Story
Meet Kookanusa (aka Kooka)Kooka came into rescue with her five siblings from an outdoor feral mama kitty, and right from the start she made it clear she was something special. The tiniest of her litter, she needed a little extra time in foster care—and during that time, she found exactly what she needed most: love. That love came in the form of another kitty named Cayenne, who Kooka has proudly chosen as her mama. Kooka is absolutely devoted to Cayenne and does the cutest thing ever—she tries to nurse on her, and Cayenne sweetly allows it, treating Kooka like her own baby. Their bond is undeniable, and they would thrive best in a home together.Kooka is gorgeous, sweet, playful, and full of charm. She loves to eat, loves to sleep, and loves to cuddle—but most of all, she loves Cayenne. If you’re looking for a bonded pair full of affection, comfort, and the most precious relationship, Kooka and Cayenne are ready to steal your heart. DOB September 2025 Children 12 and over. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes. These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.
