Story
Vicking is 100lbs of fluffy and love! He is an active gentle giant, and loves his people. His DNA testing came back as 50/50 Anatolian x Great Pyrenees mix, which surprised us due to his coloring. He is a GOREGOUS dog no matter what breed he is! Viking does well with kids, we suggest older kids due to his 100lb size. He has not been cat tested, he has seen some cats while on leash from a distance, and didnt show much interest. Viking has an average level prey drive, so we would reccomend a home with no small critters. Viking was adopted by a local rescue to a family who had 2 middle aged Newfies. After 3 months, there was tension between Viking and the older male dog in the home, which is why Viking was surredered back. Viking was surrendered in MA, and is being fostered in MA. He is available for adoption in MA.   He is a very sweet boy, loves belly rubs, and loves to play ball. Viking is good on leash, he doesnt pull much. He knows some basic commands and sits on cue. He is fully house broken and fully crate trained. He loves his crate, and he settles right down at night.   He really enjoys his people, and hes never met a stranger, he loves all people. Viking is currently in a 2 week board and train and doing wonderful!  Viking is looking for an active home - He's good with other dogs but like other large breeds, need slow and controlled introductions. We also recommend children over 10 years of age who could respect his size.  ##2013388##

Story
Moira Rose has had her last litter and is now taking time out for herself. She is getting the hang of indoor living and what it means to curl up on a doggie bed. Getting the attention she has been lacking for a long time. Walks good on leash, rides great in the car. Moira Rose is a great bird watcher and will run and bark to let them know she won’t tolerate their present. She’s a bit on the aloof side, comes to you when she feels the need. She will growl to get your attention as to say I’m here human, give me your hand. She gets excited when she thinks she can read your movement and barks with excitement to know she was right about it. Best with another dog to help her to have that security being with one of her kind. She plays well with others and will find her cuddled up with her favorite pal. Patiently waiting for her forever home. www.cprdogs.com . Moira Rose is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Sunshine Louise! This beautiful Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix is super sweet and wants to be your best friend. She currently weights about 90 lbs. She is house trained (she will ring bells on the back door to go outside). She is very well behaved and does not require a crate indoors. Sunshine is a very, very laid back girl….until she feels the need to guard her home. We are unsure of her age, but the guess is around 6 years old. She is smart and very treat motivated. She loves to go on walks especially first thing in the morning and after the sun goes down. She LOVES people and kids! She is good with other dogs as long as they respect her boundaries. She easily integrates into a pack, but remains kind of a loner. She is spayed, (after having 10 puppies), microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She has also completed Heart Worm treatment. Sunshine loves belly rubs and pets. She will look lovingly and longingly into your eyes like she knows that her life has been saved and she is so very grateful. She is a very calm girl who prefers to lay on the cool floor. She is a “guardian” breed and will quietly take up a position (usually in a doorway) and just relax. She knows basic commands but does have a stubborn streak. Usually a treat will encourage her to follow your directions. Sunshine does have a high prey drive, so no cats or tiny toy breeds please. She also has a history of fence jumping to pursue wildlife, so a privacy fence would be ideal. If you would like to meet this precious girl and make her part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Sunshine is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Story
Meet Josie, a three-year-old, 50 lb. Anatolian Shepherd mix. She was found roaming the streets in Texas before being taken in by a good samaritan. She’s currently in Texas awaiting an adopter or foster so she can travel up north to find her furever family! Josie is a spunky, energetic, and active girl who loves her playtime, runs, and walks. She especially loves the water and splashing around in her pool. Josie adores affection and loves to be pet and get belly rubs. Her favorite toys are ones that squeak and she's always up for a game of fetch. She has done great with the dogs that she has met but has never been cat tested. Josie does well in an outdoor kennel but will need basic training for indoor crating, as well as housetraining and basic obedience/manners. A fenced yard is a must. She'll make a wonderful addition to any home! Her adoption fee is $400 and Josie is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed.
