Story
We are looking for a loving home for Boosie, our 6-year-old spayed female dog. She is a very sweet, calm girl who loves being close to her person and relaxing on the couch. She is housebroken, crate trained, and used to a quiet home. Boosie has not been around small children, so we think she would do best in an adult home or a home without young kids.

Story
Meet Ciara! Ciara is a 1-year-old, 43 lb pup with a balanced personality and so much love to give. She walks nicely on leash and takes her time exploring without being overwhelming or hard to manage. She’s social in a calm, polite way, showing positive interest in other dogs she passes and offering happy tail wags along the way. Ciara has also enjoyed doggy playdates at the shelter and seems to prefer a rough-and-tumble play style with other energetic dogs. She sits for treats, takes them gently, and doesn’t have much interest in jumping up, aside from the occasional “paw” moment when asked. Ciara enjoys affection but is also independent enough to do her own thing when needed, making her an easy companion to spend time with. She returns to her kennel without issue and has overall proven to be a very steady, pleasant young dog who could fit well into a variety of homes, especially one with a playful dog buddy. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet/adopt, visit us in Greensboro, NC from 12-4pm any day except Tuesdays; no appointment needed.

Story
Meet Ice Hill! Ice Hill is a 7-year-old, 70 lb boy who came to us when his owner had to move and couldn’t take him along. One of the very first notes written about him described him as a “super sweet boy with a big ole smile,” and we’d say that’s still one of the best ways to describe him. If you’re looking for a lower-energy companion, Ice Hill is your guy. He walks beautifully on leash, loves leisurely strolls with our volunteers, and is happiest just spending time with his people. His previous owner shared that he’s house trained, crate trained, doesn’t bark or whine much, and has done well with both children and other animals. Ice Hill has already proven he knows how to be a wonderful family dog. Now he’s just looking for a family to call his own.

Story
Meet Ravioli! Ravioli is a 4-year-old, 68 lb gentle giant who was found as a stray. He can be a little sensitive at times and may flinch or move away when something startles him, but when he’s with people he trusts, his sweet personality shines through. He’s calm, easygoing, and loves affection. One of his favorite things is resting his head in your lap and hanging out with his person. He already knows sit, has great recall, and seems eager to learn more. Ravioli also appears friendly with other dogs. When passing them at the shelter, he’s interested in polite introductions and enjoys sniffing his neighbors as he passes by. If you’re looking for a chunky buddy with a soft heart and an even softer personality, this guy is worth meeting.

Story
Meet Mildred! This sweet 8-year-old weighs just 46 pounds and is our low-energy shelter sweetheart. Mildred was found wandering near a local middle school with a few bumps and scars, but she was friendly from the very beginning and hasn’t stopped winning people over since. She walks beautifully on leash, enjoys taking her time to sniff and explore, and is perfectly content spending an afternoon relaxing by your side. She loves treats, welcomes affection with enthusiasm, and will gladly accept all the back scratches you have to offer. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance best friend who still has plenty of love to give, Mildred may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.
