Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.CHANCE – Ready for an active, loving home! Basic Info: • Name: Chance • Rescue ID: D250072 • Adoption Fee: $0 - this has been sponsored.  • Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Dog & Catahoula Leopard Dog mix (possible) • Age: 3 • Weight: 65 pounds • Gender: Neutered male • Housetrained: Most likely • Good with other animals: Chance enjoys playing with other dogs of a similar size. Cats unknown. Personality: Chance is a loving, highly intelligent dog eager to learn and please; he thrives when mentally challenged (having a job, when engaged in play, etc). He already knows commands like “sit,” “give paw,” and “down,” and is excited to learn more! Chance should take very well to any additional training. He responds nicely to positive reinforcement, belly rubs, and treats. Chance loves people and is looking for direction, purpose, and a family to call his own. Ideal Home: Chance enjoys 1:1 engagement so a single person or couple would be ideal. He would do well having a fenced yard to run off some energy but consistent leash walking would be acceptable. Chance will do best with an experienced owner familiar with smart, working breeds. He enjoys hiking, playing fetch, and having a “job” that challenges him with consistent training. He walks nicely on a leash but can pull when overly excited, so redirection is key. Due to his size and strength, a home with children over 12 is recommended. Chance loves taking car/truck rides and would enjoy riding shotgun with someone who drives during the day but is home at night.  ✅ Health, Care, & Appearance: • Requires daily exercise and mental stimulation • Vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped • Tall and strikingly handsome with a soft, fluffy coat and an expressive face Location & Adoption Info: Chance is being fostered at Mikey & Me in Chelsea, MI. He is ready to be your best friend!  Apply to meet him at www.happydaysdogandcatrescue.org Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Maggie Maggie is a 3-year-old spayed Anatolian Shepherd mix who is up to date on her vaccinations and looking for a new home. She loves to run and would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard. Maggie is shy when meeting new people but warms up quickly and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion. She’s great with kids, knows basic commands, and would benefit from continued leash training. Compatibility with other dogs will depend on the individual dog and proper introductions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. On site adoption available to pre-approved applicants only.   Adoption fees go towards vaccines, heartworm prevention/testing, flea/tick prevention, spay/neuter and other medical problems that may arise.   MMAR is an all volunteer, foster based, 501 (c) 3, non profit organization. Without your donation, wonderful pets like these have to be passed by because we cannot afford their care.   If you would like to donate please send donation to: MMAR Box 180155 Utica, MI 48318   Donate online at https://www.sanilacscoopers.org/   Please email us at mmarpaws@gmail.com for additional information or to set up special appointments September 27, 2026, 9:49 am
