Story
Maggie is the sweetest girl! She absolutely loves being outdoors and is SO smart. We enrolled her in obedience school when she was about 10 months old, and she did amazing! She got to the point where could even walk beside us off-leash! Unfortunately, with a busy season of life and a 12-month-old at home, we haven’t been able to keep up with her training like we used to. Maggie is crate trained. I tried to break her of the crate but she loves it too much. Maggie is now 4 years old (she’ll be 5 in April) and still has so much love to give. She does well with calm, smaller dogs and with kids who are gentle and don’t make her nervous. She’s nervous around some men. (Not as many as she used to be) We adopted her from the Humane Society when she was 9 months old, and it breaks our hearts to rehome her; but she deserves the time and attention, we cannot give right now. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion Maggie will make the perfect addition to your home. ❤️

Story
A Holiday Miracle for Tyrone Tyrone is 3 years old, and heartbreakingly, he has never spent Christmas with a family of his own. Tyrone came into rescue as an older puppy, found as a stray and later transferred to us when another rescue was struggling. We promised him safety and a chance. That was two years ago, and Tyrone is still waiting . In that time, Tyrone has become everything we could hope for in a dog: &#226&#156&#168 Wonderful with kids &#226&#156&#168 Great with other dogs &#226&#156&#168 Playful, affectionate, and eager to please &#226&#156&#168 A true volunteer favorite, loved by everyone who knows him. He has attended adoption events, proudly walked in parades, and greeted the public with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes. Volunteers adore him… yet no one has ever chosen him. Tyrone has never had a single meet-and-greet. Why? Because Tyrone is a black pit mix, a quiet victim of Black Dog Syndrome, where amazing dogs are overlooked simply because of their color or breed label. It’s a stigma that has cost Tyrone two Christmases and far too much time waiting. But Tyrone hasn’t given up. He still loves deeply. He still believes people are good. And he is still ready to give his whole heart to a family of his own. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 This Christmas, we are praying for a holiday miracle for Tyrone. Christmas photo is AI-generated for festive fun. Tyrone’s real photos will be shared as wellDecember 12, 2025, 11:36 am

Story
Meet Emily! Breed: staffordshire terrier mix. Age: est 2 years. Weight: 45lbs. She is short but stocky. She should probably be about 40lbs. She has gotten a little thick. Training: crate and leash trained, she is doing well with housetraining. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to dogs. She seems a little too interested in cats, but she doesn't immediately go after them. Good with adults/kids? Yes. Personality: she is a little shy at first, but she warms up to be friendly, playful, and affectionate. Emily has come so far! Reason for rescue: Emily was dumped on a dirt road with her 2 pups, who have since been adopted. It's Emily's turn to find her forever home! Emily is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. She is heartworm positive and being treated with the slow kill method. She will go home with her medications. If interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application! Adoption fee: $75.June 30, 2025, 3:30 pm

Meet Peaches! Breed: staffordshire terrier mix. Age: approx 1 year, est birthdate 1/24/24. Weight: est 35lbs. Training: crate and leash trained, doing well with house training. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to dogs, unsure about cats, can test. She would do best with another dog to show her the ropes. Good with adults/kids? She can be timid/reserved at first, but that doesn't last long. She warms up to be very loyal and affectionate Personality: shy, but loving, friendly and playful. Reason for rescue: her mom was a feral dog that had pups under someone's house. She was adopted as a pup, and recently returned because her owner had hardships and needed to move where dogs weren't welcomed :(. Peaches is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. If interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application! Story
Sweet GiGi needs an active family who likes to hike, run, walk, and play! She is super good girl, does well with dogs her size or larger and is gorgeous too! No felines though, she is not fond of them at all! She is petite pittie at only around 38 lbs. She would love to go on a run with you and then come back and snuggle. If she is the girl for you, please fill out our on line application RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Our boy Mason came to us from Anson County Shelter as a baby and he was scared to death. The shelter staff had already gotten him a bit warmed up and he completely came out of his shell once at his foster home. He is a wonderful, funny, loving boy, looking for love. He is great with other dogs and loves to play. He is a bit shy at first but with a little coaxing, warms up quickly He is so ready to find his forever home and will make someone a great addition to their family.
