Story
This handsome boy was picked up running at large and based on Facebook posts it was about his third or fourth offense, but no one claimed him. We are guessing that he was a failure at being a livestock guardian because he’s way too social. He’s always wanting to visit someone new. Charlie is a little over a year old and weighs 110 lbs. He was very thin when he first came to us but is now at his perfect weight. He is neutered, up to date on required vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested negative. He’s house trained and he loves other dogs, but he is a big guy. He also will require a tall fence, and you will have to keep an eye on him because again he likes to visit new people. He’s affectionate and likes to lean on you. He is learning commands like sit and stay and he really tries to please! This is what his foster mom says about him " Charlie is amazing. He is housebroken, loves to be hugged, hasn’t chewed anything up, likes to play but is content just to chill. He walks beautifully on a leash and likes to say hi to everyone he meets. Charlie enjoys sitting and looking out the window, hanging around in the kitchen especially when I’m cooking and going for car rides. Although this breed is known for having a stubborn streak, Charlie seems to understand a few commands wait, it’s ok, no, come, let’s go and he will even sit for a treat. But his favorite is Good Boy Charlie❤️" This guy would be a great dog for an active loving family. He’s so sweet! If you would like to be Charlie’s forever family, please email dogs4mylife@ gmail.com or olmc7@ hotmail.com. If you are inquiring from a Gmail address. It is best to use our Gmail address, or you might have to look for us in your spam.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Application link https://forms.gle/mtaWGXgjgBRLat1T7 We are the boys from the Huddleston litter. My mother was found in a barn after giving birth to the 12 of us on October 10th. Mama was so exhausted, weak and hungry and most of all scared. Her milk was not even enough for the 12 of us because she had been abandoned and left on her own while we were growing in her tummy, but we nursed anyway just thankful for her warmth and her repeated licking and snuggling to comfort us. The kind loving Huddleston family found us and contacted Greg King Canine Recovery Dog Rescue for help. Our mom got all the food she needed and even learned to start trusting humans again! My brothers pick on me because I'm the runt, but I'm getting better at standing up for myself. I promise I will be the best boy that I can if you will let me live with you and I would love to have some toys by myself because I don't get to play with the few that we have very much, because Miss Lindy says we all have to share. We are now weaned, (Mom says she could not be happier about that) and eating all the puppy food our tummies can hold. All I need is my own person, because the 12 of us have to share 2 people and we have to stay at the farm by ourselves while they are at work. I get very lonesome. Date of Birth October 10, 2025 The total cost of adoption is $175 unless you pick up at the rescue in Texarkana, TX Picture and video was taken December 18 Only the $75 transport fee is due to secure transport from our rescue in Texarkana, Texas to one of the 7 locations on our transport route. The $100 adoption fee is not due until you pick him/her up on the transport date at the location you select on the "Transport Roster Form" You also have the option to designate someone else to pick up your pet as long as we know in advance. Please watch our Facebook Reels of past adoptions and transports, search "Greg King" & "Greg King Canine Recovery" The mother dog was a pregnant stray that had her 12 babies in a barn that provided warmth and safety and then food and love once they were discovered. We started NeoPar vaccinations and dewormers at 5 weeks. Puppies receive 3 puppy shots before they are transported. We provide a folder for you to take to your veterinarian when you pick up your puppy with medical records/information. Dominant breed information is based on physical traits of parents and puppies. Mother dog looks like an Anatolian Shepherd/Kangal Shepherd, possibly Boxer mix and we believe that daddy is a Great Pyrenees. Greg King Canine Recovery dog rescue is located at 484 Farren Road in Texarkana, Texas 75503. Once a month, we transport all pre-adopted dogs and puppies to the following 7 cities because all of the shelters in our area are kill shelters, so we try to save all that we can by getting them adopted and transporting them to their new homes. Because it is a 1000 mile transport one way, we have to leave Texarkana, Texas the day before you are scheduled to pick up of your new dog or puppy. I will provide a live Google Map link in order that you may follow our travel progress to pick up at one of these seven locations on our transport route, or if I have to stay at the rescue to care for all of our rescues, I will give you frequent updates of the transport's travel progress. Poplar Bluff, Missouri Arnold, Missouri Springfield, Illinois Bloomington, Illinois Rockford, Illinois Joliet, Illinois Kalamazoo, Michigan Please contact me, Latrell King, at 903-280-4233 for adoption questions. Please send a text before calling and then leave a voicemail because I don’t usually have my phone with me when I’m taking care of the puppies, cleaning kennels, feeding, vaccinating, etc. Cell phones are not puppy proof. I will return your call or respond to your message ASAP. I will explain the process with the approval of your application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.CHANCE – Ready for an active, loving home! Basic Info: • Name: Chance • Rescue ID: D250072 • Adoption Fee: 325 • Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Dog & Catahoula Leopard Dog mix (possible) • Age: 3 • Weight: 65 pounds • Gender: Neutered male • Housetrained: Most likely • Good with other animals: Prefers to be the only dog in the home; does best interacting with calm, friendly, adult female dogs. Cats unknown. Personality: Chance is a loving, highly intelligent dog eager to learn and please; he thrives when mentally challenged (having a job, when engaged in play, etc). He already knows commands like “sit,” “give paw,” and “down,” and is excited to learn more! Chance should take very well to any additional training. He responds nicely to positive reinforcement, belly rubs, and treats. Chance loves people and is looking for direction, purpose, and a family to call his own. Ideal Home: Chance enjoys 1:1 engagement so a single person or couple would be ideal. He would do well having a fenced yard to run off some energy but consistent leash walking would be acceptable. Chance will do best with an experienced owner familiar with smart, working breeds. He enjoys hiking, playing fetch, and having a “job” that challenges him with consistent training. He walks nicely on a leash but can pull when overly excited, so redirection is key. Due to his size and strength, a home with children over 12 is recommended. &#226&#156&#133 Health, Care, & Appearance: • Requires daily exercise and mental stimulation • Vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped • Tall and strikingly handsome with a soft, fluffy coat and an expressive face Location & Adoption Info: Chance is being fostered at Mikey & Me in Chelsea, MI. He is ready to be your best friend!  Apply to meet him at www.happydaysdogandcatrescue.org Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 11, 2026, 5:50 am
