shares them with his doggy friends, especially once he’s warmed up. And oh, does Jacoby love his friends! He’s happy playing chase with pups of all shapes and sizes, from tiny 6-pounders to sturdy 70-pounders. The ladies hold a special place in his heart — he’s a total gentleman with the gals, often found lounging under the azalea bushes with his favorite girlfriend by his side. Jacoby thrives on routine and loves mealtime like it’s a sacred ritual. Offer him a frozen blueberry and you’ll see true joy. Whether it’s fruits, veggies, or the sound of dinner being prepared, Jacoby is all in. And while he sometimes forgets just how big he is, his smarts and sweetness shine through every moment. He’s goofy, affectionate, and wonderfully loyal. He gives hugs and kisses freely — all he asks for in return is someone to love him as much as he’ll love you. His foster mom says he’s here to fill a hole in someone’s heart — maybe it’s yours. Jacoby’s not just looking for a home. He’s looking for his person. And once he finds them, there’s no limit to the joy, laughs, and love he’ll bring.
