Story
Grab your tissues! (No seriously, we're warning you - you will need them!) After presumably living her life on a chain (she was wearing a nasty, thick collar that was coated in dirt and filth that made it hard to remove), Annabelle was dumped in the overnight dropbox while in labor with TEN puppies. Poor momma had to deliver all by herself on the cold concrete floor overnight. We're just thankful she was left somewhere safe, temperature-controlled, with access to water, and where she would be found by loving humans who could help her! Despite her rough start and being abandoned at the most vulnerable time of her life, momma Annabelle was such a sweet girl and let the shelter staff handle her babies immediately - like she knew they were there to help. Annabelle was the BEST momma who took great care of her babies and always kept her area clean.
Annabelle is treat motivated and knows how to sit and catch treats! She is a sweetheart who enjoys pets, short walks, catching hotdogs, and being safe and loved. This beautiful girl needs a home where she will be cherished as the true queen that she is and NEVER neglected or abandoned again!
From her current foster (6/2024): "Annabelle is a loving pittie girl. She's super sweet and goofy! She loves her people and just wants to be with you. She loves toys and kongs. She always greets me with tapping toes and a toy In her mouth. She follows me around and "helps me with yard work. She does well with other dogs as well as integrated and adjusted with time. She likes calm dogs, and gets over excited with other energetic dogs. She gets zoomies when excited and it's so funny! Once I was sitting on the ground with her and she zoomie jumped right over my head. She always has a big goofy smile, it warms everyone's heart! Once comfortable she's very calm, and loves to nap! She's just looking for a forever understanding home where she can adjust and live a happy life as a companion! She bonds quickly to her people, and is a very loyal gal. She does have anxiety in the kennel while adjusting but settles with peanut butter kong."
From her past foster: "Annabelle has no aversion to the crate, is slightly reactive to loud cars and bunnies but is doing better with it every day. She almost never barks and loves to cuddle all day! I'm absolutely in love with this dog and would recommend her to absolutely everyone!
From her previous foster: "Annabelle is SUCH a sweet girl! She will steal your heart in no time. You can tell how caring she was as a mama because she is so gentle with things she loves (like her one special toy). She was very nervous at first but has become so brave and is becoming more comfortable in a home! She can still be nervous to go back outside but is working really hard on making sure she goes outside to go potty. She's getting so confident! She loves people and is usually interested in checking out other dogs as well. Annabelle raised her family and now is looking for a family of her own!!
Annabelle is the sweetest girl and is definitely a velcro dog! If you are looking for a constant companion who will be incredibly loyal, dedicated, and want to always be by your side, Annabelle is your gal!

ADOPTION FEE: $425
We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event.
Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications.
We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend!
All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.
