Story
4 yo Belgian malinois mix Maddox and her 2 year old malinois sister Mel lost their parents, their homes, and siblings to divorce and overnight, her world collapsed. Maddox is a super sweet, almost perfect pup. She is good with dogs, cats, and kids. She lives with dogs, a kitty, and two small children, and gets along with everyone. She does love to play fetch, but mostly she is very quiet for her breed, and prefers chilling with her foster family. Maddox tends to be a bit more reserved and enjoys her own quiet space. Maddox is housebroken, crate trained and very affectionate and better suited as a companion than a high-drive working dog. Maddox weighs 60 lb and is fully vaccinated, spayed, chipped, heartworm negative and kept on proheart 12. She loves to sunbathe, and snuggle. The sudden change in their situation has been very stressful to Maddox, so we would definitely like to find her a home where she gets lot of love, and affection. Maddox is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet our gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.

Story
If you know and love Malinois mixes, you already know what makes them so special- it’s their intelligence, devotion, and unstoppable drive to bond deeply with their person. Wendy here embodies all of that and more. Take a look at her here then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/XY_xeGiaC4Q Estimated to be about 2½-years-old, Wendy weighs 55-pounds fully-grown, and we believe she is a Malinois mix but given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed or birthday. She is also stunning with a soft coat of mixed brown and black fur, a set of amazingly alert ears, and the warmest eyes that just land with connection. Wendy has a dedicated foster who has spent time and energy into ensuring Wendy is best prepared for life in her future home. It didn’t take long for her to show everyone just how much love, joy, and loyalty she has to give. She lives peacefully with three other dogs -two females and one male - and plays happily with them every day. At home, she’s cuddly and affectionate, the kind of dog who leans into you for pets and nudges your hand when she wants more. She’s also well-trained and wonderful on leash - walking politely at your side, calm and focused. Wendy even completed two months of professional training (circle back to her dedicated foster), which helped her master basic manners and develop her natural intelligence. Like many working breeds, she thrives with structure, exercise, and mental enrichment. Daily walks, a good run, or a game of fetch will keep her happiest -she’s athletic, agile, and loves having a purpose. Outside of the home, Wendy can feel unsure in new environments. Me too Wendy. My solution is to just keep it simple- it works like a charm. If you are looking for her to be your tag-along pal please know it is not part of her natural demeanor but she can learn. She’ll need a confident, experienced adopter who understands how to help a Malinois mix build trust and decompress in a new home. Once she bonds with you, she’ll be your shadow, your biggest fan, and your most loyal protector. Because of her strong bond with her people, she may have a little separation anxiety at first, hello to most any and all shepherd mixes- they miss their people, but with patience, routine, and reassurance, we do know she settles in beautifully. Wendy does best with the company of other dogs and would love to be the +1 to another medium-energy dog. Not only does it give her a much appreciated playmate but it helps her confidence when initially settling into a new space and routine. She did meet our house cat and was respectfully cautious but we are recommending a cat-free home currently based on her foster sharing she has tried to chase a street cat. If you are interested in Maggie and have cats we are happy to do a much more thorough cat-test to truly determine her limit. She’s wonderful with other dogs and adores her humans, including her foster family’s gentle 4 year old nephew. She likes him! Wendy is a truly special girl- affectionate, intuitive, intelligent, and loyal to the core. With someone who values her tender heart as much as her strength, she’s going to be extraordinary! Story
Leo is here offering a rare opportunity as the sweetest, toy-loving, cat-tolerant, confident, athletic pint-sized power house boy. His size alone had us all in love then as we got to know him all we could say was “Oh man, he is such a cool dog!” We cannot guarantee breed or birthday with rescue dogs but Leo is bringing so many qualities and the looks of a mid-size Malinois mix. I think he is trying to prove that great things really do come in smaller packages! Estimated to be about 1 years old and weighing in at a perfectly portable 31 lbs! You read that right, hes tiny! Leo offers all the brilliance, athleticism, and heart of a full-size Malinois, just in a compact frame. What a dream, a “fun-size” working dog with drive and loyalty, but much easier to fit on your couch. Take a look for yourself, you'll see what I mean- https://youtu.be/mVz--MTGm5w Leo is so fortunate and is being fostered in a multi-dog home with an experienced foster which means, Leo basically comes pre-programed with the “Good-Boy” Package. House and crate trained, good house manners, well-socialized, seriously it's a pretty sweet package- plus someone who is familiar with him and can answer any questions you might have about him. My favorite thing about Leo is just how social, people-loving band affectionate it. We see a lot of dogs with a high drive and they don’t often melt for attention, Leo though understands that you can work hard and love hard, you don’t have to pick just one. He is curious, affectionate, and thrives on engagement, whether it’s training time, adventure time, or playtime. My next favorite thing is Leo+ a toy! Give him a toy and you’ll immediately see him light up and his inner puppy come out, complete with 110% play shaking the toy and bouncing around with the happiest tail wags. True to his Malinois roots, Leo is a smart, food-motivated learner who responds beautifully to structure and consistency. He has great basic leash skills and continues to perfect walking alongside you with ease, and improving every day. Because he’s both eager to please and athletic, he would excel in training, agility, or any activity that lets him use his brain and body. Leo is dog social and thrives with balanced, confident dog companions though he would be a perfect solo dog in a home where he gets plenty of exercise and engagement, aka- attention. Leo is cat-tolerant with a strong curiosity and playfulness so a dog savvy cat and slow introductions will be key if he lives with feline friends. Apartments are not exactly his style, he would love a yard but could adapt to apartment life with an active adopter ready to channel his energy into fun and structure outside of the apartment life. If you’ve been dreaming of a compact adventure buddy who’s equal parts smarts and heart, Leo is here, ready and waiting for you. The perfect blend of a love for life and loyal affection, this little love-joy is ready to take on the world right by your side. Ready to welcome this amazing, one-of-a-kind friend into your life? Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.I'm Janice! I'm 8-9 weeks old. My mom is a stray Belgian Malinois that some nice people have been feeding and trying to take care of. My dad is another neighborhood stray and he's a tri color mixed breed. My mom is leary of people and even though she has claimed a lady in the neighborhood and will take treats from her, she won't let the lady touch her. I don't know because the lady is really nice and she gives us babies lots of love and pets and we really like that! We don't have our mom's shyness at all- we haven't learned yet that some people aren't as nice as the lady who feeds us. I hope we don't ever have to learn that because I really like people and don't want to meet any who aren't nice to me and my sisters. Anywayyy. Im a smart little girl like my mom and I really need a family who will invest some time into training me so I can grow up to be the best I can be. I want to learn stuff really bad, and I want to play all the time. So my new family should be able to give me lots of play time and exercise. Ive heard the rescue lady talking about maybe my dad's genes helped mellow out my mom's and that us pups seem to be a good mix of mom and dad. My mom is a hard worker, keeping watch over us kids while the rescue lady was over taking our pictures and getting to know us, and Dad was taking a nap the whole time. Im excited to find a family of my very own and the rescue lady says she's gonna help make that happen! I cant wait to meet you! Be on the lookout for my sisters- Holly, Nora, and Denise. Spayed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.  Janice is located in Arkansas. She can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
