Story
Meet Sunshine Louise! This beautiful Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix is super sweet and wants to be your best friend. She currently weights about 90 lbs. She is house trained (she will ring bells on the back door to go outside). She is very well behaved and does not require a crate indoors. Sunshine is a very, very laid back girl….until she feels the need to guard her home. We are unsure of her age, but the guess is around 6 years old. She is smart and very treat motivated. She loves to go on walks especially first thing in the morning and after the sun goes down. She LOVES people and kids! She is good with other dogs as long as they respect her boundaries. She easily integrates into a pack, but remains kind of a loner. She is spayed, (after having 10 puppies), microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She has also completed Heart Worm treatment. Sunshine loves belly rubs and pets. She will look lovingly and longingly into your eyes like she knows that her life has been saved and she is so very grateful. She is a very calm girl who prefers to lay on the cool floor. She is a “guardian” breed and will quietly take up a position (usually in a doorway) and just relax. She knows basic commands but does have a stubborn streak. Usually a treat will encourage her to follow your directions. Sunshine does have a high prey drive, so no cats or tiny toy breeds please. She also has a history of fence jumping to pursue wildlife, so a privacy fence would be ideal. If you would like to meet this precious girl and make her part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Sunshine is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Story
Stella was acquired from a local farm where her mother and father work as farm dogs. She playful, energetic, happy, and protective. Anatolian Shepherds of course make great guard dogs for livestock, and the Labrador in her makes her very friendly with the children. She want to assert her dominance over her smaller sister, so we are unable to keep them together anymore. She’d make a lovely farm dog for some family.

Story
Through no fault of her own, she needs a loving family. Willow is approximately 5 yrs old, and weighs approximately 130 lbs. She is extremely gentle, never aggressive, but given the opportunity she will chase cars so a fenced yard is a must. This beautiful girl came to my mom as a pregnant stray approximately 4 years ago. She is frightened by loud noises (i.e., thunder, fireworks, or gunfire) in any of these circumstances she wants inside to hide. She is so loving and will sit and let us pet her and hold her paw for as long as we want. She would do very well on a farm as a guardian or in a home with a large fenced yard. She is such a sweet girl and needs a home where she can run and lay in the sunshine. Due to the owner's current health situation, a new, permanent, and loving home is needed.

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact the owner at shaestorm16@hotmail or 828-280-6844 for more information or to adopt the pet.Kylo is a male Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix… a best educated guess, according to his vet. He will be 3 years old in November. We adopted him one month before the start of the Pandemic, so Kylo spent his first two years in our yard, with very little social interaction. He was very happy at our home which was surrounded by several fenced acres. This year we lost our home. Kylo is extremely intelligent, affectionate, gentle, playful and sweet. He loves to play keep away with socks and tissues… and he loves to sleep next to me. He is an exceptionally gorgeous creature. He gets lots of attention and compliments from other humans wherever we go because he is really very handsome. He gets along with most humans, my two cats and the very small dog he lives with. Otherwise, he probably would best be an "only dog."He is an amazing protector! He is often on high alert and is a barker, especially when he is outside and senses something unusual. His bark is deep and loud. He really loves to bark. Because we do not have a home with a fenced-in yard anymore, Kylo has to be walked on leash. He is controlled until distracted by other dogs, animals or even cars driving by. Then he barks and growls and lunges…. Kylo weighs nearly 100 lbs and is hard to control when he gets worked up, which inevitably happens when we walk on the street on leash. Kylo needs a person he can give his heart and unfaltering loyalty to. He also needs a fenced-in yard so he can run & play… with no neighbors close by because the barking could be an issue.Kylo is neutered, current on all vaccines, takes medicine to prevent fleas, ticks and heartworm, and has been under veterinary care at North Asheville Animal Hospital since we adopted him at 12 weeks old. He has had 8 weeks of formal puppy training in a group session, as well as a second series of general “manners” training. He is very motivated by treats and will sit, lie down, come and sometimes stay. He will gently take treats from my mouth & loves to be brushed if treats are involved. He loves to ride in the car, but will bark at other dogs he sees on the street.  He does not like the dog park; he greets the humans and hides from all the other dogs. Given the appropriate environment for us to live, I would NEVER be seeking to re-home my beautiful boy. He is a very special, very loved dog, and he deserves a really happy life.Contact me today at shaestorm16@hotmail or 828-280-6844 to learn more about sweet Kylo! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. This animal is NOT available through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. This is a courtesy listing only, so you will need to contact the current owner for more information or to adopt. PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER: text: (916) 804-9581 or email: demellosasha@gmail.com Meet George the Greek! This lucky pup was rescued from Athens Greece and is ready to find his forever home. This handsome boy is an Anatolian Shepherd, 3yrs old, neutered and up to date on all vaccines. George is incredibly affectionate, loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and the entire family. If you want a new best friend, look no further! George has been professionally trained and knows his basic commands (sit, stay, off, polite around food). George loves to run and stretch his legs, a large property setting would be the best fit. He's a working dog and would love to follow his owner around outdoors. Unfortunately, his current owner lives in a small apartment that is not providing George with the best environment for his breed. While initially timid with unknown dogs, George warms up to new dogs quickly and would love a family with multiple dogs. George does great at doggy-daycare, but dog parks are not recommended. Serious enquiries only please. We are in no rush to re-home George. It's important that we find his forever family. He's a loving dog with so much to offer! Contact: Sasha (916) 804-9581

Story
https://www.greenepets.org/adoptionapplicaiton.html My name is Leo, short of Leopold. I am a smart and loyal friend, quick to stay at your side once you earn my trust. I do a good job of staying calm in various situations as long as I know you have my back. I love food and am very willing to work for treats. Maybe I can be your new sidekick? Special Handler, Savvy Belgian Malinois Dog Owner Leopold is absolutely amazing. He is extremely laid back and such a gentleman. I pulled him from Animal Control this morning because he was on his "death's door date". He was okay meeting a stranger "me" and didn't pull as we walked to the truck. Opened the tailgate and told him to "Hup" and up he went. He had a couple of barks on the 15-mile trip to our kennels, but he didn't mind being in the back. He also waited when I opened the tailgate to unload him. Didn't dismount until invited. He will be in chill mode for the next three days and he is barking in the kennel. During this time I will be making every effort to find his owner and figure out what brought him to Greene County. Leopold will be assessed this Friday. He currently seems very laid back, and a little shy, though he has been great with all the new stuff thrown at him so far. Not a worker, I see more of a snuggler. And he was picked up with a small female terrier.
