Story
Baby Rhino will be 1 year old in May. He’s a lovable dog that wants to be cuddled at all times if he could. We own his parents and decided to keep him since he was the only surviving pup of mom’s small litter. He’s very healthy and vibrant. Rhino is a livestock guardian breed so he’s been raised with sheep and goats but hasn’t taken to this role very well. He has killed some chickens and will require training if he is to fulfill this role. These dogs are smart and quick to learn. If not, he’ll make a good pet as an outdoor dog with a buddy. He cries if tied up so he needs to have an area to roam with proper fencing. Our busy farm with 3 other dogs doesn’t allow us the time to give him the training he needs. Located in Oxford MI

Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Moderate Special Needs: None Physical Fence: Preferred / No Invisible Fences Nickname: Brock-Lobster Likes long walks, Sunbathing, Taste-Testing Arrival story: Brock was pulled from Detroit Animal Control Approximate age / Weight: 10-ish Years young, 95 LBS Hey guys - I’m so excited to meet you! I’m Brock! I’m about 10 years young, but my foster parents think I may be a bit younger. I love going for walks and am great on leash! I enjoy trotting around town checking out new spaces. I get bursts of energy throughout the day, so walks or playtime are needed so I can enjoy my best life. I’d probably enjoy adventuring, but I'm perfectly content to just lounge around. I love playing tug or chasing the ball outside or just relaxing and chewing on Benebones or other chews. Pigs ears and bully sticks are my absolute favorite. I’m also a bit of a foodie! I love trying new foods, but watch out! Sometimes I get over excited about treats and get a little too chompy, so watch your fingers. I love everyone I meet, but because of my size and energy around taking treats, I would do better in a home with teenagers or adults. I look forward to meeting you and hope I can become a special part of your family. Good With Kids: Older kids Good With Other Dogs: *Females same size ideal Good With Cats: No Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Walks Nicely On A Leash: Yes Knows Basic Commands: Workin’ on it Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Go Go Go Special Needs: N/A Physical Fence: Preferred Favorite Toy / Activity: Loves fetch and squeaky toys Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Detroit Animal Control in the summer of 2023. Approximate age / Weight: 1 yr old and 50 lbs. Personality: Arnold is a happy, energetic boy who arrived with an injury that required hip replacement surgery. He dealt with that like a champ and is ready to live life to the fullest. True to his breed, Arnold thrives on physical activity. He enjoys long walks, vigorous play sessions and likely would love to participate in dog sports. While he hasn’t charmed the male dogs (huskies) in his foster home, he hangs out with the lady dogs and respects their boundaries and corrections. We do not think Arnold is a good candidate for daycare or dog parks. New Home: Arnold is adaptable and would likely fit it to different home environments as long as his physical and mental stimulation needs are met. He is really looking for humans to appreciate his go-go-go personality. He will accept the challenge of keeping up with an active pet parent.
