Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! NOT!! I am a snuggle bug looking for tummy scratches....I willl MELT for one!! Here is what one of our amazing fosters have to say about Dakota...."Super freaking sweet, loves loves belly rubs, is very strong when you walk him but listens well. VERY treat motivated and knows sit down paw and i just taught him roll over yesterday but its a work in progress 😝. Super playful, he will pounce around you and then roll over for belly rubs and absolutely melts for the belly rubs and kisses" I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!! I am two VERY loyal breeds and once I know you are my family, you will have my unending love :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Shrek is a great name for me! I am kind of a sweet OGRE looking boy with a loving heart and kind of beat up body. It is HARD to live on the streets! I had an old injury so limping was my norm. It was discovered that my back leg had been broken and healed very wonky. Now my bad leg is gone and I am pain free! NOW, I am a healthy TRIPOD boy looking for just the right family...one who will care for me for all my days! I deserve it and you deserve this cute OGRE in your life too! Story
Harley is a super sweet and goofy, very active, 35 lb, 3 year old Australian shepherd/cattle dog mix who loves cuddles, playing in her doggy pool, and learning new tricks. She is highly trainable and so so smart; we have taught her the names of all of her favorite toys and she can distinguish between them! She is reactive and fearful in that she barks at other dogs on walks but with training she has learned to love young puppies and older male dogs. We had to take her in after a family member had an emergency and we already have two other dogs and she has not been getting along with one of them so we cannot keep her, unfortunately. She would be a great addition to a family who wants only one dog. She is good with cats and we have seen her good with school age children after they give her some treats. Please keep in mind she does need training and will be work. We need her going to an experienced dog owner who will put in the time and energy that she deserves.

Story
MEET RUTHIE — A GENTLE, CLUMSY GIRL LOOKING FOR HER PERSON Ruthie is a beautiful 1.5–2-year-old, 59 lb. yellow dog who looks like she may have some Anatolian Shepherd or Boxer in her mix. Her personality, though, is more Great Dane or Great Pyrenees: gentle, steady, loyal, and happiest near her people. She has short bursts of playful energy, followed by long, peaceful naps. Ruthie came into rescue after surviving on her own for several months in the Nashville area. Because of that, she can be cautious in new situations and needs an adopter who understands that trust may take a little time. Once she bonds, though, she bonds deeply. In her foster home, Ruthie has become loving, relaxed, and very attached to her person. She is house-trained, quiet in the home, gentle taking treats, and has never had an accident in her foster home. She enjoys hiking, dog park trips, squirrel patrol, mud, water, shade, and then settling down for a good nap. She has a sweet, clumsy play style and sometimes seems like she is still figuring out where all four legs are supposed to go. Ruthie is wonderful with other dogs and plays gently with dog friends of all sizes. She is also easy and gentle with children, greeting them with the same soft, cautious curiosity she uses with new adults. She would likely enjoy having a confident dog friend, but what she wants most is a person or family to belong to. Ruthie is not a dog who would thrive being left alone all day with limited interaction. A work-from-home adopter, active household, or home with another friendly dog would be a great fit. Because Ruthie is smart, strong, and resourceful, her forever family should be prepared to use extra safety precautions during the transition period. A fenced yard is strongly preferred. We also recommend a martingale collar, double leash setup, and an AirTag or GPS collar until she is fully settled and bonded. Ruthie is not difficult. She just needs someone thoughtful, patient, and confident enough to help her feel safe. She has already proven that once she trusts you, she is incredibly loyal and loving. RUTHIE’S IDEAL HOME: - Patient, confident adopter - Fenced yard preferred - Another friendly dog would be a plus, any size or disposition - Work-from-home or active family preferred - Someone willing to use transition safety tools at first - A home that understands cautious dogs can become the most devoted companions Ruthie is being fostered in Tennessee. Tennessee adoption is preferred, but Critter Cavalry does transport to the Northeast weekly for the right adopter. INTERESTED IN RUTHIE? Have you ever seen a big doggy PUPPY? Well if you saw my pics, you have NOW! I have a perpetual puppy face, so very cute! I am a great boy, a busy boy and I would LOVE a busy family too!! I came to the rescue ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO! And all my family has already been adopted but I am still waiting............................................ And I am not sure WHY, except I am a smart and busy boy. I would do best in a single dog home...one great thing about me is...you don't have to trudge me to the dog park.... i prefer to be at home with YOU. I am good with cats too!! Now, if you know the Belgian Malinois breed you will know that exercising my body is good, but it just makes me stronger and have more stamina ;) So you have to ALSO exercise my brain- that is the way to wear me out ;) Doggy puzzles, wearing a weighted backpack, all kinds of ways to do that! I love to be challenged and to LEARN what you want me to do to be your new bestest friend!! I want a really nice family who will hike, bike, run, swim with me too! I have a heart of gold and am ready to shine it right on your family, ADOPT ME!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Misty! She's a smart lady who is smart as a whip! She's crate trained, mastered many commands (sit, down, off, mat, enough, go to your room, here, all done- more than most kids :). She loves to run, play fetch and be wherever you are! She's a year and a half old, and was lucky enough to have professional training donated to help her find her forever home. Whoever adopts her will receive at least one free hand off session from her trainer to help her transition go perfectly! Her ideal family would be somewhat active (she needs to run around a yard at least a few times per day). She gets along well with other dogs, but calmer dogs are best. Misty loves to play, but she can get very excited if the other dog is too energetic! She would do well with older children. Younger children and cats would require a lot of supervision. Her trainer thinks she would be a great agility dog, but she is smart enough to do anything you want to train her to do! She will require some active parenting to teach her the rules of your house, because she is so smart, she may try to make her own activities if nothing fun is provided! She's potty trained now (we had some overnight accidents until she started going in her crate at night). She's a great dog with a good head on her shoulders, and she wants to know if you are the one for her! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
Benny is a joyful, playful pup full of energy and always ready for his next adventure! He loves squeaky toys and will happily bounce around the yard or play a game of fetch to burn off some of that fun-loving energy. He’s great with kids and other dogs, making him a wonderful addition to a family. Benny is already house trained and crate trained—such a smart boy! He’s currently working on his basic commands and will need a family committed to continuing his training and helping him polish his manners. With his long legs like a Great Dane and a sleek Lab-like coat, Benny is as handsome as he is athletic. He would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. After a day of fun, Benny is more than happy to hang out with his people and soak up all the love. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic, and affectionate companion, Benny just might be your perfect match!
