Story
Sweet GiGi needs an active family who likes to hike, run, walk, and play! She is super good girl, does well with dogs her size or larger and is gorgeous too! No felines though, she is not fond of them at all! She is petite pittie at only around 38 lbs. She would love to go on a run with you and then come back and snuggle. If she is the girl for you, please fill out our on line application RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Looking for a new best friend? Look no further than Tyrone! This handsome boy is friendly, affectionate, playful, curious, funny, athletic, and loves kisses. He's basically every dog you've ever wanted in one furry package! Despite his many wonderful attributes, Tyrone is still waiting for his forever home. Did you know black dogs and cats are very often overlooked? He's an all-around great dog and is sure to bring laughter and joy into the lives of whoever adopts him. He can be a bit of a joker and a goofball who is always ready for a game of fetch or an afternoon walk. He'll be your running partner, Netflix buddy, and cuddlemate extraordinaire. If you're looking for a furry family member, Tyrone would love to meet you! He's good with other dogs and would be a great addition to your pack. Take this wonderful opportunity to welcome Tyrone into your life. You'll be glad you did! Meet Tyrone! Age: approx 1 year. Breed: staffordshire terrier/lab mix. Size: approx 45lbs. Training: leash and crate trained, doing well with house training. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to dogs, but would do best without cats. He wasn't aggressive toward them, but when the cat hissed and swatted, he reacted. Good with men/women/kids? Yes to all! Personality: friendly, playful, curious. He knows sit and eager to learn more. Reason for rescue: he came in as a stray, he was very emaciated. Tyrone is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Story
Nero is a sweet boy that wants a lap after a long day of playing. He gets along well with our husky, Maya, but not our cats. Nero likes to chase and push them with his nose. We strongly suggest having an outlet for his energy, after all he is still a puppy! Nero was born in November of 2023 in the Greenville humane society. He is a sweet boy, but as he got older we realized he couldn't be socialized with cats despite our best efforts. Please give this happy, loving boy a chance. The fee can be reduced for serious adopters, but will be on a case-to-case basis. If you can love him and call him family, then we can always give it a chance. If you have a dog already, bring them along with their vaccination records to ensure a positive potential bonding at a local dog park. No cats can be in the house. Nero must be an inside dog. PS he will do ANYTHING for treats!

Story
Our family adopted May from our local shelter in 2021. She had been hit by a car in her hind leg and we wanted to give her a loving home. May is very loving and will lay down for a belly rub for as long as you are willing to give her one. May is also very loyal and protective. She is territorial when a stranger (big or small) comes near her home. She does not have the greatest manners when new folks come to the house. We typically have to put her out on the back porch where there’s a sliding glass door. This way she can see in and hear us interact. Once she realizes everything is fine, she can come back in and be introduced. She just has a loud and intimidating bark. She has never bitten anyone. She’s just mouthy. CATS ARE HER WORST ENEMY! I think if she had it her way she would run right up the tree with them to get to it if she could...LOL! Typical love-hate relationship there! May loves chasing laser lights. You would think she was a cat! Shh...don’t tell her I said that!
