Meet and adopt me at Pet Supplies Plus Beavercreek (3201 Day-Xenia Road) on Saturday, March 7th, from 12pm-3pm We recommend filling out an application ahead of time at: https://hsdayton.org/adopt/adoption-application/ All adoptions are done on a first-come, first-approved basis after meeting the animal at the event. Theo’s journey brought him to us from a high-intake shelter we partner with, and while we’re so grateful he’s here, it’s clear that all the recent changes have left him feeling a little unsure. New sights, new sounds, and a new routine can be overwhelming, especially for a sensitive soul like Theo. But underneath that nervous exterior is a calm, incredibly sweet boy who just needs a little time to feel safe. Theo is the kind of dog who blossoms when given patience and understanding. He does well with other dogs and seems to find comfort in their presence. And when he has the chance to run around and explore, you can see his true personality shine — his body relaxes, his curiosity takes over, and he becomes a completely different dog than when he’s feeling confined. It’s in those moments you catch a glimpse of the happy, carefree companion he’s meant to be. Theo is looking for a loving home willing to move at his pace — a family who understands that trust takes time and that confidence grows with kindness. With patience, encouragement, and a safe place to land, we know Theo will thrive and become a deeply devoted companion. We can’t wait to see him finally settle into a home where he feels secure, cherished, and truly loved.

Story
Boone is about 22 months old. We adopted him from the local animal shelter. He is very playful and active but he does not understand the difference between a young child and an adult at times. He play bites when overly excited which is not a good fit for our family. Boone loves being outside and enjoys his crate too. He enjoys going to the dog park to meet big dogs. He does well with other dogs as long as they are big and willing to play fight. He may not do well with small, relaxed, or older dogs. He is potty trained and can do basic commands (sit, lay down, shake, etc.). He does good on walks but only if he wears a harness. He also does not bark often. He has never chewed anything up inside, but be careful about outdoor rugs (he loves them). He is a sweet dog once all of his energy is out. He would be a great companion for older children and adults.
