Story
looking to rehome our 2 year old Blue Heeler to an adult only or older child home.he is extremely loyal and affectionate once he bonds with you and truly becomes a velcro dog. he loves pets and attention, is very treat motivated, and enjoys having space to run and explore.he can be cautious with new people at first and needs a little time to warm up, but once comfortable he is very loving and wants to stay by your side.we are rehoming because he has become increasingly stressed living with our toddler, and we feel he would do best in a quieter home without small children.we want to find the right fit for him. serious inquiries only.

Story
Meet Tikka — A Loyal, Active Companion with a Working Dog Heart Tikka is a smart, capable Heeler whose best qualities shine when she has structure, activity, and people to bond with. She is energetic, playful, and happiest when she has space to run and something to do. Whether it’s going for a jog, keeping pace alongside a golf cart during chores, or simply exploring the property, Tikka thrives in an active environment where she can stretch her legs and stay engaged. She is well trained in many areas of daily life. Tikka walks easily on a leash, loads into the truck when asked, and is crate trained. She knows how to sit and shake with both paws and responds well to clear direction. After exercise, she’s content to relax on a big beanbag or lie quietly at your feet, happy just being near her people. Tikka lives with older children and does well with them, though she does take a little time to warm up to new people. She was not well socialized early in life, so continued positive exposure and guidance will help her continue building confidence. She gets along very well with other dogs and has lived peacefully with a canine companion for years. While she hasn’t had issues with the household cat, she does watch with interest, so slow introductions or a dog-savvy cat would be ideal. True to her breed, Tikka is naturally protective and alert. She does have a strong instinct to chase deer if she sees them, but she returns shortly after. Chickens, even when visible, have not been a concern for her. Tikka would do best in a home familiar with herding breeds, where her intelligence, loyalty, and energy can be appreciated and guided. With continued structure, socialization, and an active routine, Tikka will be a deeply devoted companion who loves being part of her family’s daily life. If you're interested in meeting Tikka, please contact Lane at 904-860-2468. Disclaimer: All pets posted and adopted through Neighborhood Pets are not members of Paws Humane Society. Story
Toby is a one-year-old Husky/Heeler mix who truly embodies the best of both breeds—intelligent, affectionate, eager to learn, and wonderfully people-oriented. This sweet boy was recently rescued from the urgent euthanasia list at Hall County Animal Shelter and has been blossoming in his foster home. ❤️ Personality & Temperament Toby is an incredibly gentle, friendly, and loving dog. He enjoys giving kisses, offering his paw, and occasionally jumping up for a soft hug. Despite having a Husky brain and Heeler instincts, he’s not noisy—no howling in his foster home! He’s wonderful with kids, tolerates handling extremely well (paws, mouth, toys, and food), and has shown great manners around other dogs, even ignoring an aggressive one during testing. 🧠 Trainability This boy is smart, curious, and highly trainable. He already knows how to shake and responds well to redirection. He is food-motivated and eager to please, making him an excellent candidate for continued training or even working/breed-appropriate activities. As a Heeler/Husky mix, he thrives with structure, stimulation, and a purpose. 🚶‍♂️ Exercise & Home Needs Toby LOVES going on walks and would thrive in a home with: A fenced yard, Room to run, Or even a farm / active lifestyle where he can have a “job.” He does well on a leash (especially with a harness) and stays by your side once he gets going. 🏡 House & Crate Training Toby is housetrained when kept on a routine and sleeps through the night. He is still learning the crate and struggles being left alone—he becomes anxious and has shown destructive tendencies when unsupervised for extended periods. If you’re home often or have a setup with a yard or outdoor space, he will thrive. When people are home, he is calm, well-mannered, and shows none of the destructive behaviors. He is simply a young, intelligent dog who gets bored easily and needs proper outlets for his energy. 🐶 What He’s Like in the Home Very gentle and affectionate Good manners (doesn’t jump on furniture much and is respectful indoors) Quiet for a Husky mix Learning how to play and explore enrichment Excellent sleeper LOVING, trusting, and eager to bond 🩺 Medical Toby is: ✔️ Neutered ✔️ Up-to-date on all vaccines (including rabies) ✔️ Heartworm negative ✔️ On monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention All medical records are available. 🏡 Ideal Home for Toby Toby would do best with someone who: Has a fenced yard or land for running Has another friendly dog OR is home often Can provide structure, training, and exercise Enjoys an affectionate, active companion Understands working-breed needs He would make an incredible partner for someone who wants a smart, loyal dog with tons of potential. Toby is loving, sweet, and ready for his forever family who can give him the lifestyle he deserves.
