Story
*** Princess and Little Lady are in a foster home ***Princess: white w/black, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/30/23, #18773Little Lady: black & white bicolor, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 7/30/23, #18774*** Bonded Pair ***Cats: good w/friendly felines!Dogs: possibly w/mellow dogsChildren: gentle, respectfulAlong with their mom and brother, these sweet girls were discovered at an industrial complex during a sizzling hot September. Trying their best to stay cool, they took shelter in a small water drain outside the building. Back then, they were only 10 weeks old and in desperate need of water and food. Through a network of kind humans, they found their way to The Rescue House and no longer had to worry about hunting for scraps, dodging cars or escaping the heat. Learning all they could in foster care, Princess and Little Lady have transformed into amazing indoor kitties who are ready to find their forever homes! These fluffy sisters have come a long way! Given their rough start at life, they can be a bit timid at first. Just give them room to adjust to the new environment and they will warm up into the sweetest honeybuns! A cozy spot, like a tunnel, is a perfect space for them to retreat to when things get spooky. Soon they'll realize they're safe and start showing off their vibrant personalities! Cuddles, playtime and a dash of mischief are always on their agenda. They enjoy leaping from and running up cat trees. Watch them bat around their toys and dance with the strings and wands. Of course, Snuggle Happy Hour and Churu treats are every hour! These darlings are curled up together day and night. Their other hobbies include bird watching and nibbling on fresh grass. As for that mischief, you might find toy mice "swimming" in their water bowls. Inquisitive and quirky, Princess and Little Lady strangely have a thing for broom bristles. --- Princess is the bolder sister and tends to warm up rather quickly. Carefree, she likes to roam and investigate as she pleases. She enjoys sunbathing and warm naps by the window. Indulge her with pets and she'll is one happy princess.--- Little Lady is a bashful beauty with a splash of sass to keep things interesting. She's not the type to run up to you when you walk in. Maybe it's too predictable or cliché for her? As of yet, she's not a fan of being picked up. However, give her some time to adjust to the idea. Funny enough, she does enjoy belly rubs and sitting on your lap (if you place her there). This silly girl loves to be loved... on her terms, of course! With Princess around, Little Lady will find her courage to come out and explore. Princess and Little Lady are a bonded pair and MUST be adopted together. They would mix well with friendly felines. They haven't interacted with dogs or children. Based on their personalities, we believe they could adjust to living with mellow canines. They'd probably welcome gentle and patient kids who will respect their boundaries. If you're looking for a pair of fabulous kitties to grace your home with love, fun and fluffy boa tails, then Princess and Little Lady are meant for you! What are you waiting for? Invite them to join your family!

*** Johnny & June are in a foster home. ***Johnny: gray/white, long hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/1/24, #19060June: black/white, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 4/1/24, #19061Cats: bonded pair & like others Dogs: okay with slow intro Children: gentle kids likely okayTwo kittens, only a couple days old (with their umbilical cords still attached) arrived at a shelter. It was late in the day, which often leads to a grim fate for bottle baby kittens who cannot survive without round the clock care and which shelters are unable to provide. With just 45 minutes to save them our team sprang into action, dropping what was planned for the day and running to the shelter. Once in the safety of foster care, they grew and thrived and now are ready to find their own forever home!If you are looking for a perfect pair let us introduce you to Johnny and June. They are exceptionally sweet and full of energy! Being hand-raised bottle babies almost from the day they were born, they are very human oriented and will come running when they hear you. They will even lead you to where they want to go play. They love when you're involved! June and Johnny are incredibly social and will crawl, jump, run all over you---you are part of their jungle gym. They will bounce around, play chase, and wrestle with each other. Once they are done frolicking, they will settle in for a brief pause on your lap---then it's back to kitten shenanigans. They will find a way to make anything fun! ---Johnny is affectionate with a strong, lovely purr. He loves to crawl onto your shoulder and play with your hair. He will give you head butts to demand petting. ---June is loving, fun, and spunky! She is courageous in exploration and very confident. She will play endlessly---a tiny ball of energy. ---Johnny and June are inseparable and MUST be adopted together. Johnny and June have met older cats in foster and are quite friendly with them. If they are hissed at, they just back away and go back to playing... their bond with each other is strong and reliable. They have seen large, calm dogs and although slightly intimidated initially they would adapt with time. Although they haven't met children, we believe given their young age and disposition they would adapt fine to most gentle new friends.Johnny and June will make your heart sing! *** Penelope and Collin are at Cat & Craft Cafe. ***Penelope: gray/white tuxedo, medium hair, spayed female, born approx. 2/1/24, #19168Collin: black/white tuxedo, medium hair, neutered male, born approx. 2/1/24, #19169Cats: great pair, love friends! Dogs: likely okay after intro Children: respectful kidsCollin and Penelope are some lucky babies! Born to a stray mom, they were brought to The Rescue House and moved swiftly into foster care where they could grow into happy and confident cats. Collin and Penelope are very comfortable with people and good at socializing (watch out when you have guests around, they might steal the show!). They are exceptionally sweet and special kitties. ---Collin is a sassy little guy with lots of personality packed into his cat body. If his big green eyes and gorgeous coat aren't enough to turn you into a puddle, Collin is ready to win you over with his wonderful character. He is truly the life of the party, ready to play whenever you are. Get ready to laugh as Collin skids around corners chasing his wand toy, or sit back and let him put on a show as he kicks a ball or mouse around. Collin isn't all racing around though: he loves to just hang out and be best friends. This fluffy boy is the perfect snuggle companion when he is all done telling that ball who is boss. ---Penelope is the yin to Collin's yang. She is a little more reserved than her brother, so together they're a match made in heaven. You can best think of Penelope as a petite bundle of fur, love, and chill. Penny's perfect day likely involves watching the world go by from a windowsill and hanging out with her humans! Sounds great, right? She offers the type of kitty companionship for when you need to relax after a long day at work, just ready to sit on the couch and be loved. And oh my goodness have you seen that face? How can you resist those big green Disney eyes? Your phone will be full of photos! Penelope and Collin love each other and make a great pair... kittens do best with buddies! They have also spent time with other cats in foster care, so with the correct introductions they're happy to make friends. Calm and respectful children should also be fine. They haven't met dogs, but if given a slow and proper introduction they could be likely adapt to living with cat-friendly canines.Penelope and Collin are ready to find their humans. Are they destined to be the new fluffy additions to your home?

Story
I found this friendly cat outside my apartments, usually hanging out with the local kids. Until one night, where I found him covered in a sticky gum like substance attached to the right side arm his fur. I took him to the Humane Society to help him take it off, on top of getting his shots, flea treatment and spay & neuter treatment. I've been caring for him a while and I just need to find him a proper home that will care for him.

Story
The exquisitely BEAUTIFUL ***Pearl The Golden Girl*** was rehomed from Coronado Military Family leaving the country. Her GORGEOUS, pearlescent white fur compliments a sweet, cuddly temperment that Turkish Van's are so well known for! Pearl LOVES socializing with her humans. She is a Well Bred Hostess who will ACTIVELY GREET all new guests that come into your home! Pearl particularly loves cuddling with well behaved children BOTH boys and girls! Her current foster home has two boys, 7 and 9yo who adore this gorgeous girl. Pearl will do best in a NO STRESS, LOW activity home. She prefers to be the ONLY Regal kitty to Rule over her Castle! She MAY tolerate an older, mellow doggy, if the canine has the proper amount of respect, lol, and stays away from her royal food dishes. Pearl would LOVE to live in an ALL WHITE HOME/Palace, as befits her breeding ;-) However, if you have chosen to decorate differently and the humans are CUDDLY and sufficiently adore her, she has said she would be delighted to adapt to your fashion and style. THIS GIRL is very human bonded, so we are looking for a match with humans at home MOST OF THE TIME (not the traditional 9-5 schedule). If you work at home, are a stay at home parent, or are a retired couplewith Excellent taste in Fancy Felines, THIS IS THE EXACT RIGHT KITTY FOR YOU! Potential homes and families for Pearl: Please respond and email to us WITH A PHONE NUMBER that you will answer when our Volunteer Adoption Counselor calls! Story
*** Katy is in a foster home ***White w/black patches Turkish Van mix, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 10/1/22, #18044Cats: likes Dogs: cat-savvy canines Children: adults onlyAlong with the rest of her litter, Katy was rescued from the streets as a young kitten. The family made their way to The Rescue House, and in foster care, they began to flourish. During her time there, we noticed that Katy has chronically weepy and slightly red eyes-the right more so than the left. We took her to the ophthalmologist, and she is on a regimen of three separate types of eye drops administered twice daily to address the issue. Even though things are under control, she requires follow-ups every six months to ensure nothing has changed. With that sorted and all of her siblings adopted, Katy now is ready to find her forever home too! On most days, you can find Katy embracing the true San Diego spirit by soaking up the sun in her favorite spot by the window! (In Katy's opinion, naps are a must after breakfast or an afternoon of games and frolicking with her foster friends, so why not pick a sunny spot for a snooze?) Speaking of meals, Katy loves food and is vocal about making sure you know when it's time to eat! Katy's other favorite activity is playing. In terms of activities, she adores interactive wand toy sessions with you and boogying down on the playground with her feline companions! While she appreciates wrestling, cuddling, and romping around with kitten pals, she also is able to be independent and self-entertain. Adopting this playful sun-worshipping gastronome isn't just for anyone. She is going to need a very special person who understands that she is exceptionally timid and reserved. Katy takes time to trust and form bonds with people. Not one to ever kiss on the first date, Katy expects you to put in the work to earn her affection and not to rush her as she settles in. Katy prefers to explore gingerly at her pace and retreat back to her safe space (under a bed) when she feels overwhelmed or afraid. Once she eventually lets her guard down, you will see an additional side to her. For example, if she thinks you have food or a treat, she will come out to greet you and do a little dance while meowing! Although she doesn't necessarily want to be touched a bunch, Katy likes to be near her chosen person and enjoys affection on her terms. If in the mood and in an environment where she is comfortable (such as atop a cat tree), she will accept your caress and purr away in delight! (Katy is soft and has wonderfully luxurious fur like a bunny rabbit, so petting her is a treat for you both!) You also can expect your relationship to deepen with Katy throughout the months you spend together-once she claims you as her own, she will curl up on your legs while you sleep and delight in smelling you! Katy is sociable with other cats and makes feline friends easily. She also does well with cat-savvy canines. Given that she is bashful, we believe a tranquil, quiet adult-only home would suit her best. Children would not be a good fit for her.Girls just want to have fun, and this gal is simply looking for the right place to host her parties-she loves a good romp with a wand toy! Do you have room in your heart and home for Katy?
