Story
Hey there, pals! I'm Joe Dirt, your friendly neighborhood gentle giant, here to sprinkle some love and joy into your life! Standing tall at 65lbs, I'm all muscle and heart, ready to be the loyal companion you've been dreaming of. Let me paint you a picture-I'm the kind of guy who'll greet you with a wagging tail and a big, sloppy kiss as soon as you walk through the door. Affectionate? You bet! I love nothing more than snuggling up close and resting my head gently on your lap, soaking in all the warmth and love you have to offer. But don't let my size fool you-I'm as smart as they come, with a heart full of eagerness to please. Whether it's mastering new tricks or simply walking well on a leash, I'm always up for a challenge and eager to show off my skills. Oh, and did I mention I'm super house trained? Yep, you heard that right! No messes here-I'm a pro when it comes to keeping things tidy and clean. Before we can officially become best buds, be sure to submit your adoption application online. It helps the shelter staff prepare for our meet-up and ensures a smooth transition when we finally get to hang out together. And here's the cherry on top-all of us furry friends here are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. So you can rest easy knowing you're bringing home a healthy and happy pup! Let's be BFFs! Filling out an application is super duper easy and it puts you at no obligation to adopt if we aren't the perfect match. You can use this quick and easy link to meet me soon: https://foothillshumanesociety.org/adopt/adoption-application/ I can't wait to meet you and show you just how awesome life with a sweet, affectionate guy like me can be! Story
Hey there, folks! Woof! The name's Bones, and I'm here to tell you all about myself. At six and a half years young, I've got plenty of spunk and love to share with someone special like you. Let's start with the basics - I'm a proud medium Terrier mix with a heart as big as my bark. I may be a little older, but let me tell you, I've still got plenty of pep in my step and a whole lot of love to give. Whether it's showering you with kisses or curling up in your lap for a cuddle session, I'm all about spreading joy and affection wherever I go. Now, let's talk about my favorite topic - treats! Oh, how I adore them! I'm highly treat motivated and always eager to learn new tricks or commands in exchange for a tasty snack. But here's the thing - I'm a little on the chunky side and could stand to lose a few pounds. But don't worry, with your help and guidance, I'm sure to slim down and become the picture of health in no time! When it comes to walks, I'm a pro! I walk well on a leash and love exploring the great outdoors by your side. And speaking of exploration, I'm smart as a whip and always eager to please. Whether it's learning new tricks, playing games, or just hanging out with my favorite humans, I'm always up for some fun and adventure. Before you come to meet me at the shelter, please note that adopters will need to fill out an adoption application online first. This helps ensure that we find the perfect match for each other. Once your application is approved, we can arrange a visit and start our journey together! At 62 pounds, I may be a big boy, but trust me - I've got an even bigger heart that's just waiting to be filled with love and affection. So, if you're looking for a loyal companion who's equal parts sweet, affectionate, and eager to please, look no further than yours truly, Bones. I can't wait to meet you and start our happily ever after! You can fill out an adoption application for me using this link: https://foothillshumanesociety.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Hey there, future snuggle buddy! I'm Rhonda, a lovely female American Staffordshire Terrier who's just over 2 years old and weighs 45 lbs. Let me tell you a bit about myself and why I might be the perfect addition to your home! I'm a total couch potato who loves to snuggle and be lazy. My favorite place is right next to you, whether we're lounging on the couch or just hanging out in the same room. I'm housetrained, so you won't have to worry about any accidents. I absolutely adore people and enjoy going for brief walks before settling in for a cozy cuddle session. Here's some fantastic news: adult dog adoptions are free for the entire month of May! That means you can take me home without any adoption fees. Before we meet, make sure to submit your adoption application online. This helps my friends at the shelter make sure everything goes smoothly when we finally get to meet. One more thing: all of our animals, including me, come home spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and microchipped. So, you can be confident that I'm ready to join your family happy and healthy. Let's be BFFs! Meet Kinky Kinky (you can change her name if you adopt her!) is a beautiful chocolate and white American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She was rescued from the county shelter where she was to be euthanized for space. She is now enjoying life in her foster home waiting for adoption! Kinky is about 3 years old and weighs 60lbs.At home, she enjoys laying with you on the couch and just being with her people! She is very affectionate and friendly. She is currently living with other dogs, cats, and children. She is curious about the kitties, so we recommend a gradual introduction if you have cats in your home!Kinky enjoys riding in the car. She knows how to sit and shake. She isn't super interested in toys, instead she enjoys simple companionship. Kinky is a medium/active energy level. ##2100791##

Story
Sweet GiGi needs an active family who likes to hike, run, walk, and play! She is super good girl, does well with dogs her size or larger and is gorgeous too! No felines though, she is not fond of them at all! She is petite pittie at only around 38 lbs. She would love to go on a run with you and then come back and snuggle. If she is the girl for you, please fill out our on line application RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
