Story
Meet Opie! A spirited five-and-a-half-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix from West Haven, CT, whose heart is as big as his 67-pound fawn brindle frame, complete with an adorable white patch on his chest. Opie is the kind of dog who knows how to balance adventure with affection—whether he’s conquering hiking trails, riding shotgun on car trips, or snuggling up on the couch with his favorite blanket. Opie is a brainy, athletic guy with a solid foundation of professional training under his belt. He’s house-trained, off-leash ready, and fluent in an impressive list of commands like sit, stay, down, come, place, and even "give hug"—yes, he’ll literally jump into your arms for a cuddle! He’s eager to learn, deeply loyal, and thrives with structure and companionship. While he does have a sensitive stomach, he’s otherwise in excellent health, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Opie’s perfect day includes a game of tug-of-war, basking in the sunshine, or curling up for a nap with his beloved blanket. But he’s just as happy lounging at your feet while you work. He’s a flexible, go-with-the-flow kind of guy, but he really shines when he gets regular exercise and mental stimulation. Now, Opie’s story does come with a chapter that needs thoughtful understanding. He has a bite history rooted in fear and anxiety, particularly when his trusted person isn’t around. It’s been over a year since his last incident, and when he’s with someone confident and calm, Opie looks to them for reassurance and settles quickly. Because of this, Opie needs an experienced, dog-savvy caregiver who can offer both structure and comfort. Opie prefers to be the star of the show in a home without other pets or with a very neutral canine companion. He hasn’t been around children or cats, so a quiet, adult household would suit him best. Are you the confident, loving companion Opie needs to continue his journey? If you think you’re the perfect match for this affectionate, loyal adventurer, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com—we can’t wait to hear from you!

Say hello to Edwina, a 3.5-month-old bundle of joy with legs made for zooming and a cone that doubles as a built-in radar system. Recently spayed and currently channeling her inner satellite, Edwina is a goofy, love-soaked pup who believes every lap is a throne and every squeaky toy is a noble quest. She’s got a spring in her step, a tongue that flops with flair, and the kind of energy that says “let’s play now, nap later.” If you’re ready for a lifetime of laughs and loyalty, Edwina’s ready to be your ride-or-die sidekick. ##2410330##

Story
Meet Fredrick, the 4 month old, four-legged embodiment of chill vibes and heartfelt loyalty. He’s a young pup with the soul of an old gentleman—polite, respectful (even to a very dramatic cat), and fully committed to being your shadow. Whether he’s lounging like a throw pillow on the couch, tagging along for errands like your personal emotional support co-pilot, or respectfully admiring your 11-year-old kid like they’re royalty, Fredrick knows how to make you feel special. He’s mastered the art of zoomies in short bursts and has a deep appreciation for the finer things in life: pillows, blankets, and human contact. Don’t let the puppy label fool you—this guy is practically part dog, part couch cushion. He’s mostly housebroken, crate trained and would absolutely binge “Great British Bake Off” while you’re out. Give him a squeaky toy and a snack, and he’s set. The way Fredrick looks at you will make you wonder if you've been cast as the lead in a dog rom-com. He's got it all—good manners, a soft heart, and impeccable taste in throw blankets. Adopt Fredrick. Your couch (and your life) will thank you. MA LICENSE #0092  ##2410331##

Story
Carol’s adoption fee is just $150 thanks to a generous donation! Have you ever dreamed of being adored like a celebrity, but without the paparazzi? Meet Carol—part dog, part heated blanket, part overzealous life coach. Found strutting the streets of Boston like she owned the place (probably looking for snacks and snuggles), this mama was clearly done raising kids and ready to live her best soft-girl era. She's fiercely loyal, a bit dramatic, and has a bark that says “I’ve got this house covered”—followed immediately by full-body wiggles when guests walk in. Carol is your classic pittie: snuggly, soulful, and unable to comprehend personal space. If you're working from home, she will become your weighted blanket. She’s got legs like a gazelle and hops like one too, so we recommend no toddlers unless they’re wearing helmets. Kids 13+ who can appreciate her unique combination of couch-potato and spontaneous parkour artist will be a great match. She’s potty trained, polite in her crate, and would thrive either as your one and only or with a chill male dog who respects her queen status. Carol isn’t looking for a fling—she wants real, deep, Hallmark-movie love. Could it be you? MA license #0092 ##2266055##
