Story
*** Staten, Bronx & Brooklyn are in a foster home. ***Staten #19982: black & white bicolor, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 10/1/25Bronx #19983: black & white tuxedo, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 10/1/25Brooklyn #19984: solid black, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 10/1/25Cats: must have playmateDogs: goodChildren: past toddlerBACKGROUND: Though none of them are technically related, our NYC kittens each found themselves at a shelter that did not have the resources to care for bottle babies and thus were put on the euthanasia list. They were pulled from the shelter and moved to a bottle-feeding foster where they became the close-knit found family they are today!PERSONALITY: Bring out the toys and get ready for innocent yet determined mischief! ---Staten is a big cuddle bug… once he’s done with playtime! You can always find him following Brooklyn and giving her a hard time as they wrestle nonstop. Staten has a loud purr and likes to be held and snuggled.---Bronx is the true sweetheart of the group: he is the biggest cuddler with a seemingly nonstop purr. He’s an explorer, and checking out New Things is so high on his agenda that he’ll sometimes bypass the wrestling games of the other two to keep up an investigation. Playful and mischievous, Bronx is always getting into closets, bags, and at this time of year, presents!---Brooklyn is the brave leader of the pack and a hunt-minded girl. She is always ready to pounce on her brothers (or you if she can’t find them) and will growl if anyone gets too close while she’s playing with her spring toys. Wands get dragged off and defended once she has captured her prey. Brooklyn will join you for laptime though right now isn’t as keen on being held as often as the boys… she’s a very busy girl!COMPATIBILITY: They are great with the resident cats in their foster home and of course love each other. They each must have a welcoming feline playmate; we recommend keeping a pair together! They are comfortable with the small resident dog and played well with the 4-12 years old children they have met. If you don’t already love New York City, these kittens will soon see that you do!

Story
*** Ben is in a foster home. ***Ben #10504: dark gray tabby & white, medium hair, declawed, neut. male, born 4/4/14Cats: must be only catDogs: noChildren: calm / respectful tweens+ BACKGROUND: Ben first came to The Rescue House when he was three days old; he was bottle-raised and then adopted. Eleven years later, he came back to our care when he and his brother could no longer tolerate each other following a lengthy gap when they’d been living apart.PERSONALITY: Ben is a very sweet and affectionate kitty with a strong purr engine! He likes interactions to be low-key and calm. Soft and gentle pets on his head and body (though please don’t touch his tail), and scritches around his ears and chin are very nice indeed. Once Ben gets to know you and is comfortably settled in, he may even roll over so you can rub his belly. He can get overstimulated if things get too vigorous and will let you know at those times; he’s a vocal guy, and he’s good about communicating when he wants your attention and when he wants his space. Don’t worry, Ben loves people and there will be plenty of opportunities for interaction… he’s just a classic cat who likes to call the shots. His favorite toys are kicker toys, especially when they have catnip and silvervine in them. He also loves his breakfast, and isn’t shy about asking for a meal… and he thinks a tasty lickable tube treat for a snack is always a good idea!COMPATIBILITY: Ben needs to be your only fur-child. He prefers a calm home where he is not petted or handled too roughly, though he’s generally good with strangers who respect those wishes. We haven’t seen him around children, though suspect that younger or rowdier ones would not be to his taste and he’d do better with older cat-savvy kids 11 and up.Big Ben is a sweetheart who is ready to settle in with his forever person. Will it be you?

Story
*** Lenore is at Cat & Craft in Vista. ***Lenore #20038: solid gray, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/30/25Cats: does wellDogs: unknown / possiblyChildren: all ages BACKGROUND: Lenore and her siblings were found in a trash bag at a garbage disposal site in Mexico. They were rescued and cared for; her siblings soon found homes but Lenore wasn’t as lucky. When there was a chance to help out, she transferred to The Rescue House.PERSONALITY: Sweet and social, Lenore is a lovely addition to any home! She is extremely affectionate and loves to cuddle up and nap with you. She enjoys being held in your arms. Unsurprisingly given that she’s a kitten, Lenore is very playful with a variety of toys (such fun!) and regularly plays soccer with her foster sister Rosalita. COMPATIBILITY: Lenore gets along well with other cats (Rosalita was her buddy in foster care!). She hasn’t been around dogs or children though given her personality we think she would do okay with both so long as dogs are calm and kids of all ages are respectful. Will the fabulously floofy lady Lenore grace your home?
